Baby-making with Kane is right up Jade’s alley…until a curse throws a bucket of ice on their fire. Jade and Kane are ready to take the next step in their lives together. But after a routine blessing goes horribly wrong, suddenly any thoughts of starting a family are put on hold when Jade is cursed and their future child threatened. Now the hunt is on to find the one responsible in order to break the curse. But life on Bourbon Street is never that straightforward. There are demons to battle, souls to save, and secrets to be uncovered. And as Jade and her friends get closer to the truth, it’s starting to look like someone has made a deal with the devil.

Well, I'm not sure where to start. I'll try to write this review without spoiling anything. I hope it makes sense. I'm writing it for both the book and audio because I alternated back and forth. This started out as the best one in the series, there was lots of things taking place. Kane was off fighting demons and while there, met someone who would be very important to him and Jade. It opens up a whole new can of worms. Someone we didn't know exists. Meanwhile, Jade was off doing her witch thing, trying to summon Avery, the angel we last heard of that had gone missing. She also met someone we didn't know about. This person had some very interesting information. Towards the end, it all went to hell (no pun intended). I'm so frustrated and disappointed in the author. I know she can do better. We have this unbelievable information we learned from both Kane and Jade, but when they finally meet back up, we have to endure sex then more sex, then oral sex. I love sex in my books, but after how important the information is, it couldn't have waited. Life's were on the line and time was of the essence. I understand that Kane needs sex for energy and his was depleted from a bad demon fight. But it went on for like three chapters. Then we had to hear Jade thinking about the sex and Kane and too much wasted writing. I was pepped up and then left wondering what I was waiting for. I finally skipped ahead. Kane and Jade wouldn't wait that long to tell the important stuff. Then when Kane finally got around to telling her, he tried to put it off. Jade still didn't tell him about her news. And Bea wasn't acting like herself. She wouldn't be joking around about kissing someone at a time when something was up with Zoe. They had known something was up with her from the beginning but never said anything or asked her. Only said they would keep an eye on her. And it was something that would've been addressed right away. Oh, and I don't mind swearing but I really wish the author wouldn't use GD. I'm just so aggravated with part of the book towards the end. It is still worth reading and very climatic. The next book is going to be a doozy. I really like the dynamics taking place. I just wish she would've told it better. It shouldn't take six chapters to get to what we needed. Too much fluff in between. When you get to the middle of the book, if you skip to the last 5-6 chapters, it will be a five star read. The brotherhood is pathetic, or Maximus is. I'm still so confused about him and what's going on there. That part isn't written well at all. Things are always eluded to in every book but we never know what or if anything is going on.
The narration is great. I only get annoyed by Jade's voice a little. For some reason, when she spoke, it was like she was reading everything off or talking to someone hard of hearing and slow of understanding. Her character is getting on my nerves some. I think it's because I just wish they would spill it already. And I hate Chasandra. I think we all want to see her downfall. I feel bad being so negative in this review. I have enjoyed this series and this book was going so great then slowed down. I do feel that if you've read the others then you should read this. It is worth the read and information you do get. And I'm sure others will like it even more than me. Whatever negative feelings I've had, it hasn't kept me from wanting to read the final book. This is a wonderful author and her Pyper Rayne books are to die for.
A baby. Maybe it's time for Jade and Kane to add to the family. She can't help but think more about when she leads a fertility party with the coven for one of their own. That is until the blessing is interrupted by a dark curse on Jade. Who? Why?
Kane and Jade can never just deal with their own lives, as the coven leader and a demon hunter their duties keep them busy. It also helps that they have a lot of friends, some with strong powers of their own. That friendship and those powers are gonna be needed to help the couple through this one. There are demons, angels-good and not so angelic-and doubting some who should have their backs. Who can be trusted?
The author has a mind that takes the reader in a world of wonders, powers, friendship, and love.
This was a very quick read for me. I just love Deanna’s style of writing. The flow of her writing makes it very easy for me to read which is always good with me being dyslexic. I’ve read every book in the Jade Calhoun series and so far I’m loving them all.
