2.5 - "You were memorable." Stars.

This is one of those books I didn’t love, but I didn’t hate it either. I think my main issues stem from the characterization of Piper Summers, in that I am a reader that struggles to understand when a supposedly intelligent woman (she’s training to be a vet) keeps acting like an idiot.

"You’re not one for rules are you?"

I suppose there could be an argument that she is a little scatty and eccentric, and I wouldn’t disagree with that, but it was just everything els

First and foremost I got to say that I saw this book on Netgalley and one clicked it because of the title, yes I know I can be very immature at the best of the times but how cool is the title Must love Wieners?

3.5-4 Mr Handshake Stars.

Piper Summers is an interesting lady. She is studying to become a vet and has three jobs to help with paying her bills. A telegram singer, a taxi driver and a pizza delivery gal. Her one man in her life is her Dachshund Collin. Amongst her many jobs and her stud

3.5 stars. Must Love Wieners is the first in a series by Casey Griffin. It is a mixture of romance, mystery, danger, humour and dachshunds.

Piper has been working hard to become a vet, it has taken her eight years to make her way through the study and clinic work. She has become used to looking out for herself and finds it difficult to accept help from those who just might be able to give it. She runs a tightrope of a variety of money making jobs to make ends meet. Often she doesn't make ends mee

I have to admit, the first thing that caught my attention was the title of the book. When I saw it and actually looked at the cover I knew I wanted it. Not only do I love books that include stories that include animals, but I loved the humor in the title. This is the first time that I've heard of Casey Griffin, but I am excited to pick up her next book in this series. This is the first book in a new series and can be read as a standalone.

2.5 stars but rounding up to three because I do love wieners. Wiener dogs, that is. And this book has a great dachshund character. As for the humans, the two main characters--veterinary student Piper and love interest billionaire CEO, Aiden, were okay, mostly likable and inoffensive. The story was mildly interesting, but the romance was a bit on the tepid side. I would have enjoyed the book much more if it hadn't been for two main problems:

1. The reliance on the horrible "misunderstanding" as a
Rated 3.5 - MUST LOVE WIENERS by Casey Griffin features a quirky, soon-to-be veterinarian heroine whose variety of part-time jobs get her into more doo-doo than a box full of puppies. Her love interest is a wealthy CEO who shakes the heroine’s hand so much that even I began to wonder if he’d ever get brave enough to kiss her. Add in some mystery, plus attempted murder, stolen cars, arson, a dog with a leg fetish, a dachshund rescue facility in trouble, plus a loony reporter who is like a dog wit ...more
I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary romance. It's sexy, funny, has mystery, and it's heartwarming. Not to mention all the cute doggies...especially Colin & Sophie! I'm eager to read the other books in the series now.

Witty, funny, sexy, cute doggy, but a little over the top at times.

I don't envy Piper Summers's life. I was exhausted just reading about her trying to juggle her three jobs, while being in her last year of veterinary school, and she still find the time to volunteer at the Dashund Rescue Center. But it was entertaining to see her deliver pizzas, driving a taxi and sing telegrams in racy costume at the same time.

So how can you be sure a man never forget you ? Find yourself in the most unimagi

Just came across this while working and how could I not?! The title was so cheesy and a little bit too on the nose for a romance. It was cute and definitely filled with plenty of dog related puns. There was a bit too much going on with the mystery for my tastes and not enough steaminess, but overall it was a fun read and I would recommend it.

My Review:

Piper Summers is just fine!

Aiden Caldwell does not mix business with pleasure!

Piper Summers is focused on her goals and is determined to accomplish everything without anyone else’s help. To get through vet school, she works multiple crappy jobs, lives in a ramshackle little apartment with her contraband dog, Colin, and spends every one of her precious free moments at the dachshund rescu

I fell in love while reading Must Love Wieners. Colin and Sophie are so cute together. I wanted to read more about them and I could not get enough of their fun and games. These two dachshunds stole my heart from the moment they entered the story. Before you ask, yes I had 2 Wieners in a previous life. They were so adorable but didn’t like hearing a no. Casey Griffin captured the essence of those dogs in her book, they are so stubborn but looking at them it is making every single person melt as i ...more

I absolutely adore books where their are animals involved and since Casey Griffin is a new author to me the first thing I noticed about this book was the Autumn cover and the dog. This is the first book in A Rescue Dog Romance and I can already guarantee you I'll be picking up book two!

This story really starts off hilarious! Piper is trying to put herself through by working different types of jobs but after the day from hell and being fired from two jobs in just one day she doesn't know exactly

Let me keep this short. The couple is great Aiden and Piper had good chemistry most of the time (not all of the time due to lacking on both parts)

The story itself is great, who doesn't love stories about saving dogs and struggling veterinary students against the odds.

Throw in some mystery and a couple of slimy characters, some near death experiences and you have a GREAT story.

Now let us see why the author almost ruined it.

1. The heroine is supposed to be a "top of her class" veterinary student b

A very hard working Piper knows what it takes to put in the extra hours. Working multiple jobs just to finish what she loves and achieve her goal of becoming a veterinarian. But like real life, Piper had kinks thrown into her ideal plans, and has to roll with the punches. The only person (pup) she knows she can really rely on, is her sweet Dachshund, Colin.

