Bred for Love #3

A Royal Rebellion

Rate this book
Hunted by the crown, Prince Edward of Cassia struggles to adjust to his new reality. His consort and lover Percy is pregnant with their child. Their friend, Abelard Reynard, a former captain in the Royal Guard, never strays far from Percy or Edward, determined to keep them both safe. Edward, no stranger to hard work, is still at a loss when the hardship of a life on the run catches up with them. Percy's pregnancy progresses at a rapid rate, and the palace guards are always a step behind. It takes Reynard's skills from his secretive military career, an unexpected ally from within the Cassian Dynasty, and the love between Percy and Edward to keep the three of them safe as Percy's time draws near.

Keeping themselves safe and together may have been their goal originally, but as the trio travels across Cassia, through the garbage-strewn alleys of abandoned hamlets, to the opulence of the nobility's drawing rooms, the effects of their journey leave behind a lasting impression.

A rebellion is brewing in Cassia...sparked not from the lashes of oppression and cruelty, but born from love and a desire to see all of humanity treated as equals.

The final book of the grand love affair between prince and slave comes to a riotous conclusion in A Royal Rebellion.

Here we find out the family secret, why the King is crazy and the depths he’ll go to in order to succeed.
This book splits the country and the royal family. Edward, Percy and Reynard run for their lives as secrets and lies are revealed.

It’s all building up ready for the forth and final book. And because I’m late to this series I thought I’d move straight on but it’s not out yet. I’m gutted I should have checked first.

I'm sooooo happy that I found this series way too late because if I have to wait for the 4th book of this series for over a year, I'll literally die with frustration. This whole series has been just a delectable delicacy and I really can't get enough!!! 🤓🤓🤓

So Edward was finally able to escape confinement of his father and both Percy and him along with their bodyguard Reynard were on the run. Percy’s pregnancy is ripened and the baby is coming soon. They have to escape from furious hands of Edward’s father aka the King. Do they leave everything and escape to another country where there is no slavery and build a new life? Or return to the capital despite all those assassins and face Edward’s father, the evil monster king, and become a much and urgent needed ruler of Cassia? Everything he loves is on stake. The safety and happiness for himself and his mate or an all or nothing battle with the evil king? Things are heated and intriguing.

I did not see that coming about Reynard and Mason. I mean, Mason didn’t even seem to be a good guy at first with his crudeness and sarcasm. Who knows the elder prince was abused and tortured for many years and a broken toy himself. I’m so happy that he was finally able to be with his long lost love! I love such surprises and twists in the plot.

This book is more about building up dramatic storyline and supporting for the grand finale book. Nonetheless, still spectacular. I will never get enough of Percy and Edward. I even wish there are more books in the series. Now, all we can do is wait for the publishing of the final book in the series. And I’m counting the days and stalking and nagging Himes. 😂 Fingers crossed🤞that she won’t kick me out of her fan group or block me on FB.

I'm also sooooo happy that Edward and Percy's child inherit the very vivid trait of Percy. The icy blue eyes!!! Omg! Loveeeee it! 😍
Can't really wait for the next book. I just can’t! 🙄🙄🙄

What an exciting sequel in this action packed mpreg series.

Percy, Edward and Reynard are still on the run from the crazy king. And we find out why the king wants his own family dead.

I really liked this addition to this series. Percy really came out of his shell in this one. The love between Percy and Edward was as strong as ever and we even got a couple of hot sexy times, while on the run (always time for sex, yay!).

I can’t wait to read the 4th book, although it seems the author is writing that one forever. But I’ll try to be patient...

All I have to say after finishing this is - WHEN IS THE NEXT BOOK COMING OUT?! (I know, it says spring...but that's soooo far away!) I want it now!

This was, in a word - excellent! We finally get answers as to why Edward's father acted the way he did, towards Edward, Percy, and their child. And wow, it's a doozy! And I LOVED Reynard and Mason together, I was glad that we got so many different POVs in this so that we knew what was going on with everyone.

But above all else, I loved Percy in this one, since he really was gaining confidence and becoming his true self in this one. He spoke up for himself and definitely had more personality than the previous stories. And this is probably my favorite mpreg series, since it just kinda...works. It's explained genetically, scientifically, and it just all works for me. It's a modern day story, but set in a different world. And he and Edward are totally, ridiculously hot together.

You definitely have to read these in order since they build on one another and is a continuing story, but I say give this one a try!

Full of suspense, tension, and excitement as Edward and Percy do everything they can to elude the mad king and prepare for the birth of their child.

Dark secrets are revealed and it's up to Mason and Edward to expose them in order to save themselves and the men they love.

Told from the multiple POV of Edward, Percy, Mason, Reynard, and Princess Ari, the story's pace is fast and exhilarating, there's intrigue, sexy times, romance...and it ends with a cliffhanger.

I'm really enjoying this series quite a lot. It's got great characters and writing and is plotted well. I can hardly wait to read the next, and final, book!

Unfortunately the last book in the series hasn't been published, but the author says it's in the works so I'll be over here waiting for it to hopefully come out soon.

