Fast forward ten years from where 'How Can I Be Down' left off. With some legal maneuvering, Kiley Abrams is a free man. At the top of his "to do" lost: 1) exact revenge on those that helped bring him down, 2) reconnect with his son and 3) make sure things are copacetic before his best friend Quincy is also released. But as we all know with this crazy thing we call life, things don't always go as planned. Kiley's son Desmon is no longer an impressionable toddler that thinks the world of his father. Instead, he's a rebellious, defiant and headstrong teenager. He's been without a father for ten long years, and sees no need of having one now. Despite his determination to be a role model and good father, Kiley is immediately drenched in drama, chaos and violence. He also finds himself falling for a woman, something he promised not to do considering that trusting a woman is how he landed in his predicament in the first place. Will she be his downfall? Will Kiley be able to develop the father/son relationship that he so longs for? Can he prevent Desmon from following in his footsteps? And will Kiley get it together before he lands back in jail or six feet under?
Brenda has done it again! (But did you expect anything less?) She continues to show just how talented of an author she is. 'No Justice No Peace' is a captivating story with unforgettable characters. It's the perfect blend of drama, sex, violence and intrigue. Brenda is taking the literary world by storm.

This book had so many ups and downs I really could not put it down. Kiley was still something else. He is the character that you just love, but hate at the same time, but have way more love for. I was so happy he smartened up this time around regarding the women in his life, because in the first book How Can I Be Down? he just made to many stupid mistakes that it was ultimately his downfall. Desmon grew up to be the exact opposite of what I expected, but it was great to see Kiley step up and do the right thing by him. As in Brenda Hampton fashion, of course this book had some off the chart sex scenes....the one with Kiley and Jada is really epic. The only thing I didn't like was Kiley's ending. I really wanted to see him and his family get that happy ending. Overall this was a gr8 read, and I wouldn't mind reading more about Desmon and what he will make of his self.
He has done 10 years and is a free man, Kelley Abrams is back! The crazy thing is he is just as hood as he was when he went in! If you don’t know anything else about this dude, know that he is gonna keep it real. It’s something about that bad boy that every good girl wants. Time does change people and I’m glad that he eventually got his life and his relationship with his son on the right track. This book made me laugh, made me angry and also made me sad. I’m normally a good predictor but didn’t think it would end this way.
I enjoyed this book and am now a new fan of Brenda Hampton's work.
Much time has passed and even though Kiley is out he's not up. Sometimes the more things change the more they stay the same. Out for revenge, it doesn't come cheap as Kiley tries to make amends for his pass trangressions. As he attempts to forge a bond with his son, he finds peace hard to come by as he seeks justice.
I asked for more drama in my review of the first book to this series and I got just that. The plot flowed and the well developed chacharacters made this read an enjoyable one.
