Why this book?
I wanted a Christmas book for Christmas

What I thought

I waited to read this book on Christmas for obvious reasons. First off the illustrations were gorgeous! I couldn't wait to go to the next page to see the next one . With that said this was a interesting take on the whole Santa Claus story almost like a fairytale. Even though this was only 35 pages long the story didn't feel rushed and the pacing was perfe

The Book of Kringle - Legend of the North Pole was a very unique story about how Father Christmas came to be. The overall idea and story of this children's book is fantastic. The illustrations really captured me in as well and I can only imagine how the book would appeal to children. Unfortunately, my kindle messed up this book and completely switched all the words and pictures around so I had to flip through and try to connect the right pieces together myself. After looking at the preview for t ...more

I accepted a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the sort of book that must be purchased and appreciated in a print version. E-readers just do not capture the beauty and magic of the stunning illustrations. This is also the sort of book you want to hold in your hands and share with a child sitting close together.

The story is charming and not scary, even though it begins with the ruling king being a greedy meanie. It does have a happy ending and a nice moral

I love Christmas and Christmas stories. This gem is an instant classic.

I was engaged by the artwork and the poetic style of the writing. This is a book that I will read to my grandchildren. I will sit them in my lap and show them the pictures as I read. I think that, if I start them early enough, I can create in them the magic that my parents gave to me as I sat and listened raptly to them. There are too few books that capture that feeling, fewer still that deal with the enduring story of Kris K

Digital Reading Copy provided via NetGalley:

Reading like a fairytale, complete with castles and mystical origin stories, The Book of Kringle is a fun new take on the well-known Santa Claus story. With the elves more like slaves under the rule of a malicious king, the gifting of gold coins in stockings to ease their days makes this story interesting! The attention to detail explaining christmas traditions, like stars on top of trees, is great! Beautiful illustrations!

This book has beautiful artwork and a great story to read near Christmas when your children start asking about Santa and the North Pole. Totally worth the money. I was a six year old again who believes in the magic of the North Pole and Santa

This is a wonderful story for Christmastime and I can't wait to add it to my son's 24 Books of Christmas collection that we use as an advent calendar every year. :)

The Book of Kringle is a longer story than your typical picture book, but reads exactly as you would think a story with the sub-title of "The Legend of the North Pole." It has a little of a "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" vibe and reminded me of the claymation Rankin/Bass mov

I am going to have to look for a hard copy of this book to see the illustrations in color, but they look like they should be fabulous The story itself is a new take on Santa. It's enjoyable. I'm sure children will love hearing it on the holidays!
