Wendy Cheyette Lewison has written many books for children, including a Bank Street College Children's Book of the Year, Going to Sleep on the Farm. She lives in Westchester County, New York. —(from Simon & Schuster's website)
A fun rhyming book that the kids liked. Definitely aimed at younger readers who will enjoy the rhymes and the predictable nature. May bore older readers (say, grade two and up).
Although the demographic that this is aimed will not notice, I was a little perturbed that the book depicts painting live eggs. Eggs are porous and that would poison the chicks. I didn't tell the children that, but it did make me mentally wince as I read.
