Caress Galveston has her work cut out for her. The one man she wants above all others is playing hard to get. He admits they’re mates, yet he won’t take the step to make her his. If only he could see past all the women chasing him, he might decide their nine year age difference doesn’t matter and she is worth the leap.
Ford Giovanni is a changed man. The moment he set eyes on the most headstrong wolf he ever met, no other woman would do. But with his past lovers still trailing after him, the problem will be convincing her of his faithfulness. And he won’t mark her as his until he does.
Being smart and sassy with a great sense of humor comes easily for Mahalia Levey. An avid reader of books, she found herself enchanted with disappearing completely into the worlds authors created. One day she vowed to herself she'd be one of them. Then family life came, and college right after. Swayed from her childhood course of action, it took many years for her to get back to that place she held dear as a child. Now she is running full steam ahead to keep up with the many ideas flowing freely. She plans on taking her work to higher levels and expanding her genres. Her main focus is giving her readers variety. Her works in progress include paranormal, fantasy and mainstream romance. Taking characters and watching them grow past what she’s imagined is her true passion.
In her personal life, she vowed never to own a minivan and has so far succeeded in not being the soccer mom. The proud mother of one teen and two pre-teens is not easily flustered. Between sports and art classes for the eldest, she takes time out during the day for herself. Her one love, best friend of twelve years has finally caught her. They bought their first house together and are compromising over interior decorations.
Caress and Ford. I found this hard to digest. The characters were interesting but constantly contradicted themselves. They would say one thing, but not follow through or do the opposite. So it was a lot of telling but not showing or following through. It got very annoying. I did essentially like Caress and Ford. But the whole thing was just too choppy and disjointed to get a real grasp of their relationship. The book blurb doesn't really match the story. He had been holding her at bay, but only for a few months. He is 30 and she is just shy of 21. He had been doing ONS before but you never meet any of them. There's just vague references to women 'looking' at him. Ford would act devoted, but only up to a point. Only at his convenience, it seemed. I felt that Caress was 'It' for him, but only as far as he wanted her to be. There was no equality in their relationship. She did act immature after she had a very traumatic experience, but he had been giving her seriously mixed signals since they met (and right through to the last page). The author kept trying to tell me that Caress was a kick-ass heroine who could take care of herself... but Ford treated her like a little girl. Make up your mind author! Anyways, essentially I felt Caress was a doormat by the end and Ford only 'loved' her because she was his fated (and somewhat inconvenient) mate. There really is no plot... what-so-ever, so I won't bother trying to re-hash what little story there was.
All in all it was very disappointing and unsatisfying.
safety is ok

I love Caress. Yes she is a spoiled brat and yes she is just shy of 21 but she makes up for it by being real. We met Caress and her brothers in Seducing the Schoolmarm (Black Hills Wolves, #16) and actually got to see the first time Caress met Ford. Caress was not in a happy place. Her world was being totally changed. Yes she knows her wolf but she wasn’t raised in a pack and thus there are things she hasn’t been exposed to. Ford is a control freak. He has had to be as he left home at 15 to take care of Luck his nephew. He knows Caress is his mate. He just can’t claim her. She is 9 years younger than him and she has trust issues. When Caress is forced to defend herself and her BFF and having trouble with the fallout Ford has to step up and protect her even if it is from herself. Maybe she can teach Ford to loosen up. I love this book. Watching Caress grow up and Ford fight himself and his nature kept me turning pages.

Well what an excellent addition to this series. I was lucky enough to receive this as an Arc copy for an honest review. This book was entertaining. Adventurous outrageous free spirited young woman who has been bought up around non shifters has a very outspoken attitude to her mate, she wants him but he's older and thinks she needs to grow up mature and learn more about the shifter community, until Caress and her friend find them selves in a very bad situation. Ford then realises he needs to step in and be the mate Caress needs.