OMG so much has been cleared up with this one. Of course, it's still left on somewhat of a cliffhanger...but the happy is constantly building so it's worth the wait.

Still a little confused over Mason & Reynard's attachment to Percy. I mean, I get some of it...but it still seems a little, well, sexual. Not that I mind; poly is one of my favorite things ever so...I wouldn't be mad at that if it were to go that way. (Not that I think it will.)

Can't wait to get my hands on the 4th installment of this series. King Henry is so going down.

(Still with the weird word choices/misspellings? and grammar inconsistencies, though. I wish I had this series in .doc form so that I could go through it and append it with suggested changes in comment boxes and red text corrections!!!)

Let me say this - AWESOME! I loved this book. It was all I expected it to be! I love palace intrigue, family dirty laundry out for everyone to see - the higher they stand the harder they fall!

Percy and Edward survive by the skin of their teeth. The way Edward struggles with adversity is admirable especially when he has an "aha" moment about himself as a man and a prince. Still he is very protective, loyal and an awesome support to Percy. Percy is so different. He becomes stronger and braver. My little firecracker!

Mason is a new face that holds all the cards and finally reveals everything. Who would have thought what kind of depravity is covered up, how many lives are ruined by one man. But the best secret of all is the love he has for Abelard Reynard whose story is told here too. I loved those two. There wasn't much about them but it was so hot and sometimes sweet with how they were together.

The whole book was like one big hot air balloon ride for me. I got in for the exciting ride at the beginning and as I read more and climbed higher it was even more exciting than I thought it would be! I am still flying high! It was so good! I totally recommend it and the whole series. I know the last book is still in the works! I hope it will see the light of day but still even without it this was a very enjoyable read for me!

BE AWARE THAT THIS SERIES ENDS ON A HUGE CLIFFHANGER THAT ALL THREE BOOKS HAVE BEEN BUILDING UP TOWARD. PER THE AUTHOR, THE BOOK WAS EXPECTED TO CONCLUDE IN SPRING 2016, BUT WAS NEVER COMPLETED.

This book was just great and very suspenseful to read until the end. I had read all three books in the series, expecting it to be a trilogy with a conclusion to an issue that had arced across all books in the series. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until the last few pages that the book was not going to resolve and end on another cliffhanger. The author writes at the end that readers could look for the fourth book in Spring 2016, but the book was never written, although she does still write under other pen names. (She provides a comment with her explanation on GoodReads reviews, which I didn't discover until after finishing the third book, as I don't normally read many reviews before starting a book.) I wish the Amazon & GoodReads descriptions had been very explicit that the series never concluded, as I would have saved much time by never starting the series.

Spoiler Ahead This was book 3 in the " A Bred for Love" series. Percy, Edward and Reynard are on the run from the Royal Guards. Everyone is irritable as life on the run is taking its toll for Percy who is dealing with his emotions because of his pregnancy. Mason is locked in a cell and beaten by his father the King who I hate. Mason begins to talk about the crimes his father committed first to Princess Arianna who finds prove of his claims she also helps him escape and he tells the world. This book has a lot of suspense and dark secrets and one that I guessed in book 2 Reynard and Mason have been lovers for 20 years although his father forced him to marry Camilla who everyone hates accept the King who she is sleeping with. The guys get help from one of the King's enemy's Lord Lucius who has a harm of slaves and breeder's he also knew who Percy is because he saw him as a kid with his former Master. When the slave girls wake Percy by touching him he gets in trouble with the stable master who hits him and Edward is pissed and the man is dealt with quickly. This was a really good book and series the sex scenes were hot. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

The climax of this series was great. Edward, Percy, Mason and Reynard are running for their lives and trying to stay one step ahead of the King.

Can't wait for the next book of this series.

This book was better than the first, on par with the second.

Here's my issue with this (so-far) trilogy: if you cut out the massive amounts of extraneous, unnecessary, redundant material... you wouldn't have a full-length novel out of these three books together. It seems to me that the author wanted a series for whatever reason - money, time to plot, etc. - and so broke up the story and shoved regurgitated, unneeded material in as filler. I mean, when I'm skipping sex scenes because they're so constant and repetitive, you know there's an issue. That makes me an unhappy reader.

The really frustrating part of it all is that this would be a good single novel! If the author had just not had this series mindset, the story would've been captivating! It's just such a shame.

A good enough place to end, if book #4 never arrives. At this point, it's 6 years overdue, but I'm perfectly willing to overlook that since I truly love everything this author's written during that time. I'm still going to put it onto Mount TBR, but I won't be holding my breath.

And wow does this story keep getting more and more intense! Even MORE answers in this one! The suspense runs super high and can I just say I adore watching Percy grow. Not belly wise LOL I mean as a person. I love the few moments he stands up for himself or for someone. It makes me so proud.

Reynard is amazing and we got a little secret about him too. And Mason? Oh my word! I adore him to pieces. What an amazing person. To go through all he has gone through and manage to maintain a smile? That’s just crazy. I did find myself wondering what would happen to Arianna after book 2 ended and we get to see, sort of, how that’s going for her.

