This book purports to teach you how to begin a job as a freelance proofreader. The advice in it seems sound, though I haven't tried it out. I'm thinking that maybe after my big conference this June, I might re-visit this - I'm just a little too busy right now with my actual job to do the getting started part of this right now. Suggestions are quite dated, skewed to manual hard copy editing. Although there were some helpful tips about freelance work, putting together resumes and prepping for interviews, much of this content is also presented in Copyediting and Proofreading for Dummies.
