Once you've chosen a main dish for dinner, do you ever wonder, "What shall I serve with this?" There are always the old standbys to fall back on but some recipes scream for something more than boring rice or plain pasta. On the Side is a collection of recipes that are simple, fun, and fabulous that will add delicious variety to your meals.
Every side dish category is Vegetables, Rice, Pasta, Salad, Dressings & Sauces, Bread, and a category called "Everything Else" for the recipes that don't quite fit in the other categories.
This book includes a handy Menu Guide that matches appropriate side dishes with each meal in Dinner is Ready. Plus a suggested Complete Menu is on every recipe in the book. Use the suggestions or mix and match recipes according to your own preferences. There are endless fabulous combinations.
Whether you make them now or freeze them for later, whether you use the menu guide for side dish suggestions for recipes from Dinner is Ready, or you just want more choices of side dishes, you'll find these recipes a welcome change from boring pasta, plain rice, or humdrum green salad. And no more wondering, "What shall I serve with this?"
Beautiful 400 page 6" x 9" softcover cookbook contains more than 350 side dish recipes. Many can be frozen - all simple fun and fabulous. Easy to read. Large print format. One recipe to a page.
Most of the information was the same as in the Dinner is Ready book, but there were a few nuggets of new info included. Mostly they have the 3 separate books just for different recipes [which isn't what I wanted the books for]. Still, if you're looking for a new way to prepare meals in advance- and you need lots of recipes- these books will get you started!
Breads, Sauces, Dressings, Salads, etc. Great book if you already have her Dinner book. It gives suggestions on what side to serve with each meal from her original book. There were about a dozen new recipes that I want to try out - one of them being Mashed Cauliflower. Not all the sides are "freezer-worthy" though.
I actually bought this cookbook! Yes, it's just side dishes, but a lot can be used for main dishes using one's food storage. I like it better than a lot of food storage cookbooks, eventhough that is not this cookbook's original intention.
I'm tickled with the fact that this cookbook gives suggestions for side dishes to compliment the recipes in "Dinner is Ready." I tried the coconut shrimp with orange marmalade dipping sauce and it was heavenly. There are so many recipes to try; so little time. But this is a winner.
