This book is the quintessential guide into amateur astronomy. You can really hear the passion for star gazing in the writer's voice. Everything is explained in simple terms. There is so much that I learned from this guide that dozens of other books left out. Full of practical illustrations and maps, this is the first all encompassing astronomy guide that I have found to be so exciting and relevant in years. A must read for beginners and experienced observers too.
