Human behavior appears erratic and unpredictable only because humans are too close to the action. To the cold, impartial circuits of a modern supercomputer, human behavior is simply a complex set of algorithms to be compiled, analyzed, and predicted.

Control the flow of human behavior, and you control the future. Cut a nervous investor off in traffic, and you initiate a

The Enigma Stolen, by Charles V. Breakfield and Roxanne E. Burkey, is the fifth book in their Enigma series. Keeping with the computer and operations themes of past books, this is a technological thriller with a global scope. The whole gang is back again: Peta, Jacob, EZ, Quip, Julie, Juan, ICABOD, and the R-Group. In past books in the series, the stories have felt institutional or hierarchical as they deal with organizations, higher principles, or government structures. The Enigma Stolen feels ...more

Enigma Stolen by Charles V. Breakfield and Roxanne E. Burkey
With extensive use of technology, one might wonder if human beings could be feeding the lion that will eventually devour them. The internet is riddled with personal information just sitting there waiting for anyone who might care to scratch a half inch deeper. Information that has been put there willingly and without a second thought about what could happen if it got into the wrong hands.
The R-Group does it again. It is an intelligence

The fifth entry into the techno-thriller, Enigma series comes another hair-raising adventure from Charles Breakfield and Roxanne Burkey, Enigma Stolen.

A secret organization has developed a supercomputer that can predict the future, while a politician believes his campaign is being targeted by a cyberassassin. This candidate enlists the aid of the R-Group, our heroes, for another mission. As the plot thickens and an attack is revealed to be orchestrated by the clandestine Werewolf Clan, which

The Enigma Stolen is a good book. Admittedly starting in the middle of a series made me question a lot of things going on in the book. I was already mid way when I realized it was a series, so no stopping now! This story is very high tech. It is deep into the world of computer technology, politics and deep family ties. In a world where virtually everyone is your enemy and boundaries barely exist. The story line is very detailed and intricate. There are a sea of characters to become familiar with ...more

For whatever reason, there is always someone somewhere believing that they can take over the world and the easiest method is through technology. Stemmed from this idea the supercomputer was born and all other technology had to have some connection to it, could this lead in the ultimate technology domination? Unfortunately, it is a possible sure thing when such a powerful device is left in the wrong hands. In knowing that, technology is our new way of life, we’ve become too dependent on it that ...more

The thrilling adventures of our favourite crews are back in The Enigma Stolen, by Roxanne Burkey and Charles Breakfield. In this fifth installment we are brought into a scene where there is much loss, and little gain. A difficult discussion between father and daughter: a transaction of human life and a cold closing to a young life. This is an important tone to set for the journey we are about to take into the world of R-Group, ICABOD, Petra, Jacob, EZ, Julie and Juan. In this installment, we are ...more

If you are looking for a really cool thriller that has sci fi, action, and politics, then this is definitely the book that you are going to want to check out. First of all, this is the 5thbook in the series, so you’ll want to start at number one to get the full effect, but even if you don’t, you’re still going to love this. In this book, people are hiring genius assassins to kill the rich, smart, and possibly dangerous.

The fact that this is an audiobook just makes it that much better. You feel

Wow this series gets better and better with every book I feel. Stakes are high in this one. More people are using the technology to hire assassin's to go after high profile people. When old foes and new friends come together to stop the computers from taking over you stay on edge. The R group is great as always. We get more character background in this one. A little bit of everyone's. Although not as much as I would like. But still we understand some of the characters. When politics and ...more

An amazingly interesting and intricate plot crafted by authors Breakfield and Burkey. The Enigma Stolen is truly fascinating. If certainly helps to have the background of the previous books to fully grasp the development of the R group and all the characters involved. Narrator Derek Shoales delivers another impressive performance.
