Romance writer, Clarice Adler needs to bunker down and finish her book or she will be without a publisher. What better way to get away from her cheating ex, then by traveling to the Scottish Isle and staying in a quiet little cabin. There she meets Derek McMillan who is hero worthy. Clarice is led to believe that Derek has a wife, who she has never seen and believes he has kept his distance because of it.

Derek realizes Clarice is his mate, but he is a bear shifter and no humans are aware they ex

Very oddly worded sentences.
So slow moving, I'd rather stand in front of my freezer and watch ice melt. That would have more action than this story.
Enormous amount of unnecessary and BORING information.
Ninety percent of this story she has been in her cabin working on writing a book. NOTHING has happened.
When there finally is a little bit of action, it's so not hot, nor stea

I got the whole series on audio in exchange for review. The crazy person that I am I didn't read the blurb or any details about the series, just that it was a bear shifter series! ( What's better than that?!)

So I started listening to this audiobook assuming the whole 16 hours are going to be about the same couple but in 6 different books. Imagine my surprise when after listening for a couple of hours, they got mated and BAM their story was over and it was off to the next story with hero's brothe

Clarice is a writer and she needs to finish her novel. She books a cabin to clear her mind of any distractions. At the cabin she meets Derek who is the caretaker of the property. Derek is also a werebear. Derek feels an attraction to Clarice but she is human and doesn't think it would be a good idea to pursue anything since she is human. As a werebear he has to keep that a secret from outsiders. Derek and Clarice do eventually get together but by the time it happens the book is pretty much over. ...more

This is the first book in a new sexy shifter series and it definitely does not disappoint! A human woman named Clarice is a romance author who is suffering from writer's block after experiencing a failed relationship and goes to the Scottish Isle of Skye to lock herself away and finish her current work. What she doesn't expect is to come across the sexy bear shifter Derek who she's renting a cabin from and the immediate connection she feels towards him. Derek doesn't believe that humans and shif ...more

I found this to be an enjoyable story. As with most paranormal stories, the attraction was immediate but in this case, Clarice and Derek feel that attraction but they also avoid each other (for different reasons). Since I got both POVs, I knew what the other didn’t know, so I enjoyed the avoidance immensely. Especially when Derek kept dropping off food and goodies for Clarice and she thought it was his “wife”.

Even though I enjoyed the

Romance writer rents secluded Scottish cottage for do-or-die writing sprint, meets Scottish were bear, sexiness ensues. Lovely, slow-burn romance with a romantic Scottish village setting. Loved the characters (Derek is a werebear who bakes!) and, particularly, the cottage. Fun read. Received ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I keep going back and forth. Scottish We're bear is not the worst book I have read. It's a love story, that's it. Books like this are not my favorite because it's so predictable and kind of on the boring side.
The main character, Clarice, caught her bf cheating and she is trying to finish her book. So she goes to Scotland for escape. She meets Derek, a werebear, who feels lightning when he sees her.
I see the appeal and I appreciate the author's style. Moone does a good job with the characters.

** Provided by Author in Exchange for an Honest Review **

Judging a Book by it's Cover:
Bare torso with tribal tattoo, pants dipping dangerously low and a sort of wonky pectoral muscle. The bear in the background is super cute. Brooding, moody background colors help make them both stand out. The synopsis sounds rather fun and entertaining.
Looking Deeper:
Third person POV. Poor Derek, he's a bit clueless in what to do with himself in the beginning,

This was a sweet story about an isolated bachelor and a romance author who is recovering from a breakup. She is renting a cabin on his farm in order to finish her latest book without distractions. They have an immediate connection, but don't act on it, which made me happy. This isn't the type of story where one of the characters has an important job to complete that ends up being ignored because the couple can't keep their hands off each other. Yeah!

So, why only three stars? Well, I did enjoy t

Derick, the hero, is a reclusive werebear who rents cottages on his remote Scottish isle for extra income. Clarice, the heroine, is an author who has recently broken up with a cheating boyfriend. There's very little detail about what happened with the cheating boyfriend. We just know that he cheated and now Clarice is unable to finish a romance novel she's under contract to complete because she no longer believes in love. A friend convinces her to get away from it all and suggests this Scottish ...more

Clarice acted like a big baby at times.
She ASSumed Derek was married.
He did not correct her but that was her fault,
not his.
He did Not "seem" like a baking type, so he just had to be married.
There are male chefs, so, the misunderstanding was on her.
Then, when she finds out that he is Not married, she over reacts, blames him
and has a tear party crying all over herself. Over reaction much?
Even if he did want to avoid her, so what?
Like her inner dialogue said, she did not even know hi

Clarice is off to find some solace and finish writing her novel. She has rented a cottage for 2 weeks. What Clarice is not prepared for is the caretaker / owner of the property. Originality: 2 STARS ☆☆

This is a novella containing around 100 pages. It was a quick read and only took about 2 hours, give or take, to finish. The formatting was done nicely.

I really liked the writing style and enjoyed reading this. If the story would have been just a bit more original, I would have given it 4 stars. I will follow this author to see what she has to come in the future.

This is written like so many other shifter novels. Human female just broke up with cheating

Clarice Adler needed a get away. She just got out of relationship with a cheating loser boyfriend and needed to finish the work that she was going. She thought a break in the country side would do her so good. She was shocked to hear after she arrived in the county that there were bears. There should not be bears around Scotland.

Derek McMilian knew when he saw Clarice that she was his mate. Which he found shocking since he was a bear shifter and bear shifters did not mate with humans. The more

An ARC was given for an honest review. This is a entertaining and well written read. She came to the Highlands to get away and finish her book. He rents out the cottage to supplement his income. Neither are looking for a relationship but sometimes fate make choices for you no matter how much you fight against it. This has its own HEA but it is a continuing story. Enjoy I did.

The first half was slow, with barely any interaction between Derek and Clarice, then bing bang boom, it's love! The world is interesting and I want to know more but the romance was meh and needed a stronger foundation and more believability.

This was a short story that sets up the rest of the series. The author bring a very interesting plot which goes back many years from the day Derek parents were killed could it have been an accident as they believed or could it have been more. The store moves around Derek and Clarice meeting with a strong pull from the start. There is a little misunderstanding or maybe confusion that the two will have to overcome before even thinking about a relationship plus she must find out what he truly is, u ...more

This is the first book I have read by Lorelei and I loved it. Derek manages his family’s farm and rents out cabins on the property for several years. Usually just families and older ladies looking for a getaway rent out the cabins. Clarice has booked one of the cabins so that she can finish her book. After breaking it off with her boyfriend she is trouble finding her muse to finish her book. After seeing Derek, it seems her muse is back in full force. This definitely was a surprise for me.

Scottish Werebear has been a great starter of the day. It is a perfect to read with a cup of coffee and nestled up in bed with a bunch of pillows.

It started it quite simple.

Clarice is an author with a deadline for her recent book. However due to her recent breakup she has encountered a block. In a desperate attempt to finish her book and get back to writing she takes up a holiday in the mountains in a cabin that is owned by a guy(Derek) knows how to cook.

This started off as a fairly good read with an enjoyable, believable story about Clarice needing to escape after catching her boyfriend cheating, she also has a deadline on her book but has lost the impetus to write a HEA story when suffering from betrayal.
Clarice came across as well balanced and coping well so I could not understand why Clarice was in tears when she found out Derek was not married. WHY? Derek has his reasons and she was taking it personally like some teenager in high school who
