"She'd made a deal with the devil. And apparently the devil wore a bright orange jumpsuit."

The P-virus has decimated the world, and Monarch is on her way from Dallas to Austin to find out if her brother and niece survived. But with a broken down car, she has taken up temporary residence in a small house close to a convenience store. Then one day while out scavenging, she sees a Department of Corrections bus crash. She barricades herself inside her home, but that night the door crashes open and t

This post-apocalyptic romance is the first novella I've read of Ms. Arcangelo's, and I was very impressed.

Our heroine, Monarch, has survived for months out on her own after a pandemic sweeps the earth, causing mass casualties and global chaos. When we meet her she's eking out a living in an abandoned mobile home, stocking up on supplies and trying to get to a refugee camp where there may be family members to reunite with. That in itself is super admirable. I'd be lying if I said Breakout didn't

Fast read...wanted more apocalypse and world building

Setting / time / genre - post apocolyptic US, disease ridden
Length - super short, 100 pages
Series? - God, I hope not
Sexy times? - Uh, I think there were three or possibly four. My eyes glazed over, so I cannot accurately report this.
Plan on reading more by the author? - As if.

It wasn't terrible. It wasn't even close to great though. Here we have a perfect opportunity to create some real action, a real story. To go beyond just an h/h fooling

Quick engaging read - wish there had been more background details about the P virus and Monarch's struggles immediately after the outbreak.

LOVE THIS BOOK! Could not put it down! Great characters. Monarch is the kind of girl you can see yourself being friends with, and Corbin... well... yum. The chemistry between the two is HOT! Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good romance novel!