Mahalia Levey is another new author for me to read. I have to say she got me right into the box. From the beginning I was hooked, it lag several times but all in all to story was HOT.. Caress Galveston and her twin brothers, Ravage and Raze lived in Colorado with human. Very seldom did they run as Wolves but that was 6 months ago. Ravage wanted Caress to learn about Pack life so they moved to the Black Hills, Los Lobos with Drew as there Alpha. Caress belonged to a fight Club in college and her brothers drilled into her how to fight so she could defend herself. One night two guys who wanted some action followed and ramed her SUV sending Caress and Myanna (Caress BFF ) in a tail spin, causing the SUV to shut down forever. Calling for help Caress knew only she could defend them. When Myanna screamed out Caress noticed the second man cut her from here mouth to her ear. That was it for Caress leaping onto the man Caress's wolf torn him to bites. And than she did the same to the other man just when helped arrived. She was protective of Myanna, Caress's wolf wouldn't let anybody near. But when she changed she was devastated. On top of that, Ford Giovanni was one of the Wolves to come help, she just couldn't face him. He had every women for miles, could get and had his pick. But he was older than Caress, 9 years older and also Caress's Mate. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

I loved revisiting Los Lobos and seeing the siblings Ravage, Raze and the very surly and independent Caress Galveston.
After having been saved from very dire ramnifications for participating in Underground Fights in College by big brother Ravage, Caress has finally accepted that she will have to live on Pack lands and even finds her mate, 9 years her senior Ford Galveston. Problem is she lets her human side dictate her actions and when she finally lets her wolf take over to protect her best friend she is devasted.
Ford Galveston has finally met his mate and his wolf wants nothing more than to mate Caress, but he is stumped. He is very proud to see her finally let her wolf instincts take over, but doesn't know how to get her to accept what she has done and decides it's time to take her away from her over protective brothers and knock some sense into her. Caress doesn't make it easy though and he has a heck of a time trying to get her to not only accept what she is and what she has done, but to also mature into the woman he wants to mate.
Ford doesn't make it easy for Caress either, he makes her angry and frustrates her to no end because he won't give in to her teasing and passionate desires.
It was so much fun to see the battle of wills between these two, I enjoyed it immensely, I laughed, cried and jumped for joy throughout the whole story, so will you.

First of all let me just say I received this book as a free read in exchange for an honest review.
I have just finished Promiscuous Wolf, if I could use just one word to describe the book? I would just say wow!
It's been a while since I read a paranormal romance where the love scenes seem to set the pages of the book, or in my case my laptop on fire from the heat index! I'd be lying if I said that the scorching scenes weren't one of my favorite parts of the book, but they also weren't the only thing that made me like it!
I've read many stories were the characters are so well put together that to your mind's eye they become real, so real that if something terrible happens it makes you want to root for them and hope that they make it through ok.
Caress Galveston is one of those characters, I find myself drawn to her. Mostly her personality, I love how strong she is and how she doesn't pull any punches!
In my opinion, Promiscuous Wolf is quite an interesting read, I'll say this right now I'll definitely be on the look for more Mahalia Levey books both in the Black Hill Wolf series and away from that world!
I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.
I have to say that i love this series...and this places me in a hard spot.
The story was awesome it really was but...
it was not well written and i felt like i was dropped in the middle of a story with lots of holes .
I don't think this book can stand as a standalone so i guess there must be another book in the previous ones in the series that completes this one annd it helps make sense.(unfortunately i still haven't read the whole series....but i am getting there.)
There were moments that i really didn't know how we ended up where we ended up and others that its like a new whole chapter had started and you were dropped in another scene.
I found it disappointing as it could really be awesome and in some parts it really was but in others not.
But to not be unfair if there is in a previous book the missing part then this whole book makes sense and its a great one.
I am sure i don't make sense but if you piece two halves you get a whole.
