Mickie has practically sacrificed her life to raise her sister Angel, since their parents couldn't be bothered to do so. They would just give Angel what ever she wanted when she wanted it, never set any boundaries. This is how she basically becomes a self centered bitch only thinking about herself. Angel gets caught up in the dirty underbelly of the world when she starts seeing / dating the president of the motor cycle club.

This one was much darker than the first in the series. It was intense and hardcore, not one for those of us who like fluffy romances featuring bossy alphas.

Crew is an FBI man who's gone undercover in an MC. Now I've read lots of MC books and, according to them, MC members are hard on the outside, soft on the inside. Yeah, so this gang wasn't. Yikes it was dark, with deets of drug abuse, violence, sexual assault and other vileness all the way through. It was darker than I'm comfortable with tbh s

We're going nitty gritty with this one people and I loved it. If you read book one, Justice for Mackenzie, then you'll remember Cruz saying he was going undercover for a few months. (If you haven't read book one yet, I really suggest you do. Yes, you can easily follow this story without feeling lost, but it does help you get the full picture of Cruz and his friends. Plus, Dax and Mackenzie's story...beautiful and heartwrenching at the same time.)

Now Cruz is an FBI agent undercover as "Smoke" wit

Another solid read from Susan Stoker! I loved that the MC was portrayed as the bad guys and Susan gives a nod to the trend in romance novels. It was nice to have bad guys be exactly what you expect. There is no bad boy with a heart of gold waiting to be discovered by the right woman. I appreciate that trope on occasion, but its nice to have actual GOOD GUYS like you find in Susan's books! Full review will be up on the blog soon The Book Disciple ...more

Did you read my previous review where I stated this series will send me binge reading?

Well it did. I immediately started Justice for Mickie as soon as I finished Justice for Mackenzie and again.. Not. Disappointed.

Mickie is trying to save her sister from herself as well from making a mistake with her new boyfriend Ransom who is the president of an MC. Well, not just any MC, but the worst that San Antonio has. While trying to save her sister she meets and begins dating Cruz Livingston. The FBI

After reading and enjoying ‘Justice for Mackenzie’, the first book in this series. I got curious about the second book so I just decided to read it.

When Cruz gets the chance to infiltrate into a motorcycle club who is under suspicion of dealing drugs, he takes the job. Because he knows from personal experience what drugs can do to people. But the last thing that Cruz expects when he goes undercover, is that he will meet a woman that makes his heart beats faster. Not only is the timing

**I received a copy of this book, from the author, in exchange for a honest review.**

I was one of the select few to receive an advance copy for Justice For Mickie by Susan Stoker. I have to admit though, going into this I was slightly conflicted. I adore Mrs. Stoker's books and bow down to her greatness in romance writing. I also love MC books and it's known that the MC in this book is not your mama's MC. I think that showing the barbaric side of this outlaw MC is pivotal in this book. It create

Cruz is undercover for the FBI investigating the Red Brothers Motorcycle Club. Angel, Mickie's sister, is involved with the club's president. When Ransom, the president, threatens Mickie for trying to get Angel away from him, Cruz decides to get closer to her in order to protect her. He didn't count on falling for her though.

I liked Mickie. Even though Angel treated her terribly, she was determined to be there for her. She wanted to have a relationship with her and was willing to wait for her to

I don't usually read MC books, but I am glad I took a chance on this one. I absolutely loved the characters of Mickie and Cruz. The way they meet and then the bond formed was great. Cruz is a very caring guy stuck in an untenable situation. Mickie is almost the same way, having been pretty much responsible for raising her younger sister. The action and suspense will keep you gripping the edge of your seat, and the romance will have you swooning. I definitely want to read more in this series. I r ...more

This is not your usual Susan Stoker book. It's gritty, dirty, raw and just plain perfection! I was a little concerned at first, though. I was annoyed with Angel and Mickie. The whining (Mickie) and bitching (Angel) just threw me off and I almost stopped reading. I am so glad I stuck with it!!

