APB Perspective Review:

What I loved about Ivy's and Eli's story: It was real , I felt it , I felt Eli's stress over how he was going to pay for Zion's school , how much he loved his son, how he watched Ivy and wanted her ,but was nervous that their financial differences would break them up. Even though he was afraid of getting hurt he went for it anyway. Ivy, I loved her she reminded me of me without the money , she did not care what he had, she cared how he would treat her , she wanted Eli , an

I love Nia Forrester's writing. This book is a story about two normal people. Divorced and raising little boys by themselves. They notice each other and proceed to develop a relationship. All pretty normal and not terribly exciting. I feel that was the intention. Just normal people finding their way to loving each other.

Happy Reading!

"Ivy's League" by Nina Forrester

My Thoughts....

"Ivy's League" was a beautifully written romantic story about two people...Ivy and Eli. The flow of this story was very well done as we are presented with two people who have two life styles in that were similar in that they were divorced and had son's but that is where it stopped. I loved how this author was able to give the reader a realistic story wher
Recently on her blog, the author described this book as "The Book Where Nothing Happens" (click here to see what she means: But this book is so much more! This was the book where a real woman meets a real man and they experience real things in a very real, but new relationship.

We have Ivy who has a successful career and is sort of a single mother, she then meets Eli who is a blue collar single father who is struggling financially to give his son all the

Nia Forrester's stories have a way of pulling me in through a gently opening door, offering a comfortable seat with soft blanket thrown over my feet and a lavender scented pillow at my head...regardless of what is really going on in the actual world around me.
Ivy's League is a thoughtful and thought provoking story about relationships between lovers, family members (adults and children) and friends. This story manages in very short order to completely capture all of the feelings, challenges and

Wowza's...right now, true to life storytelling

Well damn Ms. Forrester. I want to say "PREACH" but that's just sounds too cliché. Aww hell, "PREACH".

The two main characters are so well written with a supporting cast of about dozen others, who are equally as well written.

I don't ask much from my author's. I simply want dynamic & relatable characters, chemistry, grown up sex scenes, grammar check and writing that makes me want to laugh cry or scream. Well this cleverly modern tale of 'is she

Man up or back off!

That has to be my favorite line of the entire book! There was something about this story that just resonated with me. Ivy and Eli seemed like real people. They could be your friend, cousin, brother or sister. These characters were just so relate-able, and their relationship was real! It wasn't the normal rich guy beautiful woman story line, there was substance here. These two had plenty of good times, but also dealt with real life issues. This was a short book for Nia's standa

I LOVED this book! This story had a lot more dialogue than I think Nia usually includes in her books (as far as I can recall, anyway) which is probably why I enjoyed it so much. Internal monologues are nice, but I prefer reading actual conversations between the characters.

And I loved loved Eli and Ivy. Eli was stubborn as a mule, but I (mostly) understood his struggle. I'm just glad he and Ivy weathered the storm together. I even shed a few tears at some of their exchanges. I did notice a few t

Just what the doctor ordered

Nia Forrester is my absolute FAVORITE author. This book was the breath of fresh air that I desired. After reading so many horrible books, this book gave me hope that real authors still exist and they still write with passion. As a hopeless romantic this book left me dreading it's end and once I finished the book I wanted more and more. Thanks for the amazing novella. I cannot wait to read more of your works.

Another beautiful story!

Another masterpiece by a master storyteller.

Ivy's League is the story of a woman who has made a good life for herself. She has a great job, a smart, loving son and a home in an upperclass neighborhood. From the outside looking in, there is nothing to suggest that she isn't completely happy.

What we soon learn is Ivy is lonely and not just for want of a man. She doesn't have many close friends and as for family, there's only her aunt and mother. She spends most weekends al

Ivy Livingstone is every woman. Divorced, mother of one and a mover and shaker in the political arena. Eli Thomason is a divorced, father of one and a small business owner. They meet when Ivy fall and literally shows her behind to him in their children's school parking lot.

There is immediate chemistry and the remnant of the baggage that they both carry from previous relationships.

I love that there is a ying and yang quality to this story. She is a mover and a shaker, he is a struggling small bu

Great Read...

Once again, Nia Forrester has taken me there with her Intriguing Characters, as their chemistry oozed from beginning to end. I felt as if I were a part of the story. Ivy and Eli were totally different but very much alike in so many ways. The flow of this story was so smooth that I found myself hesitating to stop reading before reading it in its entirety. A definite must read that does not disappoint. Please say that this is not the end Nia!

When I finished reading this book "Wait for Love" by Luther Vandross came to mind. Relationships aren't perfect, when two people are willing to work on its what's perfect for that person. I so loved this book!

Overall it was okay!!

It was okay. As always, well written, emotional and raw. I guess I just didn’t LOVE the characters. And that happens! Sometimes we don’t fall in love with characters and so we don’t always connect. Maybe it was because I couldn’t see myself as Ivy, but it doesn’t mean that the next reader wouldn’t love them!! I think it was probably that they were both divorced and parents that made it so that I didn’t connect; since that hasn’t been my experience. Overall I thought it was o

Simply beautiful

I am in love Nia Forrester! Elegant writing combined with a captivating plot. Nia spoils her readers and I am hooked. I hate I am just now getting on the Nia bandwagon. Sis can write!!!! I loved Eli and Ivy, I truly did, I didn’t want this story to end. 2 just to good as people that found love and their love was everything.

I can’t say this was bad but it really didn’t meet my expectations and I just didn’t like Eli he annoyed me. I get he had his insecurities or whatever but he was so whiny, and jealous, and he expected Ivy to be like a damn caretaker while also not allowing her to fully help him. I didn’t find him appealing or compelling in the slightest. Ivy was amazing though and I really tried to push through it for her. I mostly skimmed through it after the first 60% so I couldn’t justify giving it a star rat ...more

Love a second time

Ivy and Eli's story is about finding and trusting love a second time around. They had to find time to be with each other despite their busy lives. They both had to let go of the past to focus on their future together.

The Same League

Loved it! Sometimes the easiest way to let go of the negativity is to acknowledge your part in accepting, allowing, and maybe even feeding into it. Then realizing the blessing of that situation and focusing on that instead.

Not bad!

I rated this 3 stars because some part of me wanted more. Maybe I wanted them to get married or I wanted him to let her in more... Idk. I know I wanted something more from the book. Overall a decent read.

I liked the book but struggled with the characters at times

It was a good read. I struggled with the stubbornness as well as the loose ends and how the book ended. Just needed a little more.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. It hits on the misdemeanor aspects of your relationship; i.e. perception of class and dating someone that has a kid.

Good story

Ivy and Eli’s “relationship” was so relatable in more ways than one. I want to read more about them. Idk why but I don’t like Gavin at all.

Surprise surprise, Nia Forrester writes another 5 ***** novel. Not really a surprise. I don't think I've ever been disappointed in anything she's written. Eli and Ivy's story is one of those stories that you can relax and enjoy reading the love story unfold. I really enjoyed these two. Ivy was sweet, smart and sexy. She was the total package. I love a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. Her down to earth personality was her biggest attribute for me. Eli was a cool dude but he was s ...more

I live in Washington D.C. Philadelphia, PA where by day I work on public policy and by night I read authors who move me, and craft woman-centered fiction.
