I'm going to be honest this book took me a lot longer finish then the first one. For one I thought this story started out a little on the slow side and nothing started to really happen until 40%.

To really understand this story I suggest reading book 1 before you start this one. Could it be read as a standalone? Yes, but even though Desrochers talks about their background in this story it really all starts with book 1.

Lee and Oliver had a relationship in college that started out as them trying t

But all she ever wanted was revenge.

This series is certainly picking up steam as it goes along and just gets better. Over The Line was an action-packed, sizzling hot ride from begging to end. Add in a splash of forbidden romance between two dueling mafia families, revenge, and a love in spite

I was a huge fan of book one, Outside the Lines. With tons of passion and suspense, I knew that it was my kind of book and boy was I correct. And then that preview for this, well it's safe to say that I was on pins and needles for this book, Over the Line.

Lisa Desrochers has a faithful follower in me for her On the Run series. Full of steam, suspense, action, twists, turns, and drama, you are in for one heck of a ride. And the plus side of this series, each book follows in order and can

I looove forbidden romances, and I’m a sucker for them especially when the mafia is involved. So Over the Line should’ve been the perfect read for me – and while I enjoyed it, even more than the first On the Run book, it still wasn’t quite what I’d hoped for. Nonetheless, if you love books with action, suspense, chemistry, and the mafia, I would definitely recommend this one. And if you liked Outside the Lines, this sequel will be perfect for you!

I am loving the On The Run Series by Lisa Desrochers. This dynamic new series is quite different from most mafia themed series. It’s a series about a family, siblings in the witness protection program. Not only are they hiding from their enemies but they are also hiding from their own family. There is a power play within the family and they may be in the way. Their lives have been turned upside down. They’ve gone from privileged city kids from a powerful family to an ordinary middle class famil

My Thoughts:

Over the Line is the second book in the On the Run Series, and is the story of Lee Delgado and Oliver Savoca. In book 1, Outside the Lines, we learned that the Delgado Family was in witness protection. Their father, Felix Delgado, the head of the largest and most powerful Sicilian mafia crime family, is serving time in prison. After an unknown enemy attempted to kill one of the Delgado siblings, they were relocated to Port St. Mary, Florida. The Delgado's have made a new life for the

Following Outside the Line, the story picks up without gap switching perspectives to the next oldest in line, Lee. There are nice recaps woven throughout the narrative to ensure previous events are refreshed while continuing progression of both the characters and the plot.

Lee is buried under the wight of her decisions, regret holds her back from embracing her new identity. Highly intelligent with an affinity for numbers, Lee finds herself stuck without employment and unable to list her money lau

I read book 1, Outside the Lines, and loved it, so I knew Lee's story would be good too. But to my delight this installment was even better. It blew me away. The writing, the story, the chemistry, the characters, the suspense...but most of all the romance. Everything was ratcheted up a notch and it was a total home run.

Oliver Savoca. *swoon swoon swoon* Let me tell you, he is the main reason you need to read this book. He is sexy as f*ck all get out.

I was looking forward for this story. It was like the modern Romeo and Juliet with a mob twist. This was hotter, sexier, a little more dangerous, and poses new sets of questions that will piqued your interest and keep you awake trying to discover it.

Theirs was a dangerous game of wills and who falls first. Both of them have hidden agenda why they want to get close to each other. It was never their plan to fall in love. So they try to resist what they feel for each other, considering that their f

Wow! What a ride! This book was even better than the first book. I loved the first one but this latest installment brought so much more suspense, mystery and drama. I love a good mafia book but when you add romance to the mix I am a goner. Over The line’s writing and action had me hooked from the very beginning all the way to the very end. This story is about the Delgados children who are on the run. They have entered witness protection since their father got sent to jail and their mother was killed. Wes is in charge of their case as far as the witness protection goes. Lee is a young lady that

I am a huge fan of Lisa Desrochers A LIttle Too Far series so when I saw this book on Netgalley I instantly requested it not realising that it was the second book in the series (oops); but I never at any stage found it confusing or hard to follow.

