Faith finds out that her birth was the result of a rape instead of the fireman hero her mom always told her about. After her mom died, she found her mom's diary and found out the truth. Now, Faith is out for revenge against the man who never paid for what he did.

As far as the story itself, I really enjoyed parts of it. I get where Faith was coming from and why she was seeking revenge. The story was a bit unbelievable though with her "borrowing" her cousin's identity, changing her appearance and

*I received this e-copy from NetGalley for an honest review* First, can I say how awesome this cover is? I mean the girl isn't a ninja in this book (which would be so cool) but it's so cool! Totally describes this book metaphorically.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The anger Faith feels towards her father is so real, I totally understood her. Her reasoning for vengeance may have been... intense, but in her situation, I don't think I could sit around and not do anything. I'd probably at leas

How do you feel when everything you knew about your foundations turned out to be a lie?
How do you cope? Do you try to move on? Do you try and find answers?
What if the answers you find aren’t the one you are looking for? What if you find something a whole lot more sinister?

Try and have the answers to these questions before you start the book.
And then read the book. Now answer the above questions again. Do you see a c

Kathleen Mix has written eight books and this is the first I've gotten the opportunity to read. You know, I'm pretty surprised by that. I mean, there are thousands of authors out there and I, by no means, know each and every one of them but Mix is a good one and I'm just surprised that I've not heard of her before. The genre of romantic suspense has become my favorite these past few months and I'm excited to have found another author that I can add

WTF Are You Reading?
Faith Rochambeau's story of retribution, revenge, and release is very well done and a quite enjoyable read. For the most part.
There are however, a few buts...

The book opens with Faith's discovery of her mother's journal, and with it the unearthing of a terrible secret.
Faith is a child of rape.
Because this secret is revealed after the death of her mother.   Faith feels that she has no other choice in her quest for answers and justice for the crime that lead to her conception, than to confront the

I have to admit I had some serious mixed feelings about this book, I wanted to like it a whole lot more then I did. I really loved the premise of the book, that our heroine is the product of a rape, and after her mother dies she finds out about it. So what does she do, she seeks out to get revenge on the man who raped her mother. Of course, once she gets there things never go exactly to plan do they? Like I said, I

I was drawn in by the synopsis of this book and it was quite an enjoyable read in the end. Faith Rochambeau has always had fond memories of the man who fathered her based on her mother's stories, but after her mother's death her journal reveals that they were just that: stories. The truth is very hard for Faith to take, that she was the result of a rape and in fact her biological father is now a respected and successful businessman who never paid for his crime against her mother. And a

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.

Where to start? Those who follow my reviews know I don't normally do romances, primarily because I feel they lack plots. But between the amazing cover and enticing blurb, I requested this book for early review. I had so much to say about this book, I'm going to break it down into segments so I don't forget anything.

Review - Sins of the Father - by Kathleen Mix - ***** 5 Stars *****

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher, for an honest review on behalf of the THE BOOK NUTS REVIEWERS.

What a wonderful surprise this book was to me. I have never read any Kathleen Mix but will certainly research some of her other works now for future reading.

This book had every kind of emotion as well as intrigue, suspense, a little hot sexual action and most of all a wonderfully structured story.

It's the story of Faith

This is a new-to-me author. When I saw this book on NetGalley and read its blurb, I got really interested in the story. The heroine is a product of rape. She only learned this when she got hold of her mother's diary as she was packing her mother's things after the latter's funeral. All her life, she was told that her father was a firefighter who died saving other people. She always saw her father as

Sins of Her Father is a book with a great story line and amazing premise. Faith is cleaning out her mother's home after she passes away and finds out the truth behind her father. She's completely overwhelmed by the desire to seek vengeance on her father and make him pay for what he's done. The only part of the story that I had trouble with was Faith assuming her cousin's identity.

Faith makes plans and acts on them. In the process she meets Kent. Although Faith has been very sheltered in terms o

Wow! I loved this book! Initially, I was hesitant because the premise of the story was based on rape and I didn't want to read a graphic book on rape. Fortunately, that is not this book and I am so glad I was able to read an ARC from Netgalley.

This is a book about people that are each keeping their own secrets for their own reasons - from protecting their heart, to being able to investigate secretly, to not getting caught for their criminal acts.

Fascinating story. Very well written and developed. Faith has suffered a tragic loss of her mother and while cleaning out her house she discovers her greatest held secret. Faith was the result of a rape. Her mother had always told her that her father was a hero long passed away. Gripped with this information Faith sets out with her cousin's identity to find her father and bring him to justice. Faith does not expect to find Kent in the process.

This was a pretty good book that was full of suspense and a bit of romance. I enjoyed the idea of Faith wanting to get justice for her mother who was raped as a teenager which led to her birth. All of the the things that were uncovered about her birth father made this book very interesting because he was just an evil man. I also liked the the romance between her and Kent. All in all, I enjoyed the writing style of Kathleen Mix. While reading SINS OF HER FATHER, I was engrossed in the story and wanted Faith to feel closure on her life (because in all honesty, that was the most she could do). I enjoyed Kent's character and really liked the two of them together. I felt that Ms. Mix wrote the suspense well, and she did a great job with the emotion as well. I have very mixed feelings for this book!
At the beginning, I loved it! Towards the middle, it got boring. Then I just could not put it down....
I can't explain why this happened. All I can say is that I speed-read some of the middle pages, because they couldn't hold my attention.
Oh! and I found the ending, between Kent and Faith, a bit rushed.
Other than that, it was a genuine idea, cleverly ploted. Not well (in my opinion) written and analised, but certainly a book I liked.
