Rae didn’t and she sometimes took playing make-believe a bit far. Like the time a wizard hid a bottle of dragon beans in the back yard and left her son convinced he could grow his own dragons. Needless to say, the beans failed to produce and disappointments were had. That’s when T. Rae decided to funnel her crazy imagination into writing. She has since begun her young adult series, Her Dark Destiny (formerly Fate’s Journey), which can be found on numerous Amazon Top 100 Best Seller lists, such as Coming of Age Fantasy and Fairy Tales & Folklore.

Somewhat between 2-3, depending on the moment.
Fate is a young woman who is signing copies of her last book, and when the signing ends, her steps take her to her grandma's store, where she spent lots of time surrounded by books. There, she meets a sexy naked man (WTF?) and end up embarking on a crazy adventure: traveling through fairy tales to "fix" their outcome.
The characters are well fleshed out, and we have weird moments, like when she discovers he is one of her creations (WTF is going on here? As if meeting him naked wasn't enough hahaha), and the feelings between them seem to be beliable, from lust to love (although at the beginning it seems a bit forced. Had I been her I would have probably called the police on him instead of telling him to keep burning the books on the bookstore to keep warm), and the part where we are presented with the fable and then their story sems to work.
There is a lot of good moments between the characters and n the story, although sometimes I was reminded a lot of the character of "the Writer" or "creator" that appears on "Once Upon a Time".

playing with fairy tales can get you hurt!
Fate writes fairy tales so one would think she'd be prepared for the weird things that happen in them. when she is spelled into a book whose tales she must make right, Fate finds it is easier to read the story than be the story. collecting friends and love along the way must be able to deal with the consequences of her choices.
I found this to be a charming collection. the age range flexed between young and older teen due not so much as to the occasional love sparks but to the vocabulary. the characters was a nice mix and the changes of scenery played well although there could have been more. all in all, it was a fun read

I struggled to finish this book...had I not been reading it for book club I absolutely would have stopped around the 25% mark. Fate is whiny and her relationship with Finn is totally ridiculous. At some point early on Fate commented how she wished there were only four fables and not eight, I TOTALLY AGREE! It was a 500 page book that really needed to be 300 max.
Reviewers have commented it is similar to a Court of Thorn and Roses...don't be fooled like I was, they are not similar.

Really intersting and unique book
Think the Pagemaster meets unique stories plus magic. Really good book, and I'm on to the second installment. There better be some happy endings!

Fate Floyd est une jeune auteure de fantaisie. La chance et la malchance s’expriment à 200% dans sa vie, et cela a toujours tendance à l’étonnée même après toutes ces années. Son père, Eustache, la suit dans toutes ces aventures. Il plaît à toutes les femmes, y compris son éditrice, Lana, qui a presque une vingtaine d’années de moins.
Ils se retrouvent tous les trois en plein comic-con du livre de Fate. Les fans ne cessent d’accourir. A tel point qu’après une nouvelle interprétation des lecteurs, ceux-ci commencent à se battre. Il faut dire que le roman est à propos d’une guerre incluant les gobelins, les elfes et les demi-humains...
T. Rae Mitchell se présente comme une junkie de fantaisie. Elle ne sait jamais s’arrêter. Elle écrivait des histoires pour ses deux jeunes sœurs. L’auteure préfère voir la vie au travers de la fantaisie, ce qui peut donner quelques aventures hilarantes à base d’attente que les haricots magiques poussent ou de découverte d’un œuf de dragon dans un jardin...

Okay so this was good, don't get me wrong. But it was a bit too long. By the time the characters made it to the seventh story I was getting way burnt out. Especially the teenager soul mate thing. I am so sick to death of teenagers in books discovering deep spiritual love. They're kids. And even in a fantasy book it is unrealistic. It wasn't all bad though. It had some fun moments. The characters were fun, the adventures had some good bits. Overall I enjoyed the story.

Such a great series, I couldn't put it down! This is the first part of the series just so you know, the second book is coming out February 26th. So it's not the complete story, be warned!
The characters are so vivid, you really feel for them. I was drawn in so completely, you get to personally know the characters and you are rooting for them. You get to see Fate and Finn grow as individuals, which was fantastic. I really can't say enough good things about this series. It's labeled as YA, but as an adult I immensely enjoyed it!
I loved the fact that the fairy tales in this story were way more Grimm, less Disney. No sugar coating and fairy tales happily ever afters, these are some gritty tales.
The ending, oh that ending though. I loved it, not your extremely predictable fairy tale ending. I know some were upset it ended the way it did, but I thought it was prefect.

Proving above all that words are the most powerful weapon
Fate is a teenager who's also an author. After a book signing she has an invisible pull to go back to her family roots. Once at her families old book store she finds many surprises.
He doesn't know how he got here but he knows he is drawn to the girl that just walked in.
Now these two are thrown into a book and must read and rewrite the fables endings. Simple right?
With twists and turns around every corner these books keep you on your toes!!!!
Will Fate and Finn end up together? Can Finn forgive Fate? Turn the pages and enjoy the adventure!!!

