My less than 2 year old loved it and my wife even more so 5 stars. She said this book helped her understand the world a lot more as she’s not a fan so a win for me.
This was pretty cute, but it does contain a spoiler for the SW series so I'll be holding off on giving this one to my niece until she's old enough to really enjoy it and can see the movies herself.
Yet again I'm disappointed in SW franchising. First I was turned off from buying my niece and nephew any figurines for x-mas because of the downplay of Rey as a central character. Now in this book they exclude her again and on top of that the only female in this book is a passenger. I am provoked in going so far as to tell parents not to get their children anymore SW paraphernalia.
The Disney machine is in full force to create a new generation of Star Wars fans. Little Golden books has a several books geared to introducing little ones to the space opera. The books are super simple and easy to read. It's a cute series, it should make adults who are fans appreciate the nostalgia of being young and discovering Star Wars.
I know that as a card-carrying nerd I am predisposed to like Star Wars, but I am shocked at the quality of the art and writing in these Golden Books. It is simple enough that my Star Wars savvy kiddos could read it, the cartoon-ish representations of the characters are strong and memorable - way to go!
A few thoughts: 1) SO MUCH QUI-GON! I missed him. Guess it's time to rewatch The Phantom Menace. 2) Who were the other Yodas????? I need to know. 3) WHERE'S REY
Pretty simple. Says what you'd expect. I watched the video of someone from the 501st Legion - Everglades Squad reading this, and there wasn't a very good view of the pictures.
Super cute book, very simple and was an enjoyment to read with the husband. Explains the basics and the hubs is hoping these will help baby bee get into the series completely
What intrigued me: Clayton and I took Jaren and Tyler to the comic book store in Redlands and they had the Golden Books: Star Wars series on display. Jaren selected this one and I am a Pilot.
What I liked: The illustrations are great, and it's a great book for early readers.
...there is a giant spoiler in this little book. If you want your kids to find out who Darth Vader is by watching the movies, then make sure you watch Empire Strikes Back with them before they read this one.
Genre: Modern Fantasy Grade Level: K - 1st This book is a part of the Little Golden Book collection and is a part of the series with Star Wars! It talks about the different types of Jedi's what they do and who they fight. It gives the reader a call to action at the end, and has great visuals and easy to read sentences.
A little golden book. What makes a Jedi, who they are, how they work and use the force and who their enemies are. A great comprehensive guide for interested kids!
Good, short read about what it means to be a Jedi in the Star Wars universe. I think this is good for pre-K through 1st grade, as a read-aloud, or an independent read for a very young reader.
