There is not much to "read" in this book. It is more about looking. There is some great work in this book and I really enjoy looking at it. I believe the Date Farmers no longer exist as an art making team, but I believe at least one of them (Carlos Ramirez) continues to make art on his own.(which is also awesome) This is inspiring stuff. 4 stars, only because I would have liked a little more text about the art. I will continue to look at this as it is currently riding around in my backpack. Their body of work is about the chicano/chicana experience in the Coachella Valley in California. The visual language, which includes some use of collage and sculpture, is stunning. Best reads pile. A nice light weight easy to transport book that gives you a great little sampling of what The Date Farmers were up to artistically at the time.