Wow what a really great read I always love when there a strong heroine that can kick butt Caress doesn't disappoint she's feisty, sassy, and stubborn as all hell. The story was filled with lots of action to keep turning the pages the chemistry between Caress and her mate Ford scorching hot Ford is definitely the epitome of a Alpha male. Overall I enjoyed everything about this story. Looking forward to reading more about this series.
I got this in exchange of an honest review, I love wolf shifters a lot this one has one hot wolf shifter I loved it a lot awesome characters charming plot captivating flow and action the passion the lust the sparks were amazing I love sparks so recommend this to everyone
I loved the book. I wish it was like longer! I wish Mahalia had put in the book when Caress & Ford met. She just mentions it. I hope she tells us Razes story also.
Oh my God! This was fucking intolerable! Mahalia Levey, I am so sorry, but this was bad; I cannot finish this thing.
Caress is 20 but she acts like she's 15. At first I was with her when it was revealed that Ford wouldn't mate with her just because she was "too young". He's only 29 and they're mates; as long as they're both legal, it shouldn't matter what their ages are. But then as the story progresses, Caress starts to act like a child. Ford meant the problem was the actual age gap, but so far Caress is showing me she's too young for him in terms of maturity, and I don't believe that was the author's intention. She also slapped Ford a lot, which I really do not like. (If the roles had been reversed, most people would call that abuse, but in these romance books/movies, it seems to be ok for a woman to slap a man simply because he's a man.)
I really did not like Ford as a Hero. Ford was a dick; he was condescending and unclear with his intentions towards Caress. One minute he's there for her after she had to kill those two gross men in self-defense, saying he wish he had been there, and then he's thinking, "I don't have time for a broken and too-young-for-me female." Then he's moving her into his cabin without asking her-- after all this time of trying to ignore the bond.
Ford was also kind of crude. Towards the beginning he says "I don't fuck disobedient women." And later on he referred to fucking her as a reward. What the fuck?! Who says shit like that, and who says that to their mate? After that, I just got this oily, yucky vibe coming from him.
Since I couldn't force myself to read one more line of this, I stopped right after that fucking weird scene in the bakery where Ford gets upset with Luck, his nephew, for telling them to get a room after seeing them make out. Ford gets irrationally upset at this and starts to go after Luck; Caress tell Ford to stop (just once). He doesn't stop, so what does she do? She takes off her shirt and bra to get his attention, of course! It literally says: "Okay, words didn't help. What would I do in any other situation?"
Are you kidding me?! Caress is supposed to be some bad-ass shifter who fights; she was undefeated in an illegal fight club in college, and she killed two grown men after they went after Caress and her friend. You're telling me that the first thing she does to get Ford to stop is to show him her tits? She can't think of doing anything else to stop him? Am I the only one who sees how utterly ridiculous and nonsensical it is for Caress to do? It's completely out of character for her, with all her bravado and more violent tendencies.
This book felt like it was all over the place and the characters seemed to be floundering in the situations the author put them in. I don't know what happens next, but I'm not wasting my time drowning in this book along with the poorly-written characters.
As for the writing itself, there was something off about it. The flow was weird and kind of choppy, and the POV switched back and forth in the same chapter. It's one thing to have an omniscient narrator, and it's a completely separate thing to have alternating POVs. But an author completely disrupts the flow of their story if they suddenly change the narration style in the middle of their book.

Promiscuous Wolf by Mahalia Levey
Caress Galveston has a mate who was made just for her but who doesn't seem to want her. He admits they are mates but makes excuses to make it a permanent relationship. This hurts Caress but she won't let his lack of commitment keep her down.
Ford Giovanni changed the day he found his mate. She is beautiful but too young for him, and she's a handful. But he wants her and he knows she wants him but something is still missing in their relationship and he won't take her as a mate until they can sort things out.
