She’s never lived a normal life. She hasn’t been to school since kindergarten. And getting close to anyone is just too risky —

“I want her, even though the timing is awful.”

I have to say- I’m super sad that this is the last book in The Ivy Years series. I could continue to read about this group of characters for many books to come. I’ve totally binged on the audiobooks of this entire series and I’m not quite ready to move on. The Fifteenth Minute is DJ and Lianne’s book and the 5th book in this series. Once again, Sarina Bowen picked a topic that isn’t always talked about and wrote an amazing book about it

First off, a HUGE thank you to Wendy who helped get me this arc. You ended my suffering!! Muah!

The fifth book in the Ivy Years series, this book can techincally be read as a standalone, but so many of the characters from the first four books appear that I highly recommend reading them in order. Plus they're awesome so you should read them anyway.

I simply adore this series. Although some books are indeed slightly better than others, as a whole it’s well worth a reader’s time. This is Bella’s roommate Lianne Challice, the movie star, and Harkness’ hockey DJ, Daniel Trevi's story. These two were so damn cute together!

I was totally captivated by this book. College setting, sweet romance and a ton of fantastic music, combined with Sarina Bowen's magic writing style; made this the perfect story. I LOVED it!!!!!

One of the things that made me fall in love with this series was the way Sarina Bowen wrote her characters and their individual journey. Yes, this is NA romance but it's also more than that.

Lianne Challice is a Hollywood actress who came to Harkness to shed the image Hollywood had bestowed upon her. Despite being a popular actress, Lianne struggled socially at Harkness. She didn't really fit in anywhere. That is until she met Bella, who was the heroine of the previous book. Through Bella, Liann

DNF. I am so, so angry I'm shaking. This is one of the rare cases where I wish I could spoil the hell of a book, even though I only read four chapters. Judge me for this, I don't care. What annoys me SO much is the fact that this kind of issues should come with a warning, and the fact that it's only revealed on chapter 4 forbids us to do so. So I'll put my reasons for not wanting to read more under a spoiler tag, but know that if you read further, you'll know why D.J., the hero, is under investi

In one word? AMAZING!!!!
I loved it so so so much!
Lianne Challice, poor thing…
Wait a minute! Isn’t she like an actress just like Hermione from Harry Potter?
And doesn’t she make like, I don’t know, millions each time a movie is released?
Doesn’t she have fans all over the world?
Doesn’t she hang out with famous singers and actors from Hollywood? She even has a selfie with Bono. WITH BONO for Christ sake!!

I know Ms. Bowen's intentions were probably good when tackling this theme but the plot was soo clumsily done. I hated it from the beginning, because it perpetrates this idea that (view spoiler) are a dime a dozen. This is the kind of situation where one side was right and the other was wrong, but because the wrong side happened to be a woman, the author did some plot gymnastics to justify her behavior and paint her as victim. What she did had no excuse and ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this last story in Bowen's Ivy Years series.

Lianne Challice is a famous young actress who is taking some time away from her career to attend college at Harkness. Unfortunately, she's finding the whole experience to be way more challenging than she expected. Lianne is basically a social pariah among her new peers, with some students cruelly mocking her or downright avoiding her because of her fame. This totally sucks because Lianne is such a down-to-earth girl and som

I LOVED this book! It's got Sarina Bowen's trademark humor, hot sex, an irresistible hero and a smart, funny, and slightly insecure heroine. And she's a gamer! Plus there's a serious, very timely message underneath the fantastic romance. This story is fresh, modern and very relevant. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Sarina Bowen's books!!

This wasn’t my favourites in the series by any means, but I’m glad to have completed it. It was a generally enjoyable read, with a likeable hero and an okay heroine. I’m not really a fan of anything movie-star but the heroine was grounded.

NA is a genre that I struggle with these days, so it’s not surprising that this book didn’t hit the heights of some of the earlier ones I loved. It was also pretty light on the sports element, which was a shame.

Romance with a celebrity is one of my favorite tropes. I expect certain things when I pick up this kind of book. But The Fifteenth Minute wasn’t at all what I expected. The author used Lianne’s celebrity status to add more layers to her characters rather than to create drama and angst.

World knows Lianne as a gorgeous Hollywood star, but the real Lianne is a shy and nerdy girl, who want to be a normal college student, who want to fit in. It was great to witness her growth and transformat

This first love romance gave me squishy good feels. DJ and Li are both really likable characters who made me smile. Li's shyness and nerdiness even though she's this world famous movie star worked for me and DJ. DJ and her bonding over obscure music I liked a lot since I'm a music fan myself.

Maybe it's a little gooey because they're so smitten with each other and both are kissing bandits but I didn't mind. When they do get horizontal it was sexier than I anticipated. Bonus!

I liked this one a lot. I've been waiting for Lianne's story - and it was a difficult topic (hero gets accused of non-con sex before the book starts with another student). He is innocent - but the process of his hearing with the school is intense.

Bowen always puts in topics that are difficult to read. I thought she handled this one really well.

But non-con sex - be aware if that is a trigger. (although non-con doesn't actually take place). The accuser - I thought that was handled well at the end

My least favorite book in the series.
I was not happy with the second half of the book. It got boring. At about 70% or so I was thinking that I didn't care what would happen to these characters one way or other.

Lianne's character had so much potential but she ended up being a doormat and a pushover. (view spoiler)

It's no secret that I'm a Sarina Bowen fan. I think she writes beautiful books that fully engage you and make you believe you are part of the action. Her attention to detail without overdoing it is superb. It's also no secret that I love the Ivy Years series and that I was looking forward to this book with high expectations. With that said, this book did not disappoint at all, it was great!

A couple of things:

1. I wasn't expecting the serious aspect of this (I mean, I was expecting SOMETHING, since all the books have had something, I just wasn't expecting this particular something), but I think on the whole I was good with it. I could definitely understand being upset by it (view spoiler), but I think the larger point about colleges being ill-equipped to (view spoiler) is a good one because t
Oh, this is just lovely. And then in Bowen style, there is the zing of hard issues just under the surface.

We get a great New Adult romance mixed in with one of us is famous. The hero has every reason to stay away from the heroine but can't.

The romance that unfolds between them is so good and right and hot.

A must read!

Well, it's NO surprise this one was absolutely a JOY to read. I knew I'd love to hear Lianne's story and Daniel (DJ) was SUCH a sweet heart I just couldn't NOT fall in love with him myself. He had quite the challenge in this book, again I have to congratulate Sarina for bringing into her books unique subjectד that rarely being discussed. I love everything Sarina Bowen writes, not because I'm a stalker, but because her writing skills are amazing and her stories are all so unique even if all her characters are college students and athlets.
Lianne and Daniel (I prefer that to DJ) are unbelievably cute. They have their problems to solve but they accepts each other with their flaws and even if they are scared to fall in love in the end they understand that there isn't anything they can do other than try and trust each other.
