Hi Mindy,
Blood and Metal is book 5 in my Dark Desires series. The other books, in order, are Break Out, Deadly Pursuit, Death Defying and Temporal Shift.
Having said that, they are all written to be stand alone, each book being a complete romance with a different couple.

5 - "There's something about danger that makes my dick hard." Stars!

I have been a huge fan of the Blood Hunter/Dark Desires Series since its beginning. Blood and Metal gave me the opportunity to spend some more time with Rico, Captain Tannis and the rest of the Blood Hunter crew, hand as usual Nina Croft did not disappoint in giving us Fergal and Daisy’s story.

”I don’t want to be on my own anymore.”

As you would expect there are the usual thrills, spills, laugh-out-loud one liners, and hot, hot s

Fast and fun addition to the Dark Desires sci-fi romance series. Full of the sexy humor I've come to expect from the series and, even at book five, this one doesn't disappoint. Who knew cyborgs could be so sexy?

Well I confess to loving this series where space truly is the final frontier! Nina Croft has invented a fascinating world which although based in a futuristic setting manages to include paranormal elements and quite a lot of romance . These books feature the crew of the Blood Hunter , mercenaries who are united and will do anything to protect each other . This band of what some might consider to be misfits are a crazy mixture of vampires, shifters, genetically modified humans and even immortals ...more

Daisy is the Blood Hunter co-pilot but she also a newly turned vampire and her hunger is interfering with the crews plans for revenge but her old flame Fergal Cain just may be the sexy solution to the problem in this pulse-pounding sci-fi romance.

Fergal’s running out of time to get the antidote to the poison running through his veins and the reader can’t help but caught up in the story as Daisy and Fergal dance around the truth. The chemistry between Daisy and Fergal a super-heated inferno of pa

What do you do when you get kidnapped not once but twice by the same people, you join the crew! I've been following this series from the beginning and it has been an awesome ride. I might be bias because I feel Ms. Croft can write no wrong but in this case I am delighted again to lose myself in her crazy worlds that she creates. Fergal is a reporter that has a knack for finding trouble and his latest problem is a doozy! 1st he chops off his own arm to get the scoop on his latest story and then h ...more

What a terrific book! I will not waste any space setting the scene: if the blurb intrigues you, grab BLOOD AND METAL ASAP! It’s a perfect blend of scifi, paranormal, and romantic suspense, and Ms. Croft makes it work beautifully! The author has crafted a very intricate world where a lot happens, but everything is concisely and clearly explained, and it all makes perfect sense. There are several characters, every one very well- defined, and all of them very interesting. Some concepts are terrific ...more

There are time's Fergal's words make me hot, damn that man is sexy, “well, that didn’t go as planned. You know how long it’s been since I was with a naked woman? Too effing long. ***t, my ***k’s still hard even after all that.”She glanced down at his groin. Definitely still hard." I liked this book. The books in this series are always action packed, with romance and I like it.

A mixture of myth and modern technology, Blood and Metal is a strange brew but a great read. The two main characters are well developed and I enjoyed the storyline. Daisy is a unique character with a severe hunger problem and her relationship with Fergal is electric. A must read for fantasy lovers.

Nina Croft brings readers back on another starship ride on the Blood Hunter, and once again does not disappoint. Picture Star Trek, mixed with Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, mixed with Riley Jensen and a little bit of Kim Harrison's Hollow's thrown in, and you'll have a close image of this amazing series. The perfect dosage of sci-fi, paranormal, romance and non-stop thrills.

It's Daisy's turn in the spotlight as she loses her green and learns what it truly means to become a vampire. Hopefully

Plant girl turned vampire meets intrepid reporter turned cyborg. Or at least that’s one variation on the romance between Daisy, copilot of the Blood Hunter and Fergal Cain, escaped prisoner. However, there are many, many layers to both of their identities, and lots of both internal and external tension in this latest installment in the marvelous Blood Hunter series.

The previous book in this series, Temporal Shift serves as a bit of a reboot for the series.

