As a reader I’m no stranger to cliffhangers, but let me tell ya, Linda Poitevin’s two year wait did a number on my patience! I was hoping that the character death that occurred in SINS OF THE LOST would be magically fixed because well, if anyone can pull off a miracle it’s an angel book, yes? However, SINS OF THE WARRIOR had other plans. The story was dark, the death toll high, and the happily-ever-after wasn’t overly chipper. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t have had it any

This one was for all the marbles. Seriously. Armageddon is here and Alex is caught right in the middle being crushed under the weight of her losses. How does one come back from all this loss while working to prevent the end of the world? This book shook me up, broke my heart, and yet it was one of my best reads this year.

As the fourth and final book of the Grigori Legacy series, this does not work at all as a standalone or out of order. The worldbuilding, characters who have been around all the

Strong finale to an excellent series.

If you like your UF dark and are tired of the same old vampire/shifters/witches themes, the Grigori Legacy series is well worth a look. The premise involves the struggle between angels, the fallen, and the nephilim and humans who become embroiled in it. These beings, other than the beauty and wings, bear little resemblance to their counterparts in various religions and have little use for humans' ideas of them. If anything, they suffer from some very

I really suggest you don't read this review if you plan to read the series, because there are some bad things happening. The short review is: this book broke my heart.

Alex's niece is missing, taken by Lucifer. Her sister is in a mental institutionafter suffering a break from reality due to these events. Her ex-lover has turned evil and wants nothing more than to own her and has tasked Hell to find her. This is enough to break anyone, but Heaven isn't done with her yet.

Poitevin does not disappoint! So dark, but brilliantly and beautifully written!

Let's put aside the fact I've been waiting for this book for, like, forever! Let's also ignore that I just loved the previous 3 books in the series, that I'm a little biased and that this finale is, absolutely, the cherry on the cake! Let's put all that aside, just for a moment, whilst I try share the unbelievable emotional effect this book had on me.

Poitevin doesn't just write a damn good story, she writes a story

Sins of the Warrior is the fourth and final book in the Grigori Legacy series by Linda Poitevin.

The blurb tells pretty well what Sins of the Warrior is about, saying more will be giving too many spoilers away and after the long wait we had to do for this installment I think the reader should be the one discovering those details. What I can tell you is that Sins of the Warrior is worth the wait.

Since Sins of the Angels (first book), this series has

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I had no idea this was the 4th in a series when I requested it. However it did such a good job explaining what was going on, I was able to get the context and understand without having read the first 3 books. And without over-explaining or making it so it would be

In this thrilling final chapter of The Grigori Legacy Alex and Michael will have to put aside their differences because the clock is ticking and heaven is losing the war.

Alex thought she had more than enough to handle but now Michael’s has returned and he’s demanding her help tracking a missing god and the reader can’t help but get pulled into the latest rollercoaster ride of events as they face impossible decisions and unimaginable sacrifices. 3.5 for this book.
This book carried on with the momentum and pace as the 3rd one and I was glad it didn't slow down.
It made my heart ache, it made my heart soar, it made me not want to put it down and it made me kind of happy with the ending.
I was so glad Alex kept fighting even though she literally lost everything. My heart ached so much for every time but she still kept fighting with the same spirit she began with and I'm glad that didn't stray.
I like the way Emmanuelle was written into it

Wow.... The restructuring of Heaven and Hell as played out on Earth, as seen through the eyes of a Nephilim.... How do I describe my reaction to the engrossing narrative of the personal pain, the ethical choices, the struggles suffered by a Nephilim and an Archangel to preserve humanity? I don't think that I can describe my reaction toward the grand scope of the author's vision of what the world could be after an almost Armageddon. You have to read and experience this urban fantasy (what a pale ...more

This story is gripping and i read every word...and i wept. It is so lacking in hope and grace. Why are such good angels thrown down with no one to help them? What hope does mankind have? This story is beautifully written, and so depressing. If you suffer from depression, then do not read these books. I was a person of faith, and I wept with grief. There is nothing to believe in. Nothing.

