A Treasured Lily is a well written story with developed characters. A spoiled rich little girl, accustomed to always getting what she wants plans to live in a Plantation in Charleston; however, she is given a condition by her parents, she must marry before she can become the lady of the mansion. With devious intentions, Lily set her interest on an American traveler and gets more than she planned.

To be honest, romance is not my preferred genre, but I like historical novels so I gave it a try.  I

I am not really a fan of historical romance but I had an opportunity to review this audio book so I listened to something a little outside of the box for me. The story was really good. The dynamic of a historical romance is a little different than a contemporary but I really liked this story. Rand was a good guy and I like how he wanted to take care of Lily. For her part and especially in that time Lily was a headstrong woman and knew what she wanted. I liked how Rand rebuked her efforts for her ...more

Treasured Lily by Dawn Brower
4 stars

I was given this book for an honest review

This book is a Historical Romance

MAY CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS

This book was told from two POV's Rand and Lily. I love the way Dawn Brower never missed a beat switching from one POV to another.

I don't normally read Historical. I find I can't connect with the characters well. Treasured lily is the exception to this. I loved the Characters. They were fun to go on this journey with.

A Treasured Lily is a fun, sweet romance adventure. Lily (Lilliana) is a fairly independent, strong-willed young woman for her era. At the start of the book, she is confident she need not marry and hatches a plan to sail to America against her parents’ wishes. Well, they don’t even know about it, but rest assured, they don’t want it to happen. Lily encounters Rand (Randall) and thinks he’s quite handsome, but is really only after him to allow her to join his voyage to America where she intends t ...more

Such a great read that you forget it is a historical romance and not modern day. I mean come on, we all know some teens that get what they want and know how to work things to make it happen. Lillianna, Lily, is a very determined young lady, that knows what she wants. She is to inherit the family plantation, in America, when she is old enough or when she marries. The problem being she has a couple years until old enough and she doesn't want to get married. Then enters Randall, Rand, a handsome ma ...more

This is the best book I've read yet by this author. I couldn't put it down. This is about Pia and Thor's daughter Lily. She is headstrong and determined to go her own way. Even if she has to defy her parents to do it. She meets Rand and talks him into taking her with him on his ship back to South Carolina. They learn a lot about each other on the voyage and things heat up between them. It ends with a nice twist that made me enjoy it even more. ...more

I loved this story! Lily is such a strong character and meets the first man, outside of her family, that loves her for who she is. Rand is a wonderful American character that is going to stir things up with the English. When Lily and Rand meet they have chemistry and he already knows he wants more from her and he must convince her, the girl that wants to be a spinster, they are perfect for each other. And great adventure waits for them on their Journey.

This was a good story with a great premise, but I felt the characters could have been more three-dimensional with a slower pace. The three weeks of the ships crossing felt a little disjointed at times. Though I saw the twist at the end coming, I did enjoy it.

Lily from A Crystal Angel. Daughter of Pia and Thor. I like it when books show us what characters grow up into being. We first met Lily as a little toddler at the end of A Flawed Jewel.

Following her mother's footsteps!

Lily's parents met when her mother left Charleston on her father's ship in the first book of this series. Now, Lily wants to explore the Charleston plantation, and sets out to find a captain that'll take her since she doesn't have the support of her parents in this endeavor. Rand is just the captain she needs, and their high seas romance is every bit as adventurous as that of her parents.

This was a fast paced story that can easily be read in a day. Lily was someone who knew what she wanted and liked having her own way. She wasn’t interested in marriage as all the men she had met were only interested in her money. She met her match in an American ship owner, Randall Collins. Rand was also someone who was determined to get what he wanted. Their relationship was certainly a battle of wills at first. Lily and Rand were a beautiful couple. Once they could agree on things, that is. Lily is the daughter of Thor and Pieretta from A Flawed Jewel, the first book in this series and she is just as spirited and determined as her mother was then. Plus, her parents have raised her to be a strong, independent woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. This was a lovely romance by Ms. Brower and I always enjoy it when her books feature the next generation of characters since we get a chance to see how co ...more

A Treasured Lily is a beautifully written story with plenty of romance and adventure. Lily is a strong-willed girl who knows what she wants and is used to getting it. Rand also knows what he wants, and he wants Lily. Both characters have their own agenda and it was fun seeing how they each went about trying to achieve their goal.