WOW What a story! I liked Daisy from the start, but I could see her unacceptance of her being a vampire, it had been six months since Rico had saved her life and she wasn't sure it was a good thing. Her skin had been more greener than he eyes but now it was white as snow and she was always hungry! I felt bad for Fergal Cain had to endure the beatings from his dad and I was sorry that his mom didn't fight hard enough but left him because she saw no way out. I am becoming such a huge fan of Entangled Publishing. They are involved with some seriously talented authors. Blood and Metal was my first introduction to the Dark Desires series by Nina Croft, but I know it won't be my last. I'm just itching to go read book one to see how it all started.

The two main characters, Daisy and Fergal, are from pretty different worlds. Daisy is a newly turned vampire, thrust into this life of darkness as a last resort to save her life. Fergal had a traumatic childhoo

I made a HUGE mistake! I let this fifth book in Nina Croft's Dark Desires series sit on my Kindle carousel since the day it was published eight months ago. I tend to get bored by the characters, universe and writing style of an author after the third book in a series. Most of the time, I feel the books lose their magnetism and originality and become formulaic. That was a bodacious blunder in this instance. Blood and Metal was every bit as good as the first books in the series. Maybe better. It i ...more

I have to say that I thought I was going to be lost in this series starting with the 5th book, but I felt like I picked right up and could follow along with now problems. I love how Nina has mixed some of the future stuff with vampires/werewolves. This was written very well!!

When we catch up with Fergal, he is being released from where he has been for years. The man that Fergal thought was in charge of the science experiments (Stephan) he has been a part of has told him he wants to help him get

To say this novel is action packed is something of an understatement. It is a fascinating total mix of mythology, paranormal beings, technology, religion gone fanatic, bigotry, science fiction and romance combined in a story filled with suspense and thrills. The combination of ‘the usual’ paranormal beings - such as vampires and werewolves - are joined by genetically modified humans with their own powers and problems and other beings like Saffira, who is a time-mancer! They live in

**A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review****

Daisy is a newly-turned vampire & and the copilot of the Blood Hunter. Being that she is that brand new of a vampire, she is very hungry and that makes her revenge plans fall along the backburner due to her newly turned status. But funny little thing about being a vampire, feeding can help with the hunger…or sex. The only thing is with Daisy when she gets to her prey, she drains them pretty dry in a matter of moments which

Blood and Metal is the fifth book in author Nina Croft’s Blood Hunter and Dark Desires series. In this book, Daisy, one of the crew members of “The Blood Hunter,” gets a second chance at love when her old flame Fergal staggers into her life. This is the first novel I’ve read in this series, but my understanding is that Daisy has been a part of the series since book 1. Originally, Daisy was altered to be part plant, and had green skin. When we meet her again in this novel she’s become a vampire a ...more

If you have not read this series turn back and start it now! Nina Croft has invented a wondrous future full of humans, hybrids, shifters, vampires, cyborgs, and a human subset called the Collective. In this future Earth has been abandoned and humans have escaped to space (along with a few other species they weren’t aware boarded), unfortunately, war razes worlds between the conflicting factions of the Collective, the Church, and the Rebel Coalition. I always enjoy a visit with the crew of the Blood Hunter. Daisy has been a part of the crew from the beginning. When I first met her she was part plant and green. Now she is dead white and a vampire, a very new and very hungry vampire. The crew is helping to keep her fed. Rico is carefully watching her and helping her stay controlled. He tells her to get laid as that will also help. Since she is likely to rip the throat out of her partner sex may not be the answer.

Then Fergal Cain returns. He an

The ending totally bumped it up to a 4.5

Awww! This was one of the sweeter ones, and I think it had a lot to do with Daisy, The Blood Hunter's sweetheart and sunshine smile... even with her new additional fangs. The change in here was entertaining, considering that up until this point, I'd only ever known her as the nice one among a pack of vicious dogs (sorry guys) so to see her just as intimidating

Wowzer talk about a adventure with heat that was definitely different and of course out of this world. This author never fails to mesmerize you with her characters that have so much depth that they could jump from the pages. I really enjoyed this book from the very first page. Nina Croft snags the reader with an amazing opening, which sets the tone for the rest of the book. I loved that Nina wrote this novel as a standalone, despite the fact it’s the fifth book in a series. She managed to catch new readers up to past events, without detracting from the story. Which was really great because I haven't read the other books in this series. My only criticism is the main female character's name, Daisy. Really? It just see
