Perhaps one of the strangest books I have read in a while. With an main purpose that consistently evades readers, and the author alike, this memoir meanders through numerous stories centered around a particular First Nations casino. The author stops occasionally to explore history, philosophy, and psychology. While some of these excursions are noteworthy, the majority are a tedious exercise in subpar acedemia. I was pleased to have won this book in a recent Goodreads First Reads giveaway.

Although it is well written, I did find it a struggle to finish this book. I do enjoy trying something different from my norm, but on this occasion it wasn't a book for me. Loved the cover! I believe this book would appeal to those who are, or have, been in business.
