From its very first editions, this book has been the gold standard for clear exposition of the most important physics needed to understand medicine, biology, and medical technology. Each edition has kept the material up to date and extended the book's breathtaking reach, for example, adding a chapter on ultrasound. A physics textbook is only as good as the problems it offers, and this edition has many more than before. Many of the problems are directly relevant to medicine or biomed