When Ford decides his had enough and wants his mate in his house, it makes everything more complicated because he won't mark her until she trusts him. With his wolf pushing at him to mate and her lack of trust, he takes control.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the storyline, it was very entertaining. I loved the characters. Caress, a strong-willed, take-no-shit attitude from anyone kind of woman, especially her mate. Some may say she's spoilt but I would say misunderstood, frustrated and yea a little young. I really liked Caress, she has spirit. Ford, a very dominant alpha male who likes to be in control but he also has a soft side, which shows with the ones he cares about. I liked the combination and relationship between Ford and Caress, it worked really well. I did find though that some of the information was a bit snippy at times and there were a few problems with the grammar. But overall I really loved this book, it was a very enjoyable read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, reading from start to finish in an evening. It’s the tale of a young wolf, who finds her mate when she and her brothers move to this little Shifter town.
Caress and her brothers seek a sense of refuge in this place, leaving behind the mess that Caress found herself in through her fighting while studying. Now I should say at this point that it might help to read ‘Seducing The Schoolmarm’ where Caress meets her mate for the first time. But not 100% necessary. :)
Even though I have not (yet), this was still a great read. :) Ford her mate, is older by 9 years and insists on waiting till she matures in his eyes, even though she is. She’s forever getting into strife and at the start has a major event to get through, though not of her doing initially. More how she copes with the aftermath of action she had to take for safety reasons.
This is an intense read, spaced with humour over their strengthening relationship as Ford finally lets go of his views and takes her finally as his mate. There are the other characters included, but it is their story essentially and a good one! :) It is full of emotions, sad, pain and humour, then plenty of loving. It should be read in one go, as it flows so well.
Now I’m looking forward to reading the other books with the other characters and their relationships. :) Thanks again for the chance to read and enjoy. If you enjoy Shifter stories with a little difference, you will love this. :)
Wonderful Story!!! Headstrong!!! Stubborn!!! Willfull!!! Caress and Ford Fulfill All These Adjectives And More!!!!
Promiscuous Wolf
This book is the storyline of Caress Galveston and Ford Giovanni.
This is the second book in the series and there is a lot of backstory in the first book by Mahalia Levey "Seducing The Schoolmarm". I did not read that one first, and was able to get by but you missed on how Ford and Caress first met and discovered they were mates.
This book centers on them coming together as mates. There is an incident at the being of the book. Caress and her best friend Myanna are coming home from a day in the city when they are rear ended. Then they are hit again. A truck is trying to run them off the road. It finally smashes into them and crushes the back of the SUV Caress is driving. They are forced off the road. In order to save her and Myanna Caress has to do smething she has to resolve with herself later that she has problems with.
Ford finally starts getting closer to her, but she feels it is only because of the accident, and she tries to push him away. He takes some drastic measures in turn. He also investigates her past to make sure there is no further threat to his future mate, and learns more about her.
When she finds out what he has done sparks fly, and what he does to find out trusts break. Will they be able to survive?
Read to find out!!!
This is a great book in the series, but I recommend reading Seducing the Schoolmarm first to get the most enjoyment out of it!!!
This is another really good addition to the Black Hills Wolves series. I have been picking away at this series, and even though I have not read them all or even in order I did not feel like I had to go back to other books to understand this one. I loved Caress as a character and really loved her name. I kept waiting for Ford to just come in and take over but he showed great restraint and patience in the book which made me love him even more. I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book in this series.
If the synopsis and the book actually matched, this could have been a winner. Instead it is about a dominant wolf who is more interested in raising his mate-to-be instead of getting to know her and realizing she is perfect for him as she is. I am very surprised that this book had so many good reviews, considering the emotional inconsistencies and cliched damsel in distress scenes. For a supposedly strong female character, those scenes only serve to make the woman think it's okay the male in her life is a jerk because he just saved me. Ridiculous.
Well we have another great book to add to the Black Hills Wolves series. Caress is a very strong character and is a good match to Ford. These two need to get on the same page and the path to that end is interesting. I enjoyed this story and didn't want to put it down. It is a must read at 5 stars. I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
