I laughed out loud reading this book. I have gone to a therapist for years and always wondered what it was like for them to listen to people’s problems all day. I used to think that my therapist had no problems and stopped going. It was refreshing to learn in Crazy Like Me that therapists are people too. I loved the back and forth between clients mixed with the subplot of Dr. Murphy’s life. Lee does a great job tackling serious issues with humor and a light-hearted spirit. Definitely recommend ...more

Crazy Like Me is the story of a new therapist who meets weekly with a feisty group of clients. They share laughs and criticisms. This is a good summer beach read that can be read in only a few nights or even in one sitting. Reading about everyone else’s problems made me feel like I wasn’t alone and helped me to be able to laugh at my own stuff. I kept thinking about what the characters would say if I was in their group.

The best thing about ‘Crazy Like Me’ is that it has the feeling of a romance novel in the sense that there are love scenes, but they don’t last long. Erin Lee gives you just enough to get you interested without harping on it. I love there is the focus on the relationships between the Katherine Murphy, the lead character, and the people in her life. I especially like how Lee shows the reader the difficulties that being a therapist brings; how other people’s problems can impact your own personal l ...more

I went through a similar situation that her character Keith went through; a wife that I was more raising instead of being married to. I could relate to that character, and to the character Ray; very needy but meaning well. I usually hate chick lit, but this is a book that you can get into no matter if you are a man or a woman. What I like the most about Lee is that in her writing, she doesn’t just make all guys look bad and all women look like innocent victims. Everyone is screwed up. It’s real ...more

Like a previous reviewer said, this amazing drama-dy, ‘Crazy Like Me’, by new author Erin Lee is one of the most refreshing works to come along in a long time. It’s an amazing piece that we can all relate to as we all have problems in our everyday relationships and tend forget that everyone is ‘crazy like me’.

It doesn’t take long to get into Erin Lee’s ‘Crazy Like Me’. From the moment you start reading, she has you emotionally invested in the lead character, Katherine Murphy. It doesn’t just stop there, you also get attached to her clients. At first it bothered me that ¾ of the married couples in this book are some of the most screwed up couples ever, I love how Lee makes it that everyone has problems. I do not like books that are not realistic and that is at least something this book is; realistic. ...more
