Steamy romance, no cliffhanger, Swearing, mature topics. I know I said this was the last one, but .... well, I might miss these guys too much. So there may be more.
Vivian is pregnant and over-protective Hawk won't leave her side, so when it becomes clear that someone is trying to kill them, things heat up for the Heat gang, even as Emma wistfully watches her sister embark on the journey to motherhood.
JT and Dani are visiting Westwood Harbor when all hell breaks loose for the triplets. They would turn to Sara for help, but she is battling her own private hell, leaving Craig and Hawk to fight for themselves and their family, with a little help from JT.
Can they find the root cause of all the mayhem in time to save their women? And will Emma get the only thing she's ever wanted, her big family?
What a way to end an outstanding series....The triplets, Emma, Vivian and JT, their better halves, Craig, Hawk and Dani along with their closest friends Jerry and Sara were finally at the point in their lives where they were all happy.
Then one night their lives were turned upside down when the past came back to threaten everything they've built. The triplets were targeted because of their late father's estate while Sara was slowly being destroyed by someone who was supposed to be helping her. Thankfully, the gang took care of their ill wishers.
Loved the introduction of Hawk's friend Knox Rosesson, the way he helped the gang out was magnificent. It's always a pleasure to meet new characters.
Saying goodbye to EDGE OF THE HEAT series, it was like saying goodbye to a loved one. Gonna miss everyone and I'm happy to have been on this amazing journey with them.
Lisa Ladew did an extraordinary job, two thumbs up. Looking forward to what comes next from her.
I really enjoyed reading this final installment of the Edge of the Heat series. It was filled with nonstop action from the beginning, and everyone from the Heat gang is involved in the turmoil in some way or another! It was so great to see everyone together again in book 7, all working as they do best, as a tight-knit team that doesn't want any of their friends to get hurt. I also liked how Lisa Ladew integrated some of Craig's events with characters from her other Hide Me series. Pretty neat! At the same time, it was hard realizing that this was the final installment (hopefully not, Lisa?). I have eagerly read each book in this explosive series and absolutely love it!
Wow, that's all I can say. I so wanted her to write this book. It was wonderful. A whole lot of drama and suspense and who done it. Always action full on and the love between the characters is powerful and of course the private moments. Can't have couples that much in love without it. I'm so glad we got to have everyone of the important people together and have it all wrapped up tight with the most wonderful outcome to end on. Awesome job. So glad I found this writer. Have read them all. All her series are great. Can't wait to read the next one. Gonna be great with many secrets to uncover.
Each one gets better and better! Just when it seems like everything is settling down for all of our happy couples, trouble strikes again. This time the trouble affects not only the triplets, Vivian, Emma and JT, but also Jerry and Sara. Can Craig and Hawk save the day once again? I hate that this may be the last of the Heat series because all of these books have been absolutely great reads. Full of great characters, romance and suspense, that grabbed me from the first paragraph.
5 stars. Wow what a way to end the series. I am sorry to say goodbye to this series as I have loved the characters and storylines. The books have been filled with romance, suspense and action. Once again the friends are faced with danger and a threat to their lives. I absolutely loved the final chapter to this book and it put a smile on my face and gave me a warm feeling. As with all of Lisa Ladew's books you really get a sense of dread and an uncertainty of whether things will all turn out ok. This is what I love about these books they are far from predictable,
I always wanted more of the original characters as I loved them so much and this book delivers. As usual I was unable to put the book down. It has all the usual action, suspense, romance and twists and turns for this series. Happiness is once again turned on it's head for all as several unkown events threatens not only their lives but their sanity as well. I am sad that this series is coming to an end but excited to see where Lisa goes with the new character Knox. Once again Lisa you have done yourself proud.
Glad that we were given a peak into all the characters' lives. Kind of annoyed that one again Emma is so dumb she got her self kidnapped. "Someone is following us-pretty sure it's about you and your siblings. Don't go anywhere alone". But once again she doesn't care, gets herself almost killed again. Oh well it wasn't the worst series I've ever read. Glad it's over though.
What can I say about this book? Incredible!!!!!!!! Just when I think the series can't get better boom it does. I couldn't stop reading. I devoured this book and gave currently read it 3x. All i keep thinking is when is the next one coming out?!!!!!!! Love it absolutely great read
Romance trope: romantic suspense Series: Edge of the Heat Length: 264 pages
Plot: There is a new danger coming for the triplets. A heretofore unknown player in the game will attack when they are most vulnerable and Craig, Emma, Hawk, JT, Dani, Sara, and Jerry will have to play their parts. Vivian is about to give birth so she is not able to fully engage but it doesn't matter. It's her home that was destroyed and her life - and the lives of her friends, family, and children - that is being threatened.
Commentary: The one thing about this series (and her other series) is the amount of coincidences and intersections. Spoiler: . It becomes a little telenovel-ish after a while. Also, we have the minor plot line where . But I did like the resolution to Vivian and Hawk's relationship, marriage, and now babies.
I tend to read any series back to back. But this leads to frustration because too many authors do not keep notes. In another series the author stated she keeps notes in her head. She needs to read all her books and realize that's the worst way lol Emma was never a firefighter until I think Book 3 or 4. So every time she's classed as one I roll my eyes. Especially since now within about a year's time, she's a Lieutenant Firefighter lol please write your notes down.
The author tells us about a PI that's supposed to be really good at her job, but she was hired to investigate a decorated war hero by someone she never met, that hides his face from cameras and has a throw away email.m yea he doesn't sound shady at all.
