I didn't mean to read it so quickly....

When I started this book it was simply as a filler book to tide me other until a book in a series I'm addicted to was released. The plan was to read 20 pages a night, that would get me through....I think I !managed 20 pages the first night and on the second night I couldn't put it down. My kindle died in the middle of reading and I realised it was almost 5am. Oops.

Entering the third day I'd given up my plan and allowed myself to fall into the book.

I absolutely 5 star recommend this read-maybe I have been reading too many horror novels, murders and thrillers lately because this was such a breath of fresh air, it was wonderful to catch myself properly laughing out loud(although I think my kids who I woke up would disgagree...and the man in the queue behind me at the Co-op who cast a disgusted glance my way because I was reading and being a bit too loud SUE ME FOR GRABBING EVERY MOMENT FOR READING!)

Ahem. I digress...this isexactlywhat I

A light-hearted read with a few funny moments and an uplifting feel-good factor.

- It's a fun enough book that's well-suited to when you need a light read to perk you up
- The Duffy family are pretty great albeit swamped with clichés e.g. irresponsible young mother 'who's just a baby herself', studious older sister who's a bit boring but knows exactly what to do in each situation
- The main character felt believable and utterly relatable

- There are no surprises in this book whatsoever,

Juliette is a typical new mum, not sure if she's doing things right. She can't get her baby Daisy to sleep no matter who's advice she follows so she is physically and mentally exhausted. Nick, her partner is not helping matters, in fact he is like an overgrown schoolboy. They live in an apartment owned by Nick's mum Helen who is always popping in while being no help at all while making it clear that she doesn't think Juliette is good enough for her darling son.

Juliette would like to be the

Will start by saying I love this writer and have read many of her previous works. This book is in a date order like you would write in a diary. That was a bit hard for me to stay on the story line. Kind of choppy this way. But the story and main character Juliette were quite true to life for I would say many women. Struggles of keeping a family together when only one is trying. Fighting against

I invested in the main character straight away. A real whirlwind read where I really hoped and wished for a happy ending. Some laugh out loud bits too! Loved it.

This an amazing light read. It puts a humourous aspect on parenting. This is filled with romance. Couldn't put it down. I'm so glad it all worked out for Jules in the end and I look forward to reading the next book

Totally predictable. Read outside in the sunshine, characters slightly OTT for me and the end was a bit rushed. A fun, quick read that made me smile

I finally got Amazon Unlimited and this one was in Weekly Deals. I thought why not go out of my usual reading?

It was difficult to get into and at the beginning I had no idea who anyone was. I understand it was a diary but it would've been nice to have a quick introductory about all the characters (Alex - Childhood friend for example, cause for I was confused for a while).

Regarding to the actual story, it was nice to read a book set in England as I'm studying there and it seems that this story

The much discussed topic of motherhood presented in a charming and humorous platter!
Witty & humorous, with a dash of romance added to the mix. A heartwarming but realistic romantic comedy which peels the layers of perfect motherhood and gives a peek into the daily life of a middle class mother, where sometimes money is short and trying to balance motherhood while aiming to get back the perfect body seem to collide at every turn. It's also a story about understanding relationships and

I have just this minute finished this book and had to leave a 5 star review as I enjoyed it so much. Extremely witty, this diary of motherhood made me laugh out loud and was a fun, feel-good read.
As a mother to a one year old, I could relate to all the baby mishaps which conjured up my own fun memories with my daughter. I look forward to any future books and have to agree, a happy baby is most certainly a sparkly baby!

I picked this book because it was free on Amazon and I needed a quick read for a long wait at the hospital (don't worry I'm fine. Just waiting for a friend to have a procedure done. She's fine too).

I had mixed feelings throughout reading this novel and almost put it down a few times for the overtly obvious happily-ever-after and cliches that are in the book. Her sister is an irresponsible young mother, her mother is over-the-top loud, and obnoxious, and she's the responsible older sister. I do

I just love the Bad Mother books - just got Detox to read. (hoping there will be some more written soon)

This is the second in the series -
1. Pregnancy (though Amazon has this as no.4 it is a prequel to the series so I'm putting at no.1)
2. Diary
3. Detox
4. Holiday (I read this first so I'm all out of sequence anyway)

This is all about family with Juliette as the main character. The family she grew up with, the family she wanted with Nick father of her child Daisy, and the full circle she goes

Suzy K. Quinn has somewhat confounded me with this book! There are some holes to pick in both this book and the free Novella linked in the end of the book. There are some massive inaccuracies littered throughout both titles. The story line has an air of predictability about it, and some of the finishing is lacking. It should be one of those books that you read the first few pages of, think "tripe" and never pick up again. Yet, it absolutely is not! It's one that you keep going back to. Despite ...more

I would have given this book infinite stars if I could. I've had three marvelous days reading. I've run through a riot of emotions: mostly anticipation but also joy, disgust, sadness, derision, amused, scornful.
I was so afraid Juliette would continue to be stupid about Nick, but she grew wise. I've already acquired the other books and am waiting for the new one in October.
I had a lovely time. Erotica has become lately more pornographic, and the story lines suck except for a few rare authors.

