4 - "You still have a story to live." Stars!

If you are looking for a charmingly sexy, quick PNR read with a little Christmas glitter and sparkle, then The Bite of Winter is an excellent contender for that area.

I am a big fan of the authors writing style, and once again she has delivered a really enjoyable and deeply layered read, even though this is essentially a novella everything is fully fle

In this short and decently sexy read, Zoey, Connor, and Ian’s relationship happened very quickly, so while they lacked a good emotional connection, the physical aspects were covered fairly well. I am curious to see where things go next.
Sissy's Romance Book Review
'The Bite of Winter' by Lauren Smith is book One in the "Love Bites" series. This is the story of Zoey Blake, Ian Kennedy and Connor O’Shea, and is about 115 pages. Zoey is down on her luck and living on the streets for about a year when she is violently attacked. But Ian ends up 'saving her' by having her become a vampire too. There she is taken in by Ian and Connor. Connor is total different than Ian and he is slower to get on board but with bringing Zoey into their 'family'. But they slowly s ...more

Marie's Tempting Reads Netgalley ARC Review:

Two hot Irish vampires falling in love with a woman that desperately needs to feel cherished and safe who happens to be gorgeous and smart? A DEFINITE MUST READ FOR ME! Even though I liked this book the one thing that bothered me most was when the moment she wakes and starts to examine her wounds as well as starts to remember how she was rescued, Ian starts to make out with her and instead of feeling a little afraid, she was overly excited.

THE BITE OF WINTER is a quick read paranormal romance set during the Chirstmas holidays. Overall this was a good read but I was left unsatisfied in the end. Being a novella there is lots that isn't filled in that would have made the story more enjoyable. There is general background information given on Zoey, Ian, and Connor but I was still left wanting more. The writing is fluid and the story interesting but the quick and simple resolutions was disappointing. There simply wasn't room within the ...more

Author's note: *** This is a novella with an HEA. It's the first in a series of short paranormal novellas but all have somewhat connected characters. There aren't any other books out yet in the series so please be patient. If you're not a fan of short, hot, yet sweet love stories with cuddly but sexy paranormal hunks, don't read any further *wink.

What I loved to write about this story was that it's a sweet tale, (still sexy) but it's not so dark and bloody as you might expect for a v

"The Bite of Winter" ("Bite") starts off with a lonely girl down on her luck in the dead of winter. Homeless and hungry, she is attacked and left for dead ... until a mysterious man somehow saves her life and introduces her to a world, and a roommate, that she can't begin to imagine ...

Bite was awesome - Lauren Smith is just expert at doling out those high emotions and those high stakes with such perfection that you have tears in your eyes and a fire in your chest. It's a quick (too

This is the first book in the Love Bites series. I'm not sure where the author intends to go with this series, because while I enjoyed the story, I'm not sure it is a series starter. The story which was surprisingly short wrapped up very quickly without much conflict. So while I didn't dislike the book, everything just came together almost too easily. Heroine is rescued by gorgeous vampire, she really isn't at all disturb to find out vamp

Zoey Blake, a young girl who lost her whole family in a terrible accident, has been living on the streets for almost a year now, and when the book starts, she has been mortally stabbed twice by a vicious homeless man. As she lay dying on the sidewalk, people walk by and no one notices but one man-a vampire.

The Bite of Winter has sat on my ipad for a while the hopes that there would be another addition to this series as it was indicated it was the first in a series . As Smith is wonderful story teller and I have enjoyed what she has written so far.

Perfect a cold winter night, Smith’s PNR offering is a delight for a number of reasons. Set over the Christmas period giving some festive cheer a

Another fantastic read by the Fab Lauren Smith :-)). Book 1 in a vampire story
A bite of winter starts off with Zoe outside a fancy restaurant. She's looking in the Window to all the food available. The waiter asks her if she's coming in since it is the Holidays (Xmas) once she says no he tells her to get away . She goes back into some trees away from the restaurant. She feels so down and out . No place to sleep . Food from a help kitchen and the clothes only on her back . A homeless man goes to

4 out of 5 for this reader folks!

That was a quick and yummy read!

The Bite of Winter by Lauren Smith is the first book (novella) of her Love Bites series. Featuring two Irish Vampires and one lucky lady who is about to experience life in a whole new way, I have to say I was completely engaged in the story the entire time.

