Scarlett finds herself in a bit of a dry spell and thinks she’s finally figured out what has caused her love life to plummet. But when Finn learns that she plans on fine tuning her kissing skills on someone else, he can’t let that happen. A quick kiss between best friends. That is all it was supposed to be. But it became everything neither of them realized they were waiting for.

The Finn Factor

Wow! I'm just going to come right out and say that I absolutely loved this book. The Finn Factor is by new-to-me author Rachel Bailey. It is a standalone novel and does have an HEA. I feel it is crucial to tell you all that, because of the amount of angst in this book. It's a full on, holy crap where did this come from, friends to lovers, angst fest. It is extremely well written and you have dual first-person point-of-views.

Lets get down to the nitty gritty, shall we? Scarlett and Finn have been

There were a few things that excited me about this book. I saw the blurb and I was like hell yes! I love a friends to lovers romance. And Finn and Scarlett are definitely best friends. They share everything, go everywhere together, and are each other's support system in ever way. Add in the simple complication that they are roommates and I am even more sold.

So, Scarlett has been having a bit of a second date drought. She cannot seem to get guys to take her on more than one date and she determin

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

There is a memorable cast of quirky characters. Scarlett is scattered. Raised by hippie parents, she had a nomadic childhood. She’s desperate for stability, but turns and runs as soon as things hint at getting tough. Finn is strong, solid and stable. He became the guardian of two younger sisters when their parents died in an accident. He is the perfect balance of sweet and caring and strong masculinity. Apparently, he

Scarlett Logan is suffering a long, torturous dry spell. It's been more than a year since she's made it past the first date with a man, and she's determined to get to the bottom of what’s going wrong. A jug of mojitos and an evening spent graphing her dating history lead Scarlett to believe that she's a bad kisser, and that's why the men don't come back for more. She decides the only way to pull herself out of the slump is to get kissing lessons from a local actor.

This was a light and fluffy friends-to-lovers romance but I found it slightly boring

To make the friends-to-lovers trope more interesting, Finn and Scarlett have lived together for four years without going down the touchy feely path. Then suddenly Scarlett is worried that her dating life has dwindled because she’s a bad kisser so she comes up with the idea of enlisting an actor she knows to aid in her ‘kissing lessons’ which has Finn—who is actually responsible for her nearly nonexistent dating l

What do you do if you haven't managed to get past one date over a period of just over a year ? Prior to this, Scarlett was in short- long term relationships but the past year she has gone through a major dryspell and one night along with her best friend, she decides to draw a chart and work out what is wrong with her and she comes to the conclusion - that she must be a horrible and bad kisser. Enter best friend and roommate Finn - he is the "real" reason why none of the guys last longer than on ...more

An awesome read that I absolutely loved!! Adored the characters, Finn and his geeky personality is the best. The writing and pace of the story made this one very enjoyable.

Scarlett Logan has been in a bit of a dry spell. Seems she can't past the first date kiss good night. Not understanding why she turns to her best friend and roommate, Finn McKenzie for help. She's convinced it must be her kissing technique so who else to help her fix it but her best friend? Problem is once that first kiss happ

I adored this book. This was my first time reading Rachel Bailey but I can guarantee you it will not be the last. The Finn Factor is a fun, sweet, swoon-worthy, quick read.

Scarlett Logan, can't seem to keep a date interested. It's been over a year since she's made it past the critical second date. Guys just won't let her in and she can't figure out what she's missing that keeps them from coming back for more. One night after a number of her 'famous mojitos' and some series best friend talk with

Don't you just love a friends to lover romance??? I do and this is a fresh take on that theme! Finn and Scarlett are best friends. They live together, share everything, do everything together, and are always there for the other. The only thing they have never shared was a bed. It was never a conscious thought until Scarlett asks for a favor.

Scarlett has been going through a drought she calls it. She's been dating but never gets beyond a couple of dates. She graphs out her dating history and dete

The Finn Factor is a light and easy read, low on angst and high on sweetness -exactly what I was looking for! Even though the blurb might sound like your typical "fell for the best friend" scenario, the characters are quirky and very charismatic which makes it stand out.