Is it Preston Troy or Chad Troy? Changes every chapter
This book continues with all the Scooby gang and Emma gets kidnapped again.I thought they should of opened there own business and fund it with there dad's money I get giving it to charity but they could of got a team of good people and use the money to pay them and do good things.
Wow! I am glad I bought the boxed set because I just couldn't put it down!!! I was so anxious to see what happened next at every turn!!! I really enjoyed this series and am sad to say goodbye!!! A well written story that draws you in and makes you feel like one of the gang!!!
I hated for this series to end. The characters were lively and outrageous. So much action, drama, suspense, and passion throughout each book. Excellent reading and writing.
Sad to see the series come to an end! I've read all seven books in four days. Started on January 14th and couldn't put them down. I'd say that's the best recommendation a reader can give an author.
I honestly had no idea what could happen with this next book, however the events that happened I was not expecting them. I loved how Emma, Vivian and JT were all together now and that they all were moving forward with their lives, however you’d think surly after everything that all three of them had been through that they would be able to at least have a break. Well you guessed wrong, it seems that none of them can get one. It starts off by Hawke and Vivian just getting home and after and after Hawke carrying her in and putting her to bed after a lovemaking session he notices that something is wrong. To begin with he can’t seem to figure out what it is, however at the last second Hawke manages to find what’s wrong, a bomb is about to go off, but luckily they both escape. It’s not until the next day after realising that Emma and Craig’s house has been targeted to (luckily not blown up) do they work out that someone is trying to frame them. However it’s going to be the last person that you expect, I was full on shocked when I read what happened. I won’t give anymore away but what I will say is that not everyone seems to be safe in this one. Honestly I recommend this series as it keeps you drawn in, I honestly wish I could have paperback versions of this series as I have fallen in love with it.
I really wish they allow for half stars as I feel this is a 4.5. I have loved this series and all of the characters and their unique personalities. I really felt for Sara and what she was going through and will probably go through to some extent for the rest of her life. Jerry was one of my favorites. I just love how the story and the characters came together for an explosive ending. However, my only hesitation with giving this 5 stars is that I really didn't feel like JT had a relationships with Emma and Vivian. You can truly feel Emma's and Vivian's bond as sisters. But as I mentioned in a previous review with book six, by the time the three siblings got together finally, it was the end of the book. In this book, it just didn't seem like JT had a place but was always on the peripheral -- like he was a friend instead of a brother. I just wished that he played more of a role and had more interaction with his sisters. However, the book was definitely worth waiting for.
A great end to a great series. Poor Emma has been rung through the ringer and still can not give up on life. She wants her independence after everything and as much as Craig doesn't want her to have that independence, he somewhat relents. And then all hell breaks loose. She is abducted again and finds herself trying to escape yet another madman. This story focuses more on the saving attempts than the abduction. Craig and Hawk take the focus of this story with side stories for JT, Dani, Jerry, and Sara. JT and Dani are falling in love and Jerry, and Sara is going through their problems. Vivian and Hawk are expecting which adds a new layer to the story. And lastly, we see an introduction to Knox, who is the focus of the next series The Billionaires Secret Kink which is suggested by Hawk while speaking to the private investigator.
I am looking forward to continuing the Billionaires Secret Kink and the Unauthorized Series.
I love every book of Lisa Ladew's that I have read and I have a lot of them.
At the beginning of her book blurb Lisa says this " I know I said this was the last one, but .... well, I might miss these guys too much. So there may be more. " I hope there are more as I will really miss this series.
Heat 7 takes us on a ride with explosions being the first of scary things happening. As these people settle into normal lives it soon becomes evident that someone is trying to kill the triplets; Vivian, Emma and JT.. Craig and Hawk with the help of Hawk's friend, Knox are determined to solve the mystery and stop this from happening. Jerry and Sara are having major problems as well.
Lisa keeps all of us in suspense as she divulges bits of the mystery with page turning suspense. I want a Knox story... :)
*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
This is a good KU library read and addition to the series. The couples brought together in the previous books are under attack. It begins with the near death of Hawk and Vivian from a bombing of their house and the planting of an explosive hash mill in their basement. As they attempt to discern who is behind the frame, other threats come into focus. But who is the actual target, and why? And while they struggle to stay ahead of their assailant, Jerry is fighting on his own front for Sara's life.
I have loved reading this series and seeing the growth and love between each of the characters. This story mostly dealt with JT, Emma, and Vivian, triplets and who was trying to kill them. Lots of intrigue, action, kidnapping, marriage, pregnancies, and babies!!! I loved how all of their lives and stories intertwined!!! I am sad that this is the end!!!
Danger surrounds our two FBI men and their wives (sisters). With one house blown to bits and one sister kidnapped, chaos erupts. Who is behind this?
Sara seems to be losing her mind - Jerry is desperately trying to find out what is going on with her. Her psychiatrist is not doing her any good..in fact, she is becoming more and more depressed.
Fire, death, rescue...another wonderful book...and even more sets of twins...superb!!
Another great addition to the series. More family secrets are revealed for Emma, Vivian, and J.T. that create more drama for the triplets and their significant others. We are also introduced to Knox who is a friend of Vivian's husband Hawk. This is a must read series.
The triplets have finally found each other and they have also found their perfect mates. But because of who their father was their lives are still threatened by exploding bombs and being kidnapped. Their families grow in leaps and bounds. A new character is introduced which leads to expectations of another great story.
Edge of Heat 7 Trouble is still lurking for all of the couples. Someone bombs Hawk and Viv house, Plants drugs at Craig and Emma's and then Emma ends up kidnapped. Sara has a shrink from Hell who is trying to cause more damage than help and Jerry realizes something is off. Dani and JT are focused on themselves. It all ends with HEA and babies!
