Taking hikers to some of the most scenic sections of the fabulous Grand Canyon National Park, this book includes short descriptions and maps of seventeen easy day hikes in the park. Hikes in this book are fairly short, usually (but not always) without big hills, and are on well-defined, easy-to-follow trails.
Ron was a writer and naturalist. He is the author of 16 hiking guidebooks covering much of the western U.S. In his writing career, Ron logged in over 10,000 miles of trails to produce his books. I bought this for the North Rim hikes, which we took 8 out of the 11 featured. I was pleased with the hike descriptions & I like the miles & direction part. Some of the hikes are on the long/difficult side, but we were able to just do part of them.
There are 6 hikes for the South Rim that we haven't had a chance to try yet.
