Planted with Hope by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore is the second book in the Pinecraft Pie Shop series. It is the beginning of a new year in Pinecraft, Florida (a Mennonite, Old Order Amish, and New Order Amish community) near Sarasota, Florida. Matchmaking is going on behind the scenes for Hope Miller and the temporary schoolteacher (filling in for his sister), Jonas Sutter. Jonas is a widower from Kentucky with an eight-year-old daughter named Emma. Jonas is instantly attracted to Hope when he ...more

The second book in the Pinecraft Pie Shop series, Planted With Hope focus on Hope Miller’s life and her love of gardening. We are reunited with her sister Lovina and her soon to be husband Noah, and other folks we met in the first book.
We travel the picturesque streets of Pinecraft, Florida, and spend our time with the plain people. As the book opens we meet preconscious Emma eating a double dipper, what a mess and our Hope comes to her aid, and she does it again in a more serious situation.

Book Two of the Pinecraft Pie Shop Series.

Hope Miller has always enjoyed gardening from the time she was just a girl. After her family moved to Pinecraft Florida Hope had tried to plant a garden in the sandy soil but was unsuccessful. Wanting to return to Walnut Creek Ohio she had written to her cousin Eleanor asking if she could move in with her family and help out with the children and do their gardening.
Jonas Sutter and his young daughter Emma had come to Pinecraft for the winter, so he coul

As Hope stood, she looked down at herself and heat rose to her cheeks. She was thankful that the boat ramp sloped downward so no one could see her from the park.

She was a dripping mess. Her dress and apron clung to her. She crossed her arms over her chest, unsure of what to do. Unsure of how she was going to get home. The park was full of people and she'd have to walk right through the middle of them to get out of the park.

I've wanted to travel to Pinecraft, Florida to see the Amish/Mennonite c

This is the second book in the Pinecraft Pie Shop Series. I absolutely love reading about Pinecraft, Florida. The Amish community there is one of a blending of Old and New, Mennonite and Amish. They may be eclectic but they make it work. And as the saying goes, "What happens in Pinecraft stays in Pinecraft." may not always be true.

Hope Miller is one of the Miller girls. She feels as if she lost her identity when they moved to Pinecraft. She loves the soil. Gardening is the one area that she exce

This was a wonderful story about a young woman who loved the peace and quiet of working her own garden, but ultimately must choose whether to stay in her comfort zone or open her garden and her heart. I could relate to Hope's need for quiet and time to herself. I've never really done gardening myself, but I could understand the satisfaction of seeing the results of your hard work. I really enjoyed seeing Hope grow in her relationship with others and with God. I especially enjoyed a prayer time s ...more

Planted with Hope is part of The Pinecraft Pie Shop Series. I have thoroughly enjoyed Planted with Hope by Tricia Goyer & Sherry Gore. They are two very talented ladies. This book touched me in such a way. What a wonderful reminder that you need to have faith and Hope. You will get to catch up with characters that you met in the first book and get to meet some new characters. Characters that will surely touch your heart with their story. There is never a dull moment in this story. There is s ...more

Lovely story with yummy recipes!
I tried two recipes and loved them both, but then adapted the second again for a third pie. The Luscious Lemonade Pie was my favorite, while the hubby loved the Peanut Butter Pie. I can't wait to try more recipes though like the Sausage and Potato Soup now.
The story follows a young Amish woman as she blends into a new society. She meets the man of her dreams. Then develops a closer relationship to God. The way that the authors told this story, I really liked a lo

This one is better than the first one in the series (which was pretty lovely).

Hope is a loner, hiding between the voices of the world in her garden. But after relocating with her family to the Pinecraft, she has neither her garden nor her place in the society. She had been Hope the gardener, the one with the green hands - now she is one of the Amish girls. She is trying to protect herself by finding her hiding place - but isnt she closing herself too much?
Jonas is a widower and a new person in

Tricia Goyer has written another book that has touched my heart. Hope, a younger sister of the Lovinia (the main character in book 1), is a gardener. Her heart is most at peace when she's growing her vegetables, but the hot Florida climate and sandy soil is quite unlike the growing conditions she had up north where she grew up. As a gardener myself who moved from New England to South Carolina, I immediately connected with Hope. I also felt her joy when her sister donated the lot behind her pie s ...more

"Who thought being Amish would be so popular?" ~ Hope Miller

Another beautiful book cover and story!

