Plagued by insomnia, the narrator walks the city looking for something, for someone to bring him peace. Then he finds Lillian, the puzzling, seductive stranger -- or does she find him? They are instantly drawn to each other in intimate and unexpected ways: each of them finding what they need, at least for awhile. But before they get too comfortable, Lillian alters their un ...more

*This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review*

If you’re the kind of person who needs everything spelled out, then this is not the story for you. This story is complex, weird, claustrophobic at times, and mysterious. The narrator of the story is a lonely man who just wants a companion. He finds it through the mysterious Lillian, when they meet at a store one day. She goes to him when she needs to but nothing arousing or sexual happens between them. Lillian is not a nic

As in the movie, Dead Poet's Society, with Robin Williams, he asks his student to describe a feeling during one of his classes. I feel that description fits the relationship portrayed in this novel. It is like a blanket that is too small. you can pull and tug, but it will never be enough to cover you and keep you warm or comfortable.
The narrator in this story is male. We never learn his name, which I kind of like. He seems to float through his own existence with very little worry, and very littl

I’m always looking for something just a little bit different, a little bit outside the norm. So when the author offered me his book to read, I hopped over to check it out on Goodreads. I liked the synopsis, and the title and cover were intriguing. Seemed to fit the bill as new and different. I had my fingers crossed.

I’ve got to hand it to the author. I was looking for something outside the norm and he delivered. The creatures, beings, things, not humans, are original. I’ve yet to read anything l

“Leech is a macabre, thought-provoking and beautifully frightening tale that pulls you in and takes you far away from what you know and subliminally sweeps you along challenging your sub-conscious with its towering span of incredible storytelling.”

The story is narrated by a male protagonist who is plagued by insomnia and is looking for someone to share his lonely existence with. He meets Lillian in a drug store and they soon become friends, while sharing a st

Let me start off by saying this book is really unique. It's not my normal read at all.

I have to say that the writing is great, but the storyline is a bit strange. It was like I was reading a book based on a sci-fi show. I'm pretty sure I've seen a show similar. It follows a man and woman who have a very unique relationship. He takes from her and she takes from him and one of them is not altogether human and so everything is not what it seems.

The writing it very descriptive and it's like you are

I wanted to eat the words with a spoon!
This book is so finely crafted -- what a beautiful blending of human longings, poetic wording, and a hint of the supernatural. I recommend it to literary types who really like to get lost in the words