Zoey is a little more than down on her luck. Living on the streets, feeling hopeless and struggling to make sense of what happened to her life, there is no surprise when she f

The Bite of Winner is Lauren Smith's inaugural book in her Love Bites series. Although the series had similar trappings to other paranormal romance books -- down on her luck heroine and a hero who swoops in to save her -- it was fairly light in the drama department. The story was a good read and solidly written, I was just hoping for more. The ménage element kicked things up a bit but the story felt like it needed some stronger elements. The conflict between Ian and Connor

THE BITE OF WINTER is not at all what I expected, but then again, I never expected something as wonderful! Ms. Smith's brilliant writing skills reign supreme in this book which is a paranormal romance, but with the elegance and style of historical romance. Ms. Smith never forgets that they are 200 years old, but they don’t feel out of place, they merely have retained their era’s manners, and yet the evolve in our contemporary world; nothing is stilted. It’s absolutely astounding how well Ms. Smi ...more

She is as far down on her luck as she can get so to Zoey happiness seems far out reach so it will take vampires Ian and Conner both to prove their love is sacred, special…and forever in this delightful paranormal holiday romance.

Ian Kennedy never could resist rescuing strays and even though he promised Connor O’Shea no more mortal lovers, he can’t resist bringing Zoey home. The chemistry between Zoey and the two vampires sizzles with lots of heat but this romance has a lot of emotion

This was a super sexy vampire read about a woman who has lost everything... including her life only to have a sexy, angelic like man save her. Too bad he is much more than he seems. Not that it stops her from lusting after him and his roommate.

I liked the way the threesome was brought together and the fact that even though the vamps had an drawing and lust filling quality to them, there was more to this romance. They weren't looking for something quick and easy, but something

Immediate Thoughts:

I am so impressed by how much emotion Lauren can pack in 113 pages. I adored Ian's protectiveness and soft heart and I was swooning over Connor's actions in taking care of her. His gruff attitude juxtaposed with Ian's softer side was perfection. And while I'm not usually a fan of polyamory, this just totally worked for me. I'm excited to see where the rest of this series takes us. The threat of a villain is very present even if we didn't meet him in this book. I wo

I've suddenly have been on a kick if reading a lot of MMF romances. Let me tell you it's so damn hot. So, when I saw this I knew I was going to like it. Here are the broad stroke to this story. Yes, it's little unconventional but, it works for them right. Conner and Ian are not of the human variety. No, meaning they are two delectable Irish Vampires. Zoey is a homeless lonely girl who is struggling to make it. When she meets the sexy duo, they meet in an unconventional way. You see Zoey gets att ...more

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

I really enjoyed this vampire romance. Written so cleverly as to give the pnr novice the details they would need, without annoying the fanatic! It is hot (cold), thoughtful and has a satisfying result - which is undoubtedly due to the skill of the author. I like that we get each pov and that the men have retained their morals, and unfortunately also their enemy from their mortal days. It makes for a dramatic, and sweet tale

*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*

This was a short paranormal romance based around a homeless young woman who is stabbed and rescued by an Irish vampire. This was a sexy read with a little Christmas sparkle. I liked the characters: Conner was quite intense and serious whereas; Ian was sweet and attentive. The characters emotions, fears and insecurities were captured beautifully throughout.

I was unsure about this book, but I actually liked it. I wished it was longer but, it was a good read. I like that it is written from more than one point of view. This is something I love that not a lot of authors do. There isn't much conflict in this book, don't get me wrong there is some. All in all I would read it again.

Connor and Ian lost their mate Lara and swore not to take another mortal as their own ever again. Enter Zoey who almost gets killed and is currently homeless. Ian accepts her immediately while Connor is hesitant. Eventually he gives in and they come to love each other. They almost lose her when she gets hit by a car but brings her back as a vampire. The Bite Of Winter by Lauren Smith is a paranormal romance. This is a fairly short read, perfect for those with limited reading time. It is a M/F/M menage book though, so it may not be for everyone. Ms. Smith has delivered a well-written book. The characters are fantastic. Zoey has lost everything, she's homeless, jobless and broke. Ian and Connor are best friends...and vampires.