In every book of Susan's, the man is the one who does the saving. I don't think that's the case in this story. I think Mickie is the one who saved Cruz. He seemed so lost to me. The things he had to do and t
So much of this one was predictable, yet I really liked Cruz and Mickie as a couple. Mickie seemed to be the thing that kept Cruz tethered while he was working such a horrible job. Yet her close connection to the case brought him trouble. You knew when Mickie found out the truth the crap would hit the fan. To say that happened was an understatement. It didn't help that Mickie found out in the worst possible way. I wasn't sure that they would be able to make it as a couple after that madness, but ...more
This is the love journey of Mickie and Cruz. Mickey is the concerned older-sister of a young woman and Cruz is the undercover cop assigned to break up a drug ring. This was similar to the first book - in a good way. The plot is pretty simple, but the tension is real. There are some tropes that could have been annoying, but were actually well done. But no mistake, this is dirty and gritty and ugly in places.

Note: if you don't like to read about motorcycle clubs where the women are treated like trash, avoid this story - they abuse is detailed and pervasive.

There is a HEA, and the bad guys get what's coming to them. But it's a pretty nasty road to get there.

Cruz goes under cover in an MC gang who are dealing drugs, they are evil, bad and violent. They don't care about any women even their ol' ladies, abuse is the norm. While Cruz is deciding on the best way to get inside information he meets Mickie, instead of getting closer to her sister he decides to do what he can to keep Mickie as far away from the club as he can. Another great story from Susan Stoker in the Texas Hero's series. We met Cruz in book 1 as an FBI agent he has been tasked to go undercover as "smoke" to infiltrate an MC group. Once in amongst the club he is tasked with keeping the sister of the presidents new side piece Angel away from club business. The sister turns out to be the heroine Mickie.

The danger comes when Cruz meets Mickie as himself so he now has to try and keep his two personas separate even though in reality they bleed together

Working to fight the illegal drug trade, Cruz goes undercover with the Red Brothers and the story definitely shows a darker side of an MC.

Mickie tries to stop her sister from making some very bad decisions and get her away from the Red Brothers MC. Cruz wants to protect Mickie from this dark world, but she is drawn closer and closer by her sister’s choices.

Well how do ya like them apples? Daaaang... Talk about an eye opener. This book is different than the others of Susan's and I really, really liked that most about it. All of her books are great but this one has a hardcore vibe to it. And I think that vibe fits Cruz the best!

Cruz Livingston, FBI, has gone undercover in one of the baddest biker clubs in San Antonio. The Red Brothers don't play. The traffic drugs, have more prostitutes than a dog has fleas and just as many bad attitudes. Cruz make

Intense, emotional and oh, so good….

“That sarcastic tone conveys a hint of snark with a bit of sassy thrown in for good measure.”

And that sets the tone for the second outing in the Texas Heroes series. This can be read as a standalone, but if you haven’t read Dax and Mackenzie’s story you are missing out. This is Cruz and Mickie’s chance at love and they make the most of it!

First I have to say I loved this book. Cruz has been the story I was waiting on since the Justice series began. I love how all of Susan's books are in the same world yet each is unique. You don't have to let go of old friends and seeing those little peeks into past books is wonderful

I read and reviewed my personal copy of this book for Wicked Reads.

Mickie's sister Angel is "dating" the President of the Red Brothers MC. Angel is young and naive and believes that Ransom is like the MC Presidents in the romance books, good but rough around the edges. Mickie knows better and is doing her best to try to convince her sister to stay away from the club.

I LOVE Susan Stoker's work, but I didn't love this story. However, the writing gets 5 stars! Cruz is undercover in a BAD motorcycle club. And for me, that part of the story overshadowed the good parts between him & Mickie, unfortunately. There is a LOT of detail in the bad parts of the club, so I would just put that as a warning to fans of the other books in the SEAL series. The author DOES give warnings, and the reasons she's given for writing this story so dark are valid, but even with the war ...more

Well, if you've read a book by this author before you sort of know what to expect. Rather poor grammar, some odd typos/ mistakes of the their/they're variety, dialogue that can be seriously clunky, and scenarios that are beyond unrealistic. HOWEVER, you can usually (mostly) look past that because of the fun story, appealing alpha male and some real humour too.

Unfortunately, not this time. The heroine was fairly tedious and stupid. The hero was just dull. The chemistry between them didn't work a
