A great start to a new series and I absolutely loved it!! A great told story which left me with warm and fuzzy feelings. The Silver Sentinels, a wonderful group of older towns people, are the only ones who suspect foul play when Bob, the manager of the Redwood Cove Bed and Breakfast dies. Kelly the interim manager starts looking into the things that happened leading up to Bob's death and soon agrees that there are some things worth looking into. A highly recommended read!

4-1/2 Stars. Kelly Jackson, executive administrator of Resorts International, is called when an emergency arises at Redwood Cove Bed and Breakfast on the beautiful California coastline. The manager, Bob, has died in a fall from a cliff. His office has been searched, leading Kelly to believe there could be more to his demise than just losing his balance. A group of elderly town residents, calling themselves the Silver Sentinels, volunteer to decode some cryptic notes Bob left in his safe. They ar ...more

The story wasn't too bad, it was just that the writing needed a lot of work. Awkward dialogue, repetitiveness, choppy sentences. There was a character who was supposed to have a thick Russian accent, but the way he talked was more like that of a caveman. Had the writing been improved, the book still would have gotten no more then 3 stars. There was nothing new, and it followed the same formula and had the same tropes in all cozy mysteries.

I didn't buy Kelly's reason to investigate the m

Kelly Jackson has been sent as an interim manager at Redwood Cove Bed and Breakfast in Northern California. The previous manager was found dead at the bottom of a cliff. The report was it was an accidental fall.

Upon arrival, she had an employee stop at the site to look at where the fall occurred. It looked like an unlikely area for an accidental fall. Kelly overhears talk from a group that calls themselves "The Silver Sentinels." They are retired and they were the first start the talk of murder

A nice solid start to new series. I enjoyed the characters. Lots of material for future books. Kelly Jackson is sent by her boss to temporarily run Redwood Cove B&B after the manager of the property is found dead after an apparent accident. A local senior citizen group that meets at the B&B thinks their friend was murdered.

Murder at Redwood Cove is the first in a new cozy mystery series. Kelly Jackson works as an Executive Administrator for Resorts International and has been sent on temporary assignment to oversee the management of Redwood Cove Bed & Breakfast in the heart of Mendocino County, CA.

Previous Innkeeper Bob Phillips slipped and fell while hiking along the cliffs and plunged to his death and his wife subsequently suffered a massive heart attack and is recovering in the nearby inten

Murder at Redwood Cove by Janet Finsilver was a great introduction for me to this author.

Kelly Jackson was a very relatable character and I totally enjoyed getting to know her throughout this book. She's smart and independent with a big heart. I found the corpration that Kelly works for to be fascinating because I have never heard of a resort company that actually cared about their employees as depicted in this book. What a lovely place to work in the real world.

The supporting characters also w

Kelly Jackson has flown into a small town in Mendocino County to run a bed and breakfast for her boss. The previous manager fell to his death off a cliff, and Kelly quickly begins to wonder if it was murder. As strange events start happening, Kelly is certain of her conclusion. But can she prove it before something else bad happens?

The book doesn’t waste much time debating whether a murder happened or not, instead spending time on Kelly trying to prove it. There’s plenty to keep you reading to f

Kelly has just taken over running a B&B after the previous manager met a tragic end. His friends- known as the Silver Sentinels think that there is a mystery to be solved surrounding his death.
A really great group of characters have you turning the pages and taking them all to heart. What will they reveal about Bob’s death?

Why did I request this book ? Because it’s a cozy mystery, takes place in a charming bed & breakfast near the sea and bonus, there’s a Chocolate & Wine festival. Come on, who wouldn’t be tempted ?

And my impression was easily confirmed : a really nice heroin, a good cast of secondary characters including a dog, a young boy, a sherif who’s not as bad as

I totally enjoyed this one, which was the first in a series. The writing flowed so well, making it an easy read. Loved all the characters as well as the California setting, specifically Mendocino County. Great mystery based on something that really does happen along the Coast. I had a slight suspicion about the identity of one of the villains but never fully guessed. Great job!

I have had this book in my to be read pile for quite some time and I was not disappointed!
This first in a series grabbed me from the get go and didn't let go.
Well written characters and a whodunit that kept me guessing until the end.
I loved the multi generational aspect of the characters and cannot wait to read more in the series!

This sounded like a fun cozy mystery and I am so glad I got approved to read and review this one netgalley. It's just a bit different from most of the cozy mysteries I've read and I really enjoyed it. firstly it's told in the first person point of view, this is the first cozy mystery I've read that did that and I thought it really worked well. Then there was the mystery, Bob the previous manager of the Bed and Breakfast died in an accident, but a

Read this today when I needed a distraction. It's light and fun. I enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular. Called the murderer early based on "person who seems the least likely" reasons. But I think I care enough to try another one in the series, so win?

I enjoyed this book. I feel like I *should* have enjoyed it more than I did, but I really did like it and would read future installments in this series.

I enjoyed the setting within the running of a Bed and Breakfast, and the very scenic location. I liked the cast of supporting characters, especially the Silver Sentinels, and Tommy and Fred the basset hound were absolutely adorable!

I liked Kelly. She has all the qualities I typically enjoy in a cozy lead character.

You know, I’ve read a lot of mysteries in my lifetime. Most of the time the main character is a detective, FBI agent, or private investigator. But it is books like this, where it’s just an ordinary person looking into a mystery that seem to be some of the best reads. And that is what this is: a fun, interesting story about the quirky people in Redwood Cove and the mysterious death of one of their own.

Kelly Jackson is an outsider, but through her

This was a good mystery. I had no clue who the murderer was until it was revealed. Kelly Jackson is called in to help manage a B & B after the manager was found dead at the bottom of a cliff. Everyone is convinced it was an accident except a group of seniors called the "Senior Sentinels". They are convinced it was murder and do everything they can to find clues, slowly Kelly comes to believe them but the sheriff is doubtful and doesn't believe any of it. Meanwhile, there are others at risk a ...more

This new cozy series by Janet Finsilver is a sure winner. It has absolutely everything. Small town atmosphere with caring and developed characters along with a story line that builds as story progresses without missing a beat. Throw in a hint of romance, a sweet and curious little boy with a dog who will steal your heart and an utterly surprise ending make this one fabulous read. Do not miss this book!

I was given a copy of this book for free by Netgallery in return for an honest review.

I liked this book, the story wasn't over complicated and there was a nice twist to the end. It reminded me a bit of a Murder She Wrote episode, which to me is a good thing. Nice charachters and a good setting for a murder mystery. I would read the next book in the series as I am interested in how the characters develop. A nice Muder Mystery, if there is such a thing.
