I may be a vampire hunter.
But I’ve single-handedly screwed up big time.

After botching our chance to cure vampirism and the infection that’s killing me, I’m at a loss. My cousin Carl won’t speak to me. The bastard who killed my sister is still alive. And Jude, the amnesiac vampire, says he’s in love with me.

What’s even more shocking is that I love him back.

**** 4 Cranky Stars ****

Mayhem! Anarchy! Death! This is what will happen if Anthony (our Lord Voldemort vampire) takes the Progenitor position.

Edie and Jude race against time and the infection spreading through her veins to put a stop to Anthonys reign of terror on her and her family. Being the Harker has its advantages sadly they are working against her in this second book. With her family by her side and some new hunters and vampires along for the ride they set out to piece together how to sto

This is one of those books that I would easily give a 4 star if I should have read it in a different mood. Because of my mood I wasn't fully feeling it, it just barely hit that 4 star mark. But overall I did think it was a great read and I did enjoy it, the dark feel just didn't work too well in my current mood. I had a busy week and didn't get a lot of reading done, so it felt as if the plot was moving quite slowly at first. I felt like the star

Wow! I am literally full of energy after reading this book. It's so suspenseful and addicting! I need the next book NOW, but alas, I haven't seen an announcement of when it will be published. Erin Hayes, write faster! I need my Jude and Edie fix.

The trilogy continues with Edie Harker and Jude. The head of the vampires, the Progenitor, is in hiding, and Edie is in search of Anthony once again. However, without her left arm and the scar spreading ever further on her body, Edie is beginning to lose

Great book! I like Edie and Jude and everything they go thru together. I am worried about the new Progenitor now. I will have to read the next book it find out what happens next. Ending was a little sad for me but hopefully the series will end better. I guess I will find out soon.

Sometimes, the second book in a series will be a letdown and you wonder if you should continue reading. However, in this case, the second book is better than the first (which is saying a lot!)

Edie Harker continues to try to save the world from the evil vampire, Anthony, but things just keep getting worse. Now, not only is the virus he infected her with spreading faster than ever, she has botched up a chance to cure herself and rid the world of the vampire curse. Will she be able to fulfill her d

Evie seems to have messed up the chance to not only cure vampirism but also herself. Add to that her cousin Carl is no longer talking to her, her sister's killer Anthony is still at large and Jude has confessed that he loves her. Scarily he might be a vampire but Evie is in love with him too - problem is as Jude rediscovers his past there is a risk that both Evie and Jude will be torn apart. Add to that the little problem of having to find a new Progenitor while the old one is in hiding and life ...more

These books...are brutal on the shock system, the emotional system and the whole "gasp" factor.

This one being the middle of the trilogy holds the centre of the story.....its got pretty much everything you can even think of chucked in there. Good guys, bad guys, questions, some answers- that only lead to more questions with dead ends....
Romance, blood, death, fear, hope, loss, new friends, new bonds, new abilities....

I cannot get enough of this series. Erin Hayes has written an amazing series and one that will be added to my favorites list. I encourage anyone who enjoys vampire/vampire hunter books with an amazing back story, likable and relatable characters and a heartbreaking storyline to purchase this series asap! I honestly cannot say just one thing I enjoy about this book. It hits you right in the feels though, Erin Hayes is able to crawl into my head and heart and make me feel the heart wrenching fear, ...more

This is Book Two in The Harker Trilogy & begin's right where book one left off. A dark paranormal romance that is destructive & full of death. With a suspenseful plot with plenty of twists to keep you on your toes. And characters that are compelling & engaging. I like how it's told in dual point of view as it gave us a good feel for both characters personality & thoughts. As it ends with a cliffhanger I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this paranormal romance series. I volunteerly ...more

Damn depressing

Well I guess it is good for a second in the series but wow is it depressing when everything seems to go to hell in a hand basket. Good writing and a good story line make reading this book easy but wow will the Harker and Jude ever get a break? Loss of an arm, lack of sleep, Jude and his revelation of the missing years I would have checked into a mental ward but Harker just keeps on trucking. It will be interesting to see what book three brings. Happy reading .
I've really liked these books so far.
They're a lot darker than some of the vampire stories I've read recently so if you don't like too gruesome things I wouldn't read it.
There's more betrayals and Jude finally finds out who he really is. It's a non-stop action fest with some adults scenes and gruesome fights.
We get some more ghostly interactions and by the end of the book I was on tenterhooks and now have to wait for the last one to see if the disaster can resolve itself!