Planted With Hope focuses on the second oldest Miller daughter, Hope, and the challenges she faces with herself and her new community of Pinecraft, Florida. This story included a returning cast of lovable, down to earth characters as well as many new faces. I was happy to see the Amish Proverbs and recipes make another appearance, and I enjoyed the addition of the World War II journal Hope was giv

I'm really off on Amish novels right now :P

I really enjoyed this book. Absolutely feel in LOVE with Emma the little girl. I couldn't put this book down. The characters really drew me in, and the Christian parts of the book were really convicting and I enjoyed reading them. Sometimes the "preachy" portions of a Christian book feel forced, but I didn't feel that way in this book.

A fun easy-read, with recipes in each chapter. I would recommend if you like Amish novels.

Two green thumbs up! I can so relate to Hope's introverted ways and her love of growing things. In fact, this book combines two of my favourite pastimes -- reading and gardening -- so call me a happy camper.

Moving to Pinecraft, Florida has been a difficult transition for this farm loving girl. Hope is all about the four seasons: the anticipation of spring planting, the summer nurturing of a garden followed by the autumn harvest. Not to mention the bliss of winter planning for the following spri

Planted with Hope is the second book of the Pinecraft Pie Shop series written by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore. We head back to Pinecraft, Florida to the story of Hope Miller.

When Hope and her family moved from Ohio, Hope had to leave her beloved garden behind. The garden is where Hope has always felt peace and solitude. The soil in Pinecraft is not the greatest for growing a garden and Hope feels lost. As Hope developes a plan to return to Ohio she unexpectedly meets a young, motherless girl, Em

“Planted With Hope” is the second installment in the Pinecraft Pie Shop series by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore. This was the first book I had read in the series, but it won’t be the last! This book is a story of friendship, faith, and love that will keep readers coming back for more.

Planted with Hope is the delightful second installment in the Pinecraft Pie Shop series by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore. Tricia and Sherry make a great team as they combine their individual talents and strengths to write this series. The unique Amish setting of Pinecraft, combined with the interesting history of World War II victory gardens, provide an enjoyable backdrop for this story of hope and love.

PLANTED WITH HOPE is the second book in Ms. Goyers and Ms. Gore's The Pinecraft Pie Shop series, but it easily stands alone. Fans will want to read about the beginning of the pie shop in the first book, Made With Love.

I can't say I was really a fan of this book. There is zero sexual tension between the hero and the heroine. He is still mourning his deceased wife, but his daughter needs a mother, and Hope seems the perfect candidate because she loves Emma. Hope wants a garden where she can be al

Reading Planted with Hope by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore is a delightful, poignant, and satisfying experience! There are no characters in this novel; only dear friends whose lives are unfolding before you. Each friend is developed so well that you feel their pain and cheer at their triumphs. Although I have never been to Pinecraft, I felt drawn in and welcomed.
In addition to the strong faith, spiritual growth and the tentative steps into romance, this novel incorporates recipes that are built i

I really enjoyed this faith filled inspiring story.
I especially loved the characters of Hope Miller and Noah Sutter, and his daughter Emma. Their story is one of hope, love and what can be possible, when we open all the areas of our hearts we keep protected,
out of fear and doubt, to new possibilities new ideas, and new love and choose to trust God's plan for our lives.
I also enjoyed all the recipes in this book, and look forward to making them soon.

One of the best books on teaching you to trust God with your life and listening to the plans he has for you.

This book has two of my favorite subjects, Amish and WWII. We follow Hope on her journey of finding herself since moving to Pinecraft, FL with her family a bit ago. She does that by taking up her favorite chore, gardening. She has many up and downs on her journey but she finds the best prize of all - her true love - our Lord God in Heaven.
