This book is well organized and presented, with great sidebar ideas for games and activities using yoga with children.
I was excited to be able to review a book on this subject matter, but I found myself very conflicted, often not agreeing with information being presented, and further, conflicted with what comments to make as only a reviewer, and not a professional in my field.... I will include only one of my conflicts here, to give you an idea

I was thrilled to receive this book through a Goodreads giveaway. I loved the clear text and descriptions of yoga poses, and the cute illustrations were super helpful. A variety of poses are explained: warm up poses, standing poses, floor poses and wind down poses. I will be referring to this book again to refresh my memory of certain poses, and to show the illustrations to my child.

I would like to thank Smith Publicity for a free ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an open and honest review.
What an informative and interesting book. I found it a great the way it helped answer some of my questions and concerns about children doing yoga, as well as offering some great advice on how to make it more enjoyable for all involved. The routines at the end were fantastic too as it gives the reader some helpful instructions to start with while also encouraging and inspiring ...more

I received a copy of this from the publisher via NetGalley. Thanks so much!
As a yoga instructor, I'm always on the lookout for books to enhance my teaching. I've never taught children but figure there's no time like the present to start dipping my toes into that side of the yoga pool.
I can see where this book would be good for teachers who already run classes for children. Even more so, this book probably should be read after the main book, The ABCs of Yoga for Kids, as my hunch is that book has ...more

I received The ABC's of Yoga for Kids in a Goodreads Giveaway.
The cover is adorable and appropriately marketed for kids. (Two cute happy trees!)
The book discusses all things yoga and its history, and a CD is enclosed in a pocket in the back cover. The book has cute illustrations, is very informative in a fun way, and is written at an appropriate level for discussing with children. Its structure is very well laid out and flows easily from one section to the next. I especially love the side bars ...more

Activities are described a little vaguely so I would suggest you are familiar with the ABC's of Yoga for Kids book. Since the pose names are the ones used in her book and not necessarily the mainstream yoga pose name you may not know what pose she is talking about. There are several illustrations of poses in the book but I still suggest buying this book as a set instead of on its own.
I feel like many of these activities would be good for pre-school to kindergarten age children.

Review from Raising Fairies and Knights
This is a good version, very informative, to help parents guide their children through different yoga poses. It lists a sample yoga series guide by age as well as different health benefits yoga can aid with. I actually already had the children’s ABC Yoga book, so this was a great accompaniment to go along with it. If you deal with children a lot and want to teach yoga this is a good guide to look at and get some ideas.
