Oh yeah, I could definitely live at the Paragraph Ranch. I can see myself struggling with Roy and Dale (Dee's gifted goats), chatting with friends in a writing club and paying someone else to fix up the yard.

Dee is one busy woman, and I admire her for it. Not only has she taken over the family farm/ranch (so her mother could move closer to town), she negotiated a 33% raise for herself for a part-time political reporter job for the local paper, and took on an additional job at the town library.

Ellington and Brannon pick right up where Book 1 left off, but The Wedding is still perfectly able to hold it's own outside a series. Protagonist Dee is plucky and endearing, but complex and rich with real-world problems and concerns. Supporting characters, including irascible Mama Bennett and many new ones, flesh out a compelling and lively narrative. Continuing what they started in The Paragraph Ranch, the sense of place Brannon and Ellington create is palpable. To bring it down to a personal ...more

Ellington and Brannon have done it again! With humor and just the right touch of East Texas congeniality, they tell the continuing story of writer and professor Dr. Dee's return to her family homestead. As she juggles jobs as a part-time journalist and part-time librarian to make ends meet, Dee finds herself smack in the middle of an unsavory political campaign. And that's on top of the romance that seems to swirl around her. A fun read. I'm already waiting for the next book in this series!

Another enjoyable story in the Paragraph Ranch series. In this second installment, former English professor Dee Bennett has made her home back in Claxton, TX. Her mom is now in her own home in a nearby retirement village and her daughter has decided to return to school on the east coast. Dee finds herself without a job and is still waiting to get her book published. For the time being, Dee is able to pick up work part time at both the library and the local paper, where she is covering the ...more

I enjoyed this book very much. Good story, interesting characters, some mystery, some romance, some women coming into their own. Just a nice read following in the footsteps of its predecessor Paragraph Ranch but even better in many ways. ...more

I havent read the first in the series but I really dont think that matters I was able to delve in & enjoy this book.

Dee lives on the family ranch in Texas .. I particularly liked the quirky humour used to describe the area & the people, maybe its because Im from the UK but this was a huge part of the charm for me. The authors have a knack of pulling you in & making you feel part of the community.

Dee is such a busy character trying to maintain some equilibrium between her personal

Kay Ellington and Barbara Brannons second installment of the The Paragraph Ranch series, A Wedding at the Paragraph Ranch, is even better written and enjoyable as the first. After deciding to remain in her home town, Dee Bennett finds herself juggling two jobs, a blog, a potential publisher, her Mama and an upcoming event at the farm, while also keeping a hussys claws off her boyfriend and uncovering a 20 year old secret that has state-wide repercussions. Filled with likable characters and ...more

Good read

Good sequel to book one. Fun play on characters, and a good story line.
Hope they make #3 soon. Did find a few misspelled words and one repeat sentence.

Hello, I'm a native Texan and a lifelong newspaperwoman. My novels, co-written with Barbara Brannon, are valentines to West Texas, farm life, small towns, overcoming the odds, and coming to peace with the past.

So, prop up your boots and enjoy the read!