When I first saw Over The Line I was completely intrigued. I’ve been on a small mob/mafia kick lately with Katee Robert’s O’Malley’s series so I figured Over The Line would be right up my alley. Add in the fact that it’s New Adult and I was completely on board. What I didn’t realize was that it’s the second in a series, but thankfully it’s a standalone series! I really hate reading a series out of order but thankfully I never once felt like I missed something by not reading Outside The Lines fir ...more

Over the Line is the second book in the On the Run series by Lisa Desrochers. While this book could technically standalone, I wouldn't recommend it. Lisa Desrochers does give some of the backstory here, but I think in order to really get the full history and enjoyment out of this book it should be read after the first in the series, Outside the Lines.

Over the Line is Lee Delgado's story. She never planned to fall in love with Oliver Savoca,

I had loved Lisa Desrochers first book in this On the Run series—Outside the Lines. Rob and Adri’s story was exciting and fun. This second book—Over the Line—was even better.

I had liked Lee Delgado/Davidson from the first book. She came off as the responsible older sister, who had managed her father’s mob books back in Chicago and now manages the family while in witness protection. But there is so much more to Lee than meets the eye. Now I love her.

Growing up in a mob family has a way of making

I've been eagerly anticipating this second book in the On The Run series and Ms. Desrochers doesn't disappoint with this forbidden romance.

Lee Delgado/Davidson was one semester away from obtaining her Master's degree. She's bored and frustrated with her new life and craves everything she's left in Chicago including the man she had a secret relationship with. So when he turns up unexpectedly after tracking her and her family down, she takes matters into her own hands.

Oliver Savoca has never forgo

Lee and Oliver met when they were in college and though they should never even have gotten together, when love and lust are involved, there's really no rhyme or reason that can sway them. Both Lee and Oliver and their respective families have lost a great deal, and after everything that's happened, you would think that the best thing was for them to simply stay away from

The action packed story of the Delgado family is back and this time we get to see Lee’s story! Over the Line is a mafia meets Romeo and Juliet type story, one that bounces from the past to the present, giving the reader the full scope of what happened then and what is happening now. When I first started to read this book I was worried it would turn into a love triangle story but there is one thing I can say with certainty. Lee’s heart is taken, even when she did not recognize it. Seeing the past ...more

This had me hooked from the beginning. It's a great mafia Romeo/Juliet triangle type romance! Although the actual dynamics of the book were a bit confusing at first, the author did a very good job of explaining what was going on since I had not read book 1. And here I go to get book 1. Because I bet that book was great too!

I'm really enjoying this mafia series a lot. Lee Delgado never planned on falling in love, much less with a son of a crime lord. Especially Oliver Savoca, who is from a rival family. Now that both of their fathers have gotten popped for racketeering, there isn't a chance in the world for them to be together. If these obstacles aren't daunting enough, Lee finds out about a contract on her life, and she's pretty sure Oliver is behind it. She is forced to work with Federal Agent Sean Callahan super ...more

Wow! So happy with how this series is moving. The first book had some suspense in it, but this one had me turning pages fast wanting to see where it was going. Nice twist and surprises!

Love Lee's character. Such a nurturer but fiercely protective of her family. Liked the back story between her and Oliver. The Romeo/Juliet, forbidden romance aspect of this book was the first thing that caught my eye. I love the idea of two people finding love, even with the greatest of obstacles thrown in their path. And Lee and Oliver faced some pretty insurmountable obstacles. The children of warring Chicago Mob families, the two never should have become friends, let alone lovers. But that's exactly what happened.

After book one, I was hoping this one would have more of a Godfather/Goodfellas vibe going on, and I caught glimpses, but it still left me wanting more.

Lee is strong, intelligent, and loyal almost to a fault. I didn't always agree with the choices she made, but I could understand why she was making them. She owned her mistakes and did what she could to rectify them. I can totally respect that.
