The Pup’s Tale

Rate this book
It is Trump’s job to help the sick animals and Trump’s dog senses are so acute she often draws conclusions before the humans have even begun to think! Trump tells the stories of the animal patients and their families and provides young readers with animal tips, vocabulary words, and a new understanding of the animal world. This is a book about a veterinarian clinic and the happenings. It is written at about an 8-year-old level. The main character is a dog named Trump, and it is book #6 in a series meant to appeal to younger kids and sell at school book fairs. Israel recently bought it at his school book fair. I think he liked that it was easy to read, but other than that was especially into the story, which is pretty generic. I did like that it teaches vocabulary to the reader by separating terms into small boxes with their definition. Overall, a very boring read.

First, I made the mistake of reading this book to my kids not realizing it was book 6, and I wouldn’t recommend reading them out of order because even though each story is on its own the characters were already developed and mentioned as if you know who they were and what they had been doing so that was weird.

As for just this book alone, I didn’t think it was quite that good because the main pup from the cover doesn’t come in until half way through the book. It didn’t seem like it was the pups take as much as it was about Trump’s day to day vet stuff.

I'm reading this children's series with my son, and we both really enjoy it. The vet's dog, Trump, is full of heart and spunk. She is patient and always willing to learn. This series would be very good for a child who wants to be a vet or for one who just loves animals.

This was a really cute one! When Tiny’s mom couldn’t feed him, we were very interested to hear Dr. Jeanie’s suggestion! Cute story that we both enjoyed.

I liked a dog named Tiny. He was very small. All he would do was play. His mommy Goldie wouldn't take care of him because she didn't have enough milk. She had lots of baby dogs. He needed another dog to take care of him named Trump.

I liked Tiny best because he was so cute.
