"to this day I can't be sure whether Monkeys swim under water". is rather an unusual way to start an autobiography which is a tad disappointing to say the least, only ever having bought his comic relief collaboration I wouldn't exactly call myself a fan but he lived through some interesting times in the entertainment industry, and to be fair he does come across as being honest and free from the self importance that others are prone to although it is selective at times. where it falls down is that I would say it the amount of proselytising that goes on which leaves the biz aspects skimmed over or missing entirely. not a bad book from the 1970s but not a great one either.