Businessman Aiden really has led a boring life until Piper comes along. Having to gro

If you are looking for a simple, easy-to-read, humorous romance, like dogs and enjoy books written in a style similar to Janet Evanovich then this might be the book for you.

Piper Summers is nearly finished with her degree in veterinary science and to pay her way through school has worked many jobs. When she meets Aiden she is working as a singing telegram girl and is mortified by what happens. As a cute-meet it was pretty good. Their second meeting takes place at the dachshund rescue center Pipe

What a fun read! From the very first page all the way to the last, this author had me chuckling and turning page after page to see what Piper would be up to next. I have to admit the title is what made me pick this up (I just had to know!) but the writing, characters (especially Sophie & Colin) and the fun bit of mystery kept me glued to the book. I really enjoyed how the relationship between Piper and Aidan grew and changed as the story went on. This is definitely a book I will be recommend ...more

A light-hearted romance in between several mysteries! Piper Summers, the taxi driver, pizza deliverer, and singing telegram lady, is trying to finish her veterinarian’s certificate. Most of the story centers on the San Francisco Dachshunds Rescue Center where she volunteers.

Find Must Love Wieners at the Westminster Public Library.

Entertaining and amusing with a mystery that throws a kink in the works between the two main characters. Great fluffy read to clear my palate. Have a greater appreciation for wiener dogs now.

Must Love Wieners is the first in a new series , called Rescue Dog Romance by Casey Griffin. I am a huge dachshund lover, so I couldn't possibly turn down this book. (I have three dachshunds at home- a Black and Tan named Harry, A red long haired name Ron and our newest addition to the clan, a little puppy (who just turned one a few days ago!) named Albus Severus. So that should tell you that I love Harry Potter and

First off I have to say that I'm not sure that a couple of the other reviewers really read the book.... Colin is the Dachshund not the love interest (Aiden)!!!!!!!!! Personally I really enjoyed this book, some very funny parts and amongst other things a dog rescue centre, what's not to like?!

Piper was trying her very best to finish her vet training with very little money and so initially doing as many jobs as possible - taxi cab driver, singing telegram, pizza delivery - and usually all at the s

What a delightful, thoroughly enjoyable read. In Must Love Wieners, Casey Griffin gives us romance, adorable animals, good causes and thrilling suspense.

Piper is pushing herself too hard to finish veterinary school. Luckily, she has Colin, her rescue Dachshund, to keep her company. I love how Piper understands Colin's verbal responses. Poor Piper lives one of those lives where everything that can go wrong does and one day meets Aiden in the middle of an epic disaster.

Must Love Wieners

Griffin’s debut and first in her new rescue dog cozy mystery/romance series is definitely barking up the right tree. Her pooch loving, at first seemingly ill-matched couple, really are a perfect fit. Her co-stars both canine and human entertain and add depth to the novel. Her cute doggie chapter titles and fast paced, flirty, witty puppy-pun filled dialogue is tail wagging good. But it's the every dog gets his day ending that rocks this one of a kind perfect for

Piper Summers is a very interesting gal. To try and make ends meet, she works a number of different jobs sometimes all at the same time. Often delivering pizza in one of her singing telegram costumes doesn't bode well with her boss. Summers wants to focus entirely on becoming a veterinarian and helping out at the local Dachshund Rescue shelter.

After meeting her star-crossed lover, everything in her life goes sideways. Who is targeting her and the precious wiener dogs she loves? Her own pet Dachs

The way Piper words things is entertaining, "she nodded. “I will take great care of your wiener.” The innuendos in this book had me cracking up:
“I can tell,” she muttered . “I can feel your flag flying at full mast.”
His eyebrow quirked up and his smirk was so delicious she wanted to bite his lip. “That’s only half-mast. You’ll know when it’s full.”
I loved this book, I really liked Aiden, and Piper was just hilarious.

I have to say... I have found a new series / author that I will be following.

People who know me via facebook know I love my dachshunds. I have four, so it's a delight to see a series that involves them. I love the little tidbits the author weaves into the story about these larger-than-life dogs, how they have HUGE attitude in a looooooong small body.

Often I find myself gigging because I'm thinking "Mhm, she got that right about them." I also look to whichever one of my dogs is beside me "Do you

Main Guy: Aiden Caldwell
Main Girl: Piper Summers

This was so total romcom. You have all these crazy, crazy misunderstandings. Like honestly I have no idea how Piper got through life; Aiden of course is the rich hero, so he doesn't really have struggles.

Aiden is trying to be this super anonymous, benevolent guy, so it kind of gets a little strange when things really hectic. Towards the end everything gets resolved in a super nice and tidy bow and they can get their happily ever after.

I am not a fan of romance fiction, but I read this because I have a dachshund, and it sounded cute, so why not? Well, it was very silly. Ridiculous, really. The protagonist, Piper, is almost finished with veterinary school. Except, she can't seem to find work in any vet clinic or hospital. She has to stick to demeaning jobs like being a singing telegram girl, dressed in skimpy outfits. And she's broke, of course. I guess she didn't know about student loans. I know I shouldn't expect realism in t ...more
