The cover has got to be the most boring thing about the book, and nearly turned me off. I mean, with all the gorgeous street art in this book, why pick something that depicts none of that?

Just look at this.

So, if you want to see some really good street art, I would pick up this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

'The Art of the Mural Volume 1: A Contemporary Global Movement' by Shane Pomajambo with a foreword by Carlo McCormick is a survey of building murals from all over the world. This book is the first part of a 4 part series.

The 50 artists in this volume come from all over. Each artist, in alphabetical order, has a brief bio and examples from their work. There are also some thoughts from some of the artists. Some started as graffiti artists and others came at the artform from more traditional avenue

Such a gorgeous book, rich with color and imagination. This is a wonderful book with pics of murals all over the world and explanations of the artist and their works. I've lived in Philadelphia for a while and presently Los Angeles. These murals are all over the place in both cities. I think that it's great that artists can express themselves this way and it breathes new life into parts of towns that were at one time run down...not so lively. Great pictures and optimal choice of artists. Some of them are very well known here in Berlin, others were perfect strangers to me, but not anymore.

Bellissime foto e grande scelta degli artisti. Alcuni di questi sono molto famosi, anche qui a Berlino, altri erano invece totalmente sconosciuti per me, ma non piú.

THANKS TO NETGALLEY AND SCHIFFER PUBLISHING LTD. FOR THE PREVIEW!

Street Art
has evolved so much from it's early
days as "grafitti"
into a true art form
perhaps the best example of modern
21C art.
This is a beautiful collection
of street art from across the globe

I admit I know little about art other than I like to look at it. I enjoyed looking at so many styles of murals.

I received an ARC from NetGalley.
