Review by Samantha: "I enjoyed reading this book so much I didn't want the experience to end. I found myself laughing so many times I ended up needing a tissue. I felt for Suzie and really wanted to be there for her. I love a book that can do that to me. Her narrative flows naturally and her reasoning for her decisions and for what she shares with the reader make perfect sense to me. Thank you for sharing your story with us." We received an ARC through the author in exchange for an honest review ...more

My Review:
This is a mixed review...just because this is a tough book for me. I read it all the way and never really considered DNF'ing the book because the book is definitely engaging. I was caught up in the story and wanted to know how everything would play out and what exactly has happened over the years. The book is told in a series of flashbacks as well as current time for the book.

This is the story of Suzie. The book takes place during her ten-day trip to Acapulco with her best friend Janic

This review has been crossposted from my blog at The Cosy Dragon . Please head there for more in-depth reviews by me, which appear on a timely schedule.

Suzie’s current lover is pushing her to set a date for their marriage. The only thing stopping her is the fact that she is already married to a man in Mexico. When an old school friend is planning to go there, Suzie jumps at the chance to set things right, and move on with her life.

Romance. Romance, romance, romance. I forget that I generally don

ACAPULCO NIGHTS by K.J. Gillenwater was a fun filled read, with a few serious moments thrown in for good measure.

The story in this book was very well written and developed, it is written so well that you would believe that it could happen to anyone (I mean we all take tropical vacations) and the plot is fast paced and will have you busting a gut laughing so hard during some parts of this book. The characters in this book are very well written and Suzie will make it easy to follow her through he

I was sent a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I’m going to be honest here, this isn’t a book I normally would have picked up for myself. I’m generally not a fan of romance novels, especially ones involving characters older than myself. That being said, this book was somewhat of a pleasant surprise. For one, it most certainly is not a romance like I expected it to be. I found myself drawn in pretty easily and the frequent jumps between flashbacks and the main narra

ACAPULCO NIGHTS is Suzie’s story. During her time at college in Mexico, Suzie was wooed and won by Joaquin, eventually resulting in their courthouse wedding. After the wedding, Suzie’s father died and she went home to the States to be with her mother and never looked back. Twelve years later, Suzie has found the man of her dreams and now she must get a divorce from Joaquin in order to marry her fiancé, James. While the story was interesting, I didn’t like Suzie or Joaquin. My favorite characters ...more

Great read.

Could a naive, foreign student resist the flattery of a suave countryman? Each chapter will leave you anticipating the next. Friendships are tested and the question of whether one is destined to find one's Soul Mate is explored and ultimately answered.
The kindness shown between the two former lover's of the countryman might be difficult for the reader to accept. The reader may find after knowing all circumstances, this relationship had to evolve in this manner.

How can a young, naive

Acapulco Nights by K.J. Gillenwater is magnificently stunning. The plot is incredible. Readers will be sucked into this exciting and adventureous trip as they follow Suzi. Suzi wants a divorce from her Mexican husband and no one but her knows they are still married. Soon things get more stressful and much more complicated. Where will Suzi's heart lay at the end? Acapulco Nights is definitely a novel I would recommend to all. Entertainment, fun, and highly suspenseful. Reader's won't know what to ...more

Acapulco Nights by K.J. Gillenwater is a story filled with adventure, travel, consequences from decisions and actions made at 19 years old, friendships and inability to trust. It is well written and has complex characteristics especially the main one, Susie. It is not predictable This is Susie's story. I did have trouble with Susie not being able to to be truth with her friends and current fiancee because she had married and never divorced. This was not my normal read but was an interesting read. ...more

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was fortunate enough to receive this book through a goodreads giveaway and I'm glad I did. I loved the plot line and the relationships between the well developed main characters. There's an interesting twist which made it even better. I definitely can recommend this to anyone interested in a book that's not your run of the mill romance. .
