Leggings Revolt was okay. I found it kind of unbelievable that the WHOLE school would wear leggings to school to protest the new dress code. I didn't like some of the things in the book, as I found them stupid. I also didn't care for the principle.

I didn't particularly like this story all too much, since I didn't see a problem with the original dress code. I did think that add leggings to the list was silly, (view spoiler)

Eric and his buddies Rory and Phil have transferred from an all boys' school to spend their 7th grade year at Lajoie high school (this is set in Canada). Their new school smells better because it has GIRLS. Eric is especially interested in them and attracted to several, especially Daisy, whom he remembers from early elementary school, and Rowena, who is an interesting character. When some of his friends are rating girls' butts, he gets drawn into the conversation but immediately regr

The topic of how women dress, and if they wear clothing judged too revealing or in any way suggestive that they are somehow deserving of disrespect—or worse—by men needs discussion. Unfortunately, it is a discussion we repeat over and over again every few years as some horror or another comes to light and is picked up by the media. Through novels like this, where readers live in the skin of others affected by this issue, ideas niggle in and take root, perhaps inciting opportunity for discussion ...more

Eric is starting secondary school in Montreal, and finds that he has to take a stand on the sexist dress code. Nice humorous tone, but real issues and appealingly characters. Great realistic fiction for 5/6th grade readers, very short but sweet!

It was a quick read for a middle school audience, or a interesting read for EAL or older students who are struggling readers.

This was such a easy read. I was able to read it in a day. But it was pretty decent. It shows that standing up for what you believe in makes all the difference.

Short and sweet! I think the way the principal was dress coding people was a bit unrealistic, and maybe the writing wasn't the best, but it was a light and easy read with an awesome message!