Fate's Journey
This Was certainly a different sort of fairytale . The plot was interesting and had quite a few twists and turns . There was enough action and suspense to hold my interest, but some of the fairytales seemed to end a bit too abruptly. Just as you were beginning to develop a relationship with the characters of the story, it would end and you would be transported to another fairytale.... Only to have to go through getting to know other characters and just as that story gets really interesting it abruptly ends as well . I absolutely loved Fates ability to write things into existence. I wish I could do that !!!

It can be hard to find a fantasy adventure that's refreshingly original, and Fate's Fables fits the bill. I always looked forward to reading more of this book, for its shifting settings and suitable characterization. With that said, there are some issues I have, such as the beginning chapters which seemed too contrived. The plot can also be a little exhausting since there are so many climaxes (there's virtually one for each of the eight fables), and some of the individual stories feel more like fantasy epics than actual "fables." Nonetheless, the journey of Fate and her waifu/new boyfriend was pretty enjoyable.

The concept of this book was interesting. The different fables and needing to fix them and how they went about doing it was engaging. The romance between the H and h was okay, but the tension that was there because of the potential darkness was both interesting and annoying.
Overall this was a great read and it ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, so it made me immediately go to book 2. (But after that, it was a major letdown. So I think this should have only been a stand alone book. It was certainly good enough to be so.)
[I also highlight typos and grammatical errors when I come across them and this book had NUMEROUS errors of that sort. Your instead of You’re. Etc.]

Amazing! Fate is a girl who has terrible luck. One day while she's in the middle of a book signing for her book "Magic Brew" she leaves and goes to her grandmother's book store there she meets a man. They get sucked up into a giant book where she finds out he is not just anyone... Through out the story she has many difficult obstacles and also has to deal with her not-so-normal relationship. She meets great characters who become her friends and help her along the journey. The story ends on such a great cliffhanger, I can't wait to see what happens next!

Found it confusing and parts, and boring in others, and just couldn't get in to it, even though made myself read it to the end since never review anything have not read totally through.
Most confusing was that amazon and goodreads does not list this book with the same title so basically had to wonder, then click over to see if the one had just read on amazon was the same one.
The 2 stars is to equal the amazon stars, NOT the meaning, which give up on trying to do, the meanings between the 2 is also too confusing.

It worths 2.5-3 stars. To be honest I don't remember the two or three fables because I stop reading it for awhile and I picked reading again after two or three months maybe more. But from the rest I read and remember it was good. It could be better but I had fun reading it. I have to admit though that I lost interest at the last ramble so I don't know what happened. I don't think I will continue it.

The storyline on "Fate's Fables" was excellent! I couldn't put the book down. It kept getting better and better. There were a few grammar and spelling errors and the use of "these ones," which is like scratching a chalkboard with your fingernails to me. Eeek! Luckily, she only used it once or her editor missed that one. But, all in all it was a great read! I had to continue the story and read "Fate's Keep."

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It was listed as a recommendation through Amazon so I figured I'd give it a shot. While some parts did drag, and some of the conversations were repeated over and over throughout, there were enough twists to the story to keep me interested until the end. And I will add that the twists are pretty imaginative!

Excellent! Loved Every Story!
I happened upon this set by accident, but I'm SO glad that I did. I would recommend this set to anyone who enjoys unique fairy tales or great just fantasy & story telling. Sithias is my favorite character.

Best book I've read in a while
Action Packed. Thrilling. A story that moved me as it hopefully will everyone else who chooses to read it. Great story line and an amazing love story.

Wow!
I loved this book. Very well written. It kept me totally interested right from the start. The twists and turns throughout just kept me waiting for the next exciting adventure. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Very enjoyable, clean read!
Many great elements to this story! Magic, mystery, romance, & action. I did get annoyed at the main character's excess of whining in the beginning but she grows more throughout the story. Very enjoyable, clean read!

Great set
I enjoyed reading this fantasy boxed set. It reminded me of the Inkheart series by Cornelia Funke, but with many different twists & turns. I'd recommend this series for any fan of fantasy and the power of words and YA literature.

I don't know what to say. I liked it, I think. It was confusing at times. But yet I still wanted to keep reading. I'm annoyed it seems to just abruptly end. Yet I do want to read book two and find out what happens. My response to this book is so very odd.

By far one of the best books I have read in 2018. I felt like I was reading the best selling book Inkheart. Well written with different plot twists with each of the eight adventures but woven together by the characters seamlessly.

The equivalent of a shrug.
There are a lot of reviews that suggest this series gets better. I couldn't bring myself to care. YA doesn't have to have watery characters or frenzied plot lines.

Like book one a little more, but this was a lot of fun. Very imaginative, well written, and does a good enough job of wrapping up this book though there is another to come--waiting, impatiently.
