Despite being a short book, it's not a quick read. A lot of folks may look at this and remember the high school class they read when this book was distilled down to "The ends justify the means". It's more nuanced than that.
I'm not advocating for manipulation as a tool, but it is important to think about what you want to achieve and then tailoring your actions to accomplish it. That's a lesson that applies to all disciplines, not just princes (although I hope that in today's world, we understand that the people are not "means").
Probably worth a re-read, but highly recommend having discussions around it and not reading it solo.

I found The Prince to be an interesting and worthy read. Whilst the work was disguised as a guide for the rule of a Prince in a somewhat tyrannical fashion, I believe the Gramscian interpretation of the work as a call for the seizure of power by the commoners and the book itself a guide for ethically objectionable courses that would have to be pursued by any new revolutionary state, whilst his Discourses on Livy (whilst far too glorifying of the Roman Republic in my view) is his action views on governance of a state once established and secure.