Holy smokes! Poor Edie, poor Jude, poor Carl! Seems like everything they try to do whether good or bad blows up in their faces! This is another book packed with drama, action, and tons of suspense while Edie, Jude, and Carl try to save the world from a deranged, crazy, just plain mean vampire! I'm anxious to see what happens next. I THINK I have an idea of what's going go happen. Let's see if I'm right!!... ...more

This book is all kinds of good

Well anything that could go wrong, actually did in this book! Not sure how much more this group can take but I'm ready for the final book to see how it all ends. The chemistry between Edie and Jude is really good and the action wil keep you reading.

Building more on the world and the characters developed in the first book, it's interesting to see this turning into an all-out war/apocolypse, which is pretty cool. Finding out more about Jude's past and learning he wasn't a savory character tempers the waters between him and Edie a little, but I love that she trusts him enough to begin developing feelings for him (that he shares for her). ...more

OMG!!! This book series is awesome!

Poor Edie and Jude just can’t catch a break. His evil brother is on a quest to unleash evil on earth the likes which humans may never recover from. Edie is trying everything she can to stay one step ahead of Anthony but all her progress is for nothing when he keeps destroying all her plans and allies.

Oof, this one got really dark by the end.
If it wasn't for bad luck Edie and Nude would have no luck at all.
And after all the bad that happened I have no idea how they are going to come back from it. But I enjoyed the read and will definitely be jumping right into the next book.

Fantastic book. Very well written. Could not put it down. Has twists, action, adventure. Have loved the characters from the start. Starts right off from the first one. Leaves you hanging with your mouth open at the end. Can not wait to get to the next one to see what happens.

I gotta hand it to this author—she really doesn’t make things easy and perfect and happy for her characters. Most books are predictable in that you know certain characters won’t die or that certain terrible things won’t happen, but that is not the case with the books in this series. And as someone who likes books that are darker and unpredictable, I appreciate that. I thought t

Wow! Book 2 did not disappoint!

After reading book 1 of the trilogy, I was a bit unsure if I would like the next book. Then to my surprise, everything I didn’t like about the first book or felt needed work on had been addressed in this book and more.

We follow Edie and her band of vampire hunting bandits. Secrets had been revealed to her near the end of book 1 and a tragic event left her physically unable to do her duties alone. Ever faithful Jude is mercifully still by her side and a gri

I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book provided by Xpresso Book Tours and the publisher. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

I stand firm with my thoughts. This series just gets darker and grittier with each chapter. There were moments in the book where I had to stop a second, put it down, stare blankly at the wall while my thoughts went on a rampaging strike.

"Did that just f***ing happened?"

With the ending of the first book, this book continued from the tragedy that struck

No sophomore slump here! Damned If I Don't is even better than the first book! Wow!

Edie is even in a worse spot than the first book, but at least she has Jude at her side as she tries to find Anthony (the baddie) and stop his quest to become the most powerful vampire in the world. Edie doesn't come across as angry as she did in the first book. If anything, you can see her taking all that negative emotion and using it to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles in her path. She gets shaken u

Really good story. Interesting, entertaining and enjoyable.
I need to go back and read the first book.

The story pulls you in from the start and doesn't let go. Love the world and story line the author has created. Plenty of action, drama, and suspense.

Edie a vampire hunter who is in love with a vampire. That's just the tip of the iceberg for this story, but I don't want to spoil the adventure for anyone.

Ends in a cliff hanger - but the ride getting there is worth your time.
My only complaint is