Not quite the 'laugh out loud' comedy the book promises, but more of a chuckle to myself in places type of book. It is written in a diary format, which made it really quick and easy to read. I finished the book in about 5 hours (broken up in about 4 train journeys and a couple of hours in bed).

I would say it follows the typical chick-lit format, girl starts with an asshole, meets 'the one', eventually realises that the asshole is an asshole and gets with 'the one', loses 'the one' because of

The Bad Mother's Diary

Although not my usual read, I loved this book and have already downloaded the sequel.

I would have given it five stars but knocked one off for poor grammar. 'You and I' was used throughout the book when it should have been 'you and me'. Why do so many authors have such a poor understanding of their own language? You would never say 'he gave it to I' so why say 'he he gave it to you and I'? Just Google 'object and subject' ; I should never be used as the object of a sentence.

I love books like this as it gives a much truer insight into the lives of people trying to cope with everyday life. Yes it is fiction, but there is so much stuff throughout that I know is closer to the truth for a lot of mum's out there. Working as a nanny for over twenty years I can empathise with a lot of what the mum in this story shares with the reade.

This is a hilarious read, which gave me plenty of laugh out loud moments. There are also many heartwarming moments throughout. Combining these

I really struggled with this book. As a mother of 3, I totally related to some parts of the book (the dieting in particular), however I felt like I was reading a Facebook page of an illiterate idiot who feels the need to update their status every 2 minutes with complete and utter nonsense about crap no one cares about. There were some funny lines, a couple of comical moments, but it all felt forced, over the top, not very well thought through, and character development completely lacking. ...more

~ written like a diary you just can’t put down. Cheeky and hilarious!
Juliet and Nick have a baby. Daisy is a lovely little baby and like most newborns, she runs the household. Problem is, it’s not their house but Nick’s mother’s. She wastes no time barging in and giving her two cents anytime she wants. All of this while Juliet trains to run her first marathon. Alex has said he would train her. Her childhood friend and one of “the Daltons”. Nick gets sick with jealousy whenever he comes around.

Brilliant....Just Brilliant

I don't normally write reviews, but on this occasion I had to. This is not my normal genre, but it looked fun. Couldn't put it down. Read the book from start to finish in one sitting. Funny, sad, hysterical, normal, crazy... I could go on but need to download the next book from this wonderfully entertaining and fresh new to me, author. Recommend for anyone who needs a lift in spirit of just an entertaining read. Please, Suzy, keep writing, I am hooked.

Oh my, oh my, oh my, if only I could describe in words how much I enjoyed reading this book, if only I could. LOOOVED it to bits and pieces, couldn't put it down, the writing is so brilliant. It's so sweet and lighthearted, Jules and her family were amazing, a type of family anyone would want, a bit crazy but totally loving. Can't wait to read more ... CAN'T WAIT!!!

P. S. And as a new mom I totally related to a lot of Daisy "incidents", it was funny reading about things happening in my life as

A holiday read.
This is not a book I would normally have chosen but our book group wanted it for this month, so I thought I'd give it a go. It was an easy enough read, although rather predictable and the ending was a bit rushed. It felt like a cross between Sophie Kinsella (Shopaholic books) and Helen Fielding (Bridget Jones).
I cringed at the appearance of the author half way through, congratulating us for getting this far, I hope this does not become an author trend.

Great little feel-good book

A great light read. Finished it in one day and found myself wanting to go back and read it in the middle of dinner!

The characters are charming and likeable, the plot is believable. After reading a couple of pages I wasn’t sure if the informal tone would annoy me, but after a while it felt perfectly natural. A lovely feel-good book, I’ll be downloading the next in the series.

Wonderful read!

I have thoroughly enjoyed every single page of this book. It is completely relatable and a joy to get lost in! I have laughed countless times and rooted for Juliette through the whole book. It is such a talent to write a book and make it relatable to every single woman. Regardless of whether they have children or not might I add! Can’t wait to get stuck into the next one.