Fantastic Series

This series has been filled with heart wrenching angst, choices pulled from the soul, and real, raw characters. This book especially had a great many unexpected turns, woven with skill. I would recommend this series to any lover of urban fantasy.
Extra 1/2 star.

Oh, I quite enjoyed the series as a whole. Also, poor (view spoiler)!

[Full disclosure: I received a free ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review.]

One of the things I've found in a lot of books is that if the main character's 'soulmate' dies, they come back by some miracle or were never actually dead in the first place. But oddly enough, the Grigori Legacy doesn't play with those rules as it's not the sort of book to have a cut-and-dry good versus evil plot. It definitely doesn't follow the conventions of the urban fantasy genre and despite missing

Sins of the Warrior is the conclusion to the Grigori Legacy series, one of my all time favorite dark urban fantasies. Telling readers who have been following this series they should read this one is kind of preaching to the choir. Talking about the events that happen would reveal spoilers for you and anyone that might want to try this series. So I'm gonna tell you why I love this series and why you should give it a go.

This is an excerpt from my review of Sins of the Lost (book #3). I feel like I

Alexandra Jarvis is still having trouble with her love life, the Earth is close to going to hell (literally), and the One is dying. In the midst of all of this, Alex is still trying to do her job as a detective. When Heaven decides that Seth needs to take back his powers to keep the Earth from falling apart, they decide the best way to do that is through Alex. However, someone from Hell is bound and determined to win him over to their side, so they can be assured to win the war that’s coming. In ...more

After a few pages, I began to get confused about what was happening. Nothing made sense, and references to past events, relationships, and characters, made me wonder if I'd missed something. Turns out, I had - the first three books in the series. They look like my kind of urban fantasy candy, but unfortunately I can't find them at any of my libraries (because the author is Canadian?). Since I can't read the first three, and the fourth doesn't make any sense as a standalone, I'm going

A dark urban fantasy about choosing your future, accepting the consequences of your actions, self-sacrifice, power and responsibility, leadership and power vacuums, believing that humanity is worth saving, refusing to be helpless, and compassion. This last book, in which Alex has lost everything – and soulmate, family, and job – is haunting, emotional, and tragic. She has a fierce will to live but she needs something to hold on to, and the greater good is not enough. Alex is at a strange and ...more

This is an awesome conclusion to an amazing series.

Some things happened in the previous book that devastated me. I will confess I wasn't sure if I could bring up the energy to root for Alex and those who are close to her. But I was wrong. Soon after starting this book I was invested again and I couldn't put it down.

My favorite character was gone, but Poitevin made me care for those who were left. Alex and Michael have to fight impossible odds. At times things seemed hopeless, but still they

Things get dark here. The snow is swirling; the roadblocks are piling up. This is the time for tough choices.

I love the character development + the plot . These people are real, and I am invested in what happens to them, and I want to shout at the book to meet my reader angst! I have not read the previous novels, but after this one I am DEF going back for the whole story. I can already tell this is a series that I will devour more than once.

Loved it! A fantastic conclusion to a great series. I devoured each book in the Grigori Legacy. The apocalypse is here so it's little surprise that the fourth book is even darker than the earlier ones in the series and wonderfully so. I love Linda Poitevin's writing and read all her books now.

This was a wonderful book, and a perfect ending to this series. Even the moments that ripped my heart out. And there were certainly enough of those. I loved every moment of this series and am a little sad to see it end, but it was a good one.
Interesting premise and well written. Felt the series went on a bit too long.

Will now read other books by Linda.

Keep up the great work.

The concept of soulmates is amazing. Alex has gone through so much and I love her toughness, her determination. And Michael/Mik' words.

Initial Thoughts: This is a tough review to write. Though the novel flows and is logical, it's sad. But how could Armageddon be happy?!? I wish I had read at least the previous novel if not a complete series reread before picking up this last book in the series. Took me a bit of time to get into it as I had to remember all that had happened in the previous three books. My heart absolutely ached for Alex as well as Michael (Mika'el). The theme of choices culminated in this book along with ...more
