Britt DeLaney lives and writes steamy, frequently hilarious romance near Philadelphia. She also writes YA under her alter ego, L.E. DeLano. In her spare time she watches too much Netflix, eats too many Pop-Tarts, and is currently writing her ass off.
5 STARS .. Loved it. Love can overcome any odds. Zeph and Rina love the sea, almost as much as they come to love each other. thanks to goodreads for the ARC. I highly recommend this fantasy romance as the perfect cheer me up read.
Wow! This is my first book by Britt DeLaney and I really enjoyed it. I’m trying to read all my summery and sea adventure books quick before the fall gets here. DeLaney has talent; she has the ability to transport you to the story she laid out immediately when reading. I loved all the surprises along the way of Rina and Zephyr’s journey. I really appreciate the fact that I had no idea where the story was going and what was going to happen either. The book will keep you entertained and on your toes. So if you like sea-faring, fantasy romance, give this one a try!
I enjoyed this story. It was steamy but also fun twist to it. Each of the characters wasn't expecting what they got but I'm glad they found each other and also the adventure as well.

Rina and her brother Aven are looking to find passage on a ship to escape their father, who is trying to make Rina marry and evil man. They end up on a pirate ship, after Rina agrees to spend the next eight nights with the captain, Zeph. As the two get to know each other, Rina is more than she initially lets on. But there are communication issues - fights and misunderstandings, which cause trouble for the pair. This was an interesting premise, but the two were so childish in their fighting that it was hard to stay interested in the book.
This just didn't really work for me. I read it for a GR reading challenge and, had I not needed a book in the "pirate" category, I probably would have given up before I finished. I didn't connect with either MC - and because of that, I really didn't care what happened to them. The premise was a decent one for a fantasy erotic romance, but the execution just fell short in my opinion.
