Federico Andahazi
41 books132 followersFederico Andahazi is the son of Bela Andahazi, Hungarian poet and psychoanalyst, and Juana Merlín. During his adolescence, he began to read the classical Argentine and universal authors. He used to escape from school, that reflected the oppressive military dictatorship ruler, to meet with friends in bookstores and bars on Corrientes Avenue, emblematic place of Buenos Aires culture.
It was at this time when he began writing his first stories. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Universidad de Buenos Aires); he practiced the psychoanalysis a few years, while he was working on his short stories.
In 2008, Andahazi published his first book of nonfiction, Pecar como Dios manda, Sexual History of Argentines. The essay runs in an hypothesis through all his work: you cannot understand the history of a country if you don’t know the history of sex that gestured it.
With a prose that does not forget the novelist, the author conducted this first volume in an exhaustive investigation that starts from the original cultures and reaches the May Revolution.
Federico Andahazi currently is working on the following volumes of the sexual history of the Argentines and in various fiction projects.
His work has the recognition of the critical all over the world. His books are the subject of many reviews and studies.

ar merit 3.5 stele pentru ca e o lectura placuta si interesanta. un roman de factura gotic medievala, pornind de la un fapt adevarat, giulgiul de la torino.
de la giulgiu, andahazi fantazeaza o istorie despre acest presupus obiect divin.
povestea merge in 3 directii, foarte interesante. prima este legata de dogma,doctrina si relatia dintre biserica,pacate, iubire si realitate.
a doua este despre cum ar fi sa traim pornind de la principiul iubeste-l pe aproape ca pe tine insuti.
iar a treia parte este despre giulgiu si istoria lui zbuciumata.
mi-a placut in mod deosebit bucata despre biserica pentru ca rationamentele autorului vin sa intareasca o idee simpla-dogma si autoritatea ecleziastica asupresc si aduc teroara ca sa subjuge, nicidecum iubire,iertare si bunvointa. toate bazate pe o poveste scrisa in cea mai mate carte de povesti.

Una historia muy entretenida, llena de símbolos que pueden llevar a reflexiones muy profundas sobre el bien y el mal, las instituciones, los prejuicios, el egoísmo, la codicia y otros males tan antiguos como la humanidad misma; o que simplemente nos deja pensando en algunos de los mensajes de San Pablo tan intuitivos y sinceros… sobre el amor, la valentía, caer y levantarse y el que más me quedó sonando, tan simple y a la vez tan poderoso: “no hacernos daño”.

A very interesting novel whose scenario is drawn in the Middle Ages. The narrative starts very sharp and unveils a reality still present nowadays: the pedophilia inside some monasteries. All of it is permeated by the cruelty for which the medieval period is known.
I could identify some flirtations with feminism, because women characters are very important from beginning to the end of the book setting the destination of everyone (maybe you and me included) around them.
The written is a bit slow in the middle, with so many theological questions, but at the end the dynamic returns in full force, culminating in an epilogue that brings up extremely current themes - or, once the human nature is so bad and greedy, are they timeless?

Inicio prometedor pero a la mitad del libro se transforma más en un análisis religioso y se pirde la historia de 2 de lso protagonistas. La hostoria de ellos se retoma bruscamente con acontecimientos que no se relatan y no se sabe cómo sucedieron. El libro mejora en la parte final cuando retoma la hostoria de los tres personakes principales

En lo personal, considero que Andahazi es un maestro para contar historias. Me enamoré de su estilo con Las Piadosas y El Anatomista. La ciudad de los herejes es una buena historia, pero no de la talla de las ya anteriormente mencionadas.

Estupenda novela historica. A mi criterio uno de los mejores libros de Federico Andahazi. Describe un episodio del medioevo sin duda muy polémico. Muy recomendable.

Brutto, disturbante per il gusto di disturbare, noioso e ripetitivo. Dovrebbe essere la storia della sacra Sindone, ma è un pretesto per disquisizioni religiose e per racconti torbidi.. bleah

Una novela distinta. A mi humilde gusto, creo que es el segundo mejor trabajo de Federico, después de El Anatomista. En La Ciudad de los Herejes, nos hace ver que no todo lo que brilla es oro y que no debemos creer todo lo que se nos ofrece. El origen del sagrado manto de Turín y todas las peripecias de su manufactura. ¿Verdad o ficción? Ustedes deciden