Finn is an archaeomusicologist (I didn't even know that was a thing) who apparently only wears pale blue shirts. He is the legal guardian for his two little sisters, who are not so little anymore but he still protects
This was a nice friends-to-lovers story, which was quite funny inbetween and very sweet.

Finn and Scarlett were great characters and I could understand how their friendship has formed to what they had.
I loved Finns sisters, both were really nice additions and brought a bit extra into this book.

the pacing was good as well ...

so why only 3,5 stars: that is quite a difficult question actually. I liked it but on the other hand I was always waiting for the bit more to happen or a bit more sparks.

Don't get me wrong. I love friends to lovers trope very much. But this book was just meh to me and quite boring. I liked the characters enough to finish the book, and it has some very cute moments but it just didn't do it for me.

This delightful friends to lovers romance is the story of Finn and Scarlett. When Finn rescues Scarlett from his roommate's abusive advances, he becomes a protector of sorts for her, slotting her into his life like his two sisters that's he's cared for since their parents died when he was younger and took guardianship of them. She's his roommate now, and he's gotten into the habit of vetting her dates, finding none of them are good enough for her. Scarlett can't figure out why none of the guys s ...more

I feel like I've read this story before, and that's because I have. It's a pretty popular thing in New Adult for a sweet girl to be inexperienced and her best friend, who just happens to be the hottest guy and biggest player ever, to offer to help her in that department. It could be sex or kissing or just attracting guys in general. But of course, one taste won't be enough and the guy falls for the girl, all while pretending he didn't because he's not good enough for her. Did this ha
When a housemate starts giving kissing lessons, get ready to toss that friendship out of the window and slide down that slippery slope into the burning unknown. At least that's the story of The Finn Factor, when a deluded guy convinces himself that it's for his housemate's own good to scare off her dates. The rather predictable plot is countered by memorable characters and I thought Finn as the star of the show, surprising me only in the way a female author writing him could. In fact, he proved ...more

This was a friends to lovers kinda story, very entertaining all in all.

We have Finn and Scarlett, best friends living together. All in all, everything was normal, until Scarlett realized that she needed kissing lessons… from Finn. Then everything changed, now they couldn’t see each other just as good friends.

We got to see why they were such good friends, and how much they cared for each other. Not only they got along, but their families were also a big part of their interactions.

I’ve long been a fan of Rachel Bailey’s category romances, so it was with great excitement I waited for the release of her second foray into New Adult romance, The Finn Factor. I wasn’t disappointed. Ms Bailey rocks the first person point of view in this tale of friends to lovers.
Absolutely enjoyed every moment of this read. A good balance of humour and emotion tied in with well drawn characters and a great plot. I didn’t think I’d enjoy a New Adult romance (I’m the mother of a new adult – it’s

In all the time that I have read romances never have I read a book like The Finn Factor. Using mathematics and calculations to equate love. The concept is unique and over the top. Yet it works. Scarlett feels safe when she can logically figure things out. So she is sticking with what she knows. On the other hand it would help if she had all the facts. Enter Finn. The Finn Factor is an enchanting look at love, friendship and figuring things out. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Scarlett Logan is going through a dry spell that has lasted longer than she likes, and she turns to her best friend and roomie, Finn Mackenzie for help. Practice kissing him has sparked feelings that she had never noticed before and suddenly safe and solid Finn has become a dating option. But he's been hiding something from her and if she discovers his secret he might just end up losing the only girl who is exactly what he needs in his life.

It has been a while since I’ve read any of Rachel Bailey’s works, The Summer of Jake was one of my favorites and now The Finn Factor has been added to that list.

What a fun and flirty read! I didn't really know if this book would keep my interest but it intrigued me enough to give it a try. Glad I did! Besides being hilarious (always a plus) it was cute and very sexy and you can't go wrong with that.

Scarlett is the type of MC I love in romance books. She's not pathetic in any way, only adorably innocent when it comes to Finn and her feelings for him. Both of them are actually. I loved how there was this life-changing

I was given this book for my honest review

I’d do anything for Scarlett. I’d give up my career, switch to an academic life to give her the stability she needed. Anything. Ironically, now that I understood this, it was too late. I used every curse word I knew and made a couple of new ones up as well. That door was now closed. She’d never risk a relationship with me again after it blew up in our faces. We played with fire. And we both got burned. Finn’s thoughts
