Erotica with some depth of character

Part of the blurb reads like stuff soft-core porn films of yore were made of:

"It is here she meets a building maintenance man named Dick, and, in indulging in an erotic affair, becomes trapped in a sick web of manipulation and lies"

What separates the two of course is the depth of character - this book is not just erotica and the characters are not mere sex devices - there is more than goes on this book which makes it a worthwhile read for someone like me who p

The story of Southern Medley and a Sordid Affair by PT Borden could easily become the basis for an extended TV series about an engaging and tumultuous love triangle.The characters are well presented and the story is credibly told. The realistic characterization of the players does not leave anything to be desired. Sex, lies, naivety, humiliation and a constant prevailing insecurity created by one of the main players in this drama are the elements that make it a gripping story. Very well told. Bu ...more

A gripping, well written tale worth reading. The main character is a bit naïve when she sets off on an extra marital affair with what is clearly the "wrong" sort of man, who was not at all what he appeared to be. The story follows the affair of Petra, who like many women are both bored and disillusioned with life and the drama that ensues from it.
