Before the outbreak, Sahara was a high school teacher living alone in a small Alabama town. She saw her life as nothing more than endless days of teaching children Shakespeare and nights reading paranormal romances. She was happy with her life, as quiet and mundane as it was.

After the outbreak, Sahara becomes a warrior traveling across the country in search of sanctuary. S

When the zombie virus went wild, no one knew, was it a government experiment gone horribly wrong, a terrorist’s chemical attack? Aliens? All the few remaining survivors knew were that they were Resistant and humanity is now mere food for the infected. Citizens were warned to hunker down, make a fortress of their h

My Thoughts - Story
I often wonder why I keep going back to this genre and I think I figured it out. There is action, there is a story that keeps unfolding. Yes, the author may spend a lot of time with feelings and some erotic moments, bu

Full review to follow! For now, this book was my first post-apocalyptic book and I LOVED it! I had no idea zombies could be this intriguing! (Okay, it wasn't the zombies so much as it was Sahara and Daniel!!). I'll post more later on why this book had my full attention and why I think everyone needs to read it!

****A few little spoilers****

Okay, so update! This was my first zombie book (like I said). The beginning had my stomach turning! Like when the dad was snacking on his child! OMG!! But I co

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love this book, Resistant is awesome! It's realistic, I can believe that modern America would react to a zombie outbreak just like the characters in Resistant do. I've had a problem before with other zombie and some vampire books because they're too... horror movie-ish. But this one's so different, I could see how it could really happen and that made the book have a deeper hold on me. It kept my heart racing, between the "oh my God, this could actually ha ...more

I was entranced with this novel. There a many different takes on what happens when there is a zombie outbreak and this was no different. I thought the way everything came about was interesting and the characters in the story were very relate-able. This can be felt with Sahara our heroine in the story- you can feel her unsureness of her own-self at times and there were a few moments when I wanted to smack some sense into her but having dealt with my own self esteem issues i could relate to how sh ...more

Disclaimer: I received an ARC from Ms. Jennifer Reynolds in exchange for an honest review.

I seriously have no idea how to start my review for Resistant. Awesome, fantastic, tremendous, awe-inspiring, astounding, perfect, omygod-its-freaking-awesomely good, or im-so-gonna-marry-this-book-right-now-if-i-can splendid, are not enough.

It’s heart stopping and ‘watch your back there’s a jump scare in between those lines’, good.

This is the first zombie apocalypse book that I have ever re

First of all I have to say that I'm in love with Sahara. I found her to be an amazing point of view. She captivated with her personality from the beginning and I found myself not being able to stop. The story line flowed nicely and everything kept up with a fast pace. My favorite part was near the beginning when they woke her up and she was throwing shade left and right while not wearing pants. That is the moment when I knew I found my he

I'm discovering I like the horror genre, more than I thought I did! This is my second Jennifer Lynne Reynolds book. Her handling of the zombie subgenera is superb. She really seems to know what she's talking about, despite the fact that zombies aren't real. (Right? Right?!) There are some very steamy sex scenes, which really isn't my thing, but they didn't take over the story, so I didn't really mind. I only wish there was a bit more dialog, a little more showing & less telling. All in all, ...more

Resistant is the first romance novel I have read. Jennifer did a good job of taking very average people and thrusting them in an extraordinary situation — the zombie apocalypse. I learned much seeing this world from a woman's point of view. The love story between Sahara and Daniel did get frustrating at times, but isn't that the way of many real world relationships. Walmart? Really? How North Alabama is that? Epicenter of the universe, right? Jennifer added low key humor throughout the story, an ...more

I very much enjoyed this book. Though at times, I wanted to smack the main character over the head for lack of communication, as a whole, I was engrossed throughout. I liked Sahara's strength and the protectiveness of Daniel towards her, even while he acknowledged her abilities. While I was frustrated at times at Sahara's obliviousness to Daniel's feelings, I was happy when they finally got together. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable book. I look forward to reading more by Jennifer Reynolds.
I really enjoyed this one. I only wished that Daniel had a POV would
have love to know what went through his mind!
But overall the story was well paced the characters where great!

I enjoyed listening to this story. Jennifer Reynolds builds character using the feelings and inner workings of the human mind. She interprets actions with what a character is feeling. Not many authors do that and she does it well.

The story takes place over a number of years. In the beginning people are aware that a zombie apocalypse could be somewhere in the futures horizon. Some people take this more seriously than others. Either way when it happens some precautions have been put into place. It