This story builds and builds and though there is a finality in this book… not like the cliffhanger of book 2…. I am left wondering more. It is sort of cliffy-ish. I’m hoping book four is released soon since it seems that heads are gonna roll! Not to mention I can feel the end for so many and I’m dying to see the King again and watch him fall!

This is an awesome series and I am super excited for more!

A very exciting addition to the series that sees some much needed character growth for Percy and Edward as well as even more character development for Reynard and Mason. It was definitely nice to see Edward actually think about the breeding and slavery practices on a more global scale rather than just feeling lucky to have gotten Percy. I thought that since the blurb said this book was the "riotous climax" that it would be the final entry in the series, but apparently there will be another novella squeezed out of the "no faith challenge" for the throne, which honestly doesn't seem worth another novella to me. Maybe it will tackle dismantling an economy of breeding altered humans for slavery in between bouts of hot sex and royal intrigue.

I am finally getting into this series.
Percy is looking and acting more and more human.
Abe and Mason... I would (almost) kill for their own story!
The plot is finally making sense, tho still I have many questions.
There is a female character I like.
I now know why there are so many typos and errors, so that's no longer an issue.
And finally - The Cliffhanger!!!!

But that's where the series hits the wall :(

At this point I am not above begging.

Ple-a-se! Moar!

Clearly I didn't read the reviews, I tend to only read reviews from the first book in any series and I see that's going to have to change.

The blurb in this book says it's the final book in this series. It is not... To which I am disappointed since I thought I was going to be putting this series to rest. I'm not sure if I can take any more of Edward, and I sure as hell can't take any more Percy. I was more interested in Mason and his hot man, Reynard... Hell, I'd take more of his sister-in-law Ari !!

I love how the generic reengineering totally made all of the physicality in this plausible. Covered the bases for making the impossible possibly simply, acceptably, and uncomplicated. Again with the sweetness here. It just oozes right out of the book without being trite and overdone. And finally, a big reveal worthy of being a big reveal. I hate it when the big secret is unveiled leaving you mumbling "that's it?". Big enough to be sufficiently scandalous without going overboard. So, in a word, Yay.

Everything hots up for this third book

Well there's some right royal revelations come out in this one as Edward ends up being forced to flee with Percy after his father goes insane.

There's also a ridiculous amount of hot breeding going on and more of the kingdom's background and history is given as the reader finds out why Percy is so important.

Mason also makes a stand and Capt Reynard is reunited with his lover after the truth comes out. This provides for a couple of interesting scenes.

This one gets dark and intense, and I love how the punches were not pulled at all. So much was revealed and deepened, and all I have to say is f*ck yes!

Honestly, this installment made me so happy with how things got twisted and evil.

And, seriously... Abe and

Looking forward to the finale :)

I need more of Mason and the captain. I love them and I need to find out if there's a book about them.
I loved the constant development in Percy's character, he's becoming more and more strong and talkative.
The prince is showing more of his real emotions and Percy knows how to help him in certain situations.

The plot is getting definitely more interesting.

😍 this series

Percy was designed with a purpose. He was special, designed with a unique purpose. Yes, he was still a breeder, a slave but he was also so much more. He thought, hoped, after the death of his master that he had been forgotten, left alone to live in peace. Turns out he was far from forgotten.
Percy is such a sweetie. I think he was why I initially couldn't put the books down. He is so innocent and yet something about him also screamed at me that he held a hidden strength that needed to be recognized. I enjoyed watching him come out of his shell, dipping into the unknown and eventually finding his rightful place in the world.
Prince Edward doesn't have to marry to unite anything. He is nowhere near close to being crowned reigning king. He does want children and to settle down with a mate. He doesn't want the red tape and headaches that come with a traditional relationship though, so he decides to look into a breeder. What he finds is everything he wanted and everything he did not know he needed.
This was such a fun and at times pretty intense journey.
There are so many twists!
Some were enough to make me cringe others had me screaming (no, sadly I am not kidding) at the writer to just STOP!
The relationship between Edward and Percy ~Perfect~ They accented the other in such a way that both became better for it.
And Mason - just wait for it. Don't hate him yet 😉
Action, Romance, Suspense ~ This had it all
I devoured the first three in this series back to back in one sitting
This is a blend of fantasy and Mpreg

I jumped in the middle of this series on a rec. Shouldn’t have. Percy and Edward were mildly engaging . Give me more of Mason and Reynard! Stat! They weren’t featured nearly enough here, so the rest of this was mostly vaguely interesting with a side of meh. And the edit errors are so glaring. I’ve never seen the pronoun I’s used before. What is that? That sound you hear is me pulling my hair out.

Best of the three books so far!

Exciting!

Might have even bumped it up to 5 stars had the editing been better. In all of the books there is an abundance of misused and/or misspelled words or words that were meant to be removed after changes were made. It made my reading experience choppy to say the least.

I greatly enjoy this series. It has all the earmarks of a good dystopian tale while keeping the characters and romance alive and at the forefront. You never feel like you have to choose between the elements as the are quite deftly woven together.

Now if only the last instalment were available in Canada...
