Warriors, demons, mystery, love... this book is a fantastic read.

I have read Marilyn Lakewood's other stories and thoroughly enjoyed them so buying Warriors was an easy decision!

This book is filled with mystery that draws you deep into the story, just like Kell is drawn to Strathan. Ms Lakewood creates a magical world that seems to good to be true. And Kell soon discovers there's a catch. I was gripped by this story. It is the first historical romance I've read and it was fantastic. Warriors, de

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. In a world of violence and sex, Kell finds himself in an inbetween world where all his hopes, desires and destiny comes true. A cause to fight for, brothers at arms that are more than just war companions, a woman worth fighting for even if he must share her. Fight for what you believe in, heal in the loving arms of his woman and enjoy the companionship of his brothers at arms. What more could a man ask for? Hot, hot, hot sex; great ...more

This is a wondrous and historic fantasy romp that lovers of Highland fiction will adore, a true hero saves heroine story. Kell is everything a girl loves in her medieval hero: strong, kind, brave and self-sacrificing. I love the magical element that draws Kell to this hidden land, and immersed myself in the fantasy story. A great plot with some truly evil beings, both fantastical and human. The Roman aspects were very well done.

A great story I can highly recommend.

So I don't have any favorite lines because...the whole damn book submersed me into the world of Strathan from the language, the dialog, the description and the characters. I underwent a time warp (Rocky-horror style) to the Roman Empire.

Okay, I lied...I do have these favorite lines:

* “You do not impose—you are crucial here.”
“I, alone, cannot win your cause, Torr.” Why these people thought him vital to the upcoming battle, he could not reason.
“You will aid it.”
Kell faced Torr. “If you t

This took forever to read because I avoided it at all cost. The most ridiculous storyline I have ever read. That will be the last time I judge a book by its cover.

I received an ARC from the author R4R event for an honest review.

Another good outing from Marilyn, this book captured me from the first chapter. Kell a warrior in the Roman army, who's fighting for his family back home and years for a woman of his own, stumbles upon a mystic place when out searching for horse thieves. Discovering Strathan and the mysterious women there will test Kell's stances on finding and keeping a woman all to himself as he discovers the passions that rule and the secrets of

Five star rating.......and I don't give those easily!

When I first started reading this book, I figured it's another historical romance with the blood and treachery associated with Ancient Romans. A hero would prevail but obstacles would have to be overcome first.

Well, let me tell you that this book surpassed what I was expecting! It blew me away. Historical Romance, Treachery, Brotherhood, Bondings, Paranormal themes, Erotica, BDSM themes (which were a bonus and huge surprise) abound in this boo

The Warriors of Strathan is a truely unique story. The beginning of the story reminded me of an episode of Sparticus. However, I think it is the Strathan women who have the real strength. I have to agree with Kell about the no sharing thing, but these people seem to make it work.

This is a suspensful fantasy that was a very enjoyable read. In fact, I could not put it down.

This book was a great read. It takes place during Roman times and has a paranormal spin. Kell is a warrior in the Roman army however he isn’t roman and fights for them to protect his family. Lately he has been unsettled and wanting more. Then one day while trying to find some bandits he gets lost in some mist and winds up in some meadow. He finds himself in a strange land with strange ways. He is taken in by the people and shown around. He sees a woman named Leis and finds himself more attracted ...more

First off I have to say that I’m by far the last person to pick up a Historical Romance. It’s not my choice of romance genres. I fell completely and utterly in love with Warriors of Strathan. You are taken back to a time when men went off to battle for long periods of time in search of better land and to protect the ones the love.
It can’t get much hotter when you meet Kellus. Forced to take up arms with the Roman soldiers to protect his family from harm, he fast becomes a very vital part of the

I rated this book 5 *****'s

A strange book but amazing story indeed!

At first I question myself, what have I been into arguing to read the ARC of this book? It is not my cup of tea but I still read it to show my respect to the author and to the person that does the blog tour.

I am glad that I did read this book of Ms. Marilyn Lakewood. What a strange book but amazing story indeed. I find myself enjoying the story as I read along. It shows the story of ancient romance and warriors willing to fi

Marilyn Lakewood has woven her magic again in Warriors of Strathan. Her tale is one of intrigue, love and independence as Kell stands up against the forces that would use him as their pawn and learns to accept the unique gift of love that is offered to him. She grabbed my attention from the first page and kept it to the last. Her main character Kell is the ideal image of a Roman soldier, sexy, strong and self-assured and yet when he is thrown into a world he never imagined the journey he takes c ...more

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  This book is a historical romance with a twist.  Taking you back to the Roman days of invading other lands for power, riches and women, you have a storyline that incorporates a hidden magical realm within and has heroic warriors defending their lands from harpies and demons along with nefarious outsiders. What's not to love; this book has it all. The author's characters and world are well-developed with a story that flows and pull ...more

This was my first novel by Marilyn Lakewood; it was different than I expected. The story was intriguing and thrilling. I wanted to know what would happen next. I can’t say I truly connected to the characters but I did care if their life was forever changed.
I felt Kell was strong and determined, while Leis was kind hearted but was lack something to me. I’m not sure what. Kell is forced to fight a war for Rome when he would rather live a life of peace and comfort with a wife and kids. He learns t

This book is definitely for adults only. The sex scenes are very intense. A little to rough for my liking.
Kell is a high ranking soldier in the Roman army. He only serves because his family is hostage in Rome. While hunting horse thieves he stumbles across a hidden valley. The people who live in the valley must fight a monstrous foe every month.
Leis is drawn to the outsider, but she needs two warriors to bond with to complete her magic.
Torr and his twin brother Taic. both want the beautiful L

So to say historical romances aren't really my favorite is an understatement. However, the cover and blurb really made me want to read Warriors of Strathan. I was drawn in from the beginning and wanted to know more if this magical world and its inhabitants. Kell is wonderful and really a girl's dream come true. The storyline is full of mystery, hot steamy scenes, and sexy alpha males. This is my first read of Marilyn Lakewood but will not be my last.

While I received a reviewers copy of the Warriors of Strathan for my honest review. I was skeptical at first due to the content being somewhat out of my norm to read. However, I loved every page turnign moment.
Move over Spartacus, say hello to Kellus! I was pulled in and didn't want to let go. Great read for anyone who loves to delve into Rome's occupation of ancient England and it's Isles..

Marilyn writes erotic romance. Her stories range in heat levels from sweet to hardcore, sometimes include ménage, and usually have themes of dominance and submission. Be advised, the road to love is a little hard at times. You may need to buckle your cuffs. ♥