This book goes straight to the point of what’s going on with Jade and Kane. I love how much their relationship has evolved in such an amazing way. Their love for each other is unspeakable. I also like how we get to see more of the other characters and how much they help Jade and Kane.
🌶️🌶️🌶️The spice in this book I would rate a 3. If you’ve read the other books, you will know that there will been spicy scenes between Jade and Kane. There is details within the spice scenes but I wouldn’t consider this smut do to it being the main focus is the plot of the book.
Excellent story! Upon reading this book I was struck by all the different story lines/twists. There is so much happening and so much will be revealed. Past transgressions will come to light and betrayal on a major level will be revealed. Jade and Kane will fight for the future of them and possible children. Curses will be reversed and people will finally get justice. Avery will be found but there will be sorrow on some levels. Lailah will find much personal happiness. Excellent reading and highly recommend this book for you to read!
It's been awhile since I read some of the Bourbon St Series But picking up Bewitched on Bourbon St it was like id only just put one down and a new one up. So easy to follow on, same old characters there supporting each other fights against demons. And of course how much love & passion Jade and Kane have for each other!
Don't want to put spoilers on but sooooo pleased a certain someone gets her comeuppance. Gonna download the next one now can't wait to get stuck in😁
Someone has gone way too far this time. Jade has been cursed. She and her powerful friends are going to do everything they can to find out who is behind it. This story is awesome. Lots of nuances. Several really bad guys. And the lines between good and evil get a little blurry at times. A must read.
This book did not dissaoing. Compared to the other books in the series I found it a bit mellow. I have to admit the former books were filled with so much more. Don’t get me wrong though this book gives you very thing and I love the way she ended it.
Love all if the characters and the way all are relative.
Having some chapters with Kane’s perspective brought a lot to am already full book, packed with drama, action, and many fireworks. Sure, I would’ve liked the one who did so much wrong to get even more flack, but in the end, it was satisfying just the same.
Not to mention ending my reading of the book with a huge smile.
It gets a little hard to follow the story with it being multiple ones happening. It gets a little chaotic at times, trying to remember who's who and what is happening. Major events happen, betrayals, revelations, and, of course, more secrecy. The ending of this book is sure to be more chaotic, so I'm intrigued where it will lead.
Interesting yet light. Truly a love story. Love between husband and wife. Love between friends and family. Love for humanity. Mystery, romance and supernatural. Great read
Love these books, great light reads, perfect for summer. Only issue... I wanna scream every time they mention Jade's love of chai tea. Chai MEANS tea, so they are basically saying 'tea tea' over and over again... It's a pet peeve of mine, like people saying 'naan bread', it's redundant. Argh.
Lots of deceit going on in the outer circle that puts Jade and Kane in danger. Things go from bad to worse when the deceptions and those who caused them come to light. I loved the ending where everyone gets what they deserve, good and bad.
Jade's story continues! I really enjoyed how this book went back and forth between Jade and Kane. Curses, demon fights, trips to Hell, and more than one suprise. Bewitched on Bourbon Street keeps you entertained!
Without going into spoilers, this book is action packed and full of mind blowing revelations. Life altering things happen, and I'm excited for the future. Now I'm off to read Kat's Valentine's short story!
Audiobook review- Curses abound in this edition of the Jade Calhoon series. Great storyline with plenty of twists and turns. Good character development. The narrator did a fantastic job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Overall the story was a wild ride. Both Kane and Jade were doing their own things that eventually led them to working together. It kept me on the edge of my seat listening to the audiobook. The spicy level for this particular was very spicy. Lots of steamy scenes.
This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.
There were several hold your breath moments, like I was trying to figure out how Kane was getting out, and thinking oh crap. So glad of the epilogue, they deserve it.
This is really fast paced. I loved the inclusion of events in first person from Kane. Trips to Hell and lots of evil deeds. Another great book in the Jade Calhoun series.
