Finally the main story line got moved along a little! The Shuichi Akai reveal could have been better but oh well :P Somehow this has plunged me right back into my Detective Conan obsession... I'm not sure what it is but this manga series is SO ADDICTIVE.

As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻

Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.

#1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!

Ok, I'm done with everything that's released in the US so far for this series.
Its been a 3 months journey with this series, and sadly to say, its not over yet. The author says there's at least another 5 years (real time) of stories for this series, and its popular enough that the publisher probably doesn't want him to end it either. I don't blame either as hits are far and hard to come by, so if you can milk it, you should..especially if you still enjoy what you're doing.
So to this point, the main plot points have not really advanced much, there's been inches here and there, but nothing that materially changes the game. The pattern is still about 3 non-plot point cases to 1 plot point case, although if someone did a page count, they might find that the page count for non-plot points vs plot point cases are not quite 3:1, but it feels that way to me. =)
The author's even added more characters, as if there wasn't enough characters in the first place...but I guess one must have variety in life.
I wish the series could have been over by now, and I kinda regret picking it up, but also not enough to ding that by more than one star. The cases are still relatively interesting to read even if the author's given up on making it reader solvable since my last review at the midway point.
I'd say pick up this series only if you really like mysteries, and can tolerate some drama in between.
The drawing's good, the writing's not bad, it gets very same-old same-old by the 1/4 point, so past that point you're just reading to see how the progression of the characters happen, and they don't. they're archetypes and archetypes cannot change. So you're just seeing how they relate to each other, and..honestly nothing there changes either. Who the characters like don't change, no matter what, and no one important dies.
Seen in this light, maybe I should ding another star, but this is pulp. you're reading for fun. =). so 3.5 stars and we'll call it even ok? =). Oh, you can't set 0.5 stars in goodreads, so 4 stars it is.

5 sao. Kết thúc của Bourbon arc.
Màn đối đầu đúng nghĩa nghẹt thở của Conan + Akai vs Amuro. Để đến được điểm này thì tác giả cũng đã xây dựng một hành trình tương đối dài hơn. Có thể là ở một số chi tiết làm tiết lộ thân phận của Amuro là cảnh sát Nhật Bản, cho đến một cảnh flashback nói chuyện với Hell Angel (đọc cảnh đó mà mình cũng phải rùng mình). Bên cạnh đó là nhiều chi tiết cho thấy Akai vẫn còn sống và cách mà anh ta vượt qua lưỡi hái tử thần. Điều làm mình ấn tượng nhất là teamwork của Bourbon và Vermouth, và kế hoạch đỉnh cao của Kudo. Mặc dù kết thúc hơi lãng xẹt một chút nhưng suy cho cùng thì Akai đã nhắc nhở được Amuro về mục đích thật sự của ảnh, và không cho lòng thù hận làm lu mờ lý trí.
Nhân vật Amuro Tooru chắc chắn là nhân vật tổ chức áo đen hiện đang hoạt động mà được xây dựng có chiều sâu và phức tạp nhất. Chưa kể là vì ảnh là cảnh sát Nhật nên có thể ảnh cũng rất được lòng fan Nhật nữa (cái này mình đoán :))). Cũng vì thế mà bác già có duyệt hẳn một series Zero's Tea Time để khai thác background của nhân vật này, movie sắp tới cũng xoay quanh ảnh và đồng đội cũ. Và còn rất là đẹp trai, da ngăm tóc trắng gu của các chị em (và của mình nữa :v). Nói chung là thiết kế nhân vật Bourbon ở giai đoạn này của truyện là rất hợp lý và làm hài lòng fan.
Nói chung là mình vẫn rất hài lòng với Conan đến thời điểm này, tuy diễn biến có hơi lê thê một chút nhưng mạch truyện chính vẫn rất chỉn chu và xuất sắc.

This volume of Case Closed picks up where the previous left off, so if it has been awhile since you read it…I highly recommend going back to volume 84 before starting the current volume being reviewed. This story is a real cat and mouse type of story which I believe would be almost incomprehensible if you had not been reading the last 10-15 volumes of Case Closed. While the series usually is very much accessible to all, I don’t think one would care about the mystery as much without the background. I will admit to not feeling as compelled reading it as I wanted to be, but it was still interesting enough. The reveal at the end of the story was very interesting! The next story again harkens back to another story about Taiko (trying to win 7 championships to impress the love of his life) and Officer Yumi who has now been kidnapped!!! The criminal (who reminds me in this story of the Riddler) is giving clues containing shogi pieces. I found it a very clever story and very interesting. The story involves the Junior Detectives as well, but they aren’t in it as much. This story was a great and warming tale…in my mind! The next story…involves a death of one of the Oiso Family Daughter! Sera, Rachel and Serena are all involved in this case…and it does not reach it’s conclusion within this volume, so stay tuned for volume 86 of Case Closed!

Finally, some major reveals! This volume is packed with the twists and turns I was hoping for, and it was great to see more involvement from the supporting characters. I especially enjoyed the deeper dive into Bourbon’s character—he’s far more complex than he first appeared, and Aoyama knows just how to keep us on edge, dropping hints without giving away too much. Such a tease!
The Yumi and her shogi master boyfriend case was a refreshing change of pace after those reveals. And now, I’m absolutely dying to know more about Sera and her siblings.

Quasi la metà di questo volume porta avanti la trama orizzontale dell’Organizzazione, si capisce che Zero voglia arrivare ai piani alti dell’Organizzazione consegnando Akai, ma i suoi scopi potrebbero essere diversi da quelli pensati inizialmente da Conan, infatti in seguito lo definirà alleato. Alla fine Akai riesce a scamparla e ritornare alla sua vita come Subaru Okiya, però informando anche Camel e Jodie della nuova identità.
Caso del rapimento di Yumi: molto carino anche questo, vediamo Shukichi Haneda dover affrontare una specie di caccia al tesoro per salvare Yumi. Il tutto nel mentre stia affrontando la finale per ottenere il settimo ed ultimo titolo di maestro negli shogi.
Caso della morte in piscina: inizio e indagini di un caso ambientato nel nuovo albergo dove alloggia Sera, il pretesto era di parlare da solo con Conan ma lui si porta appresso Ran e Sonoko e poi c’è la digressione del caso di omicidio in piscina. Odio quando interrompono il caso a fine volume!

ngganteeng-- bahas aja Akai terus~~ akhirnya yang jadi pertanyaan awang-awang selama ini dibahas juga, dan sukkaaa liat Amuro (Rei Furuya) & Subaru di satu scene. tambahan ada si Vermouth jugaa: entah Amuro punya rahasia apa sama si Vermouth sampe bisa klop saling bungkam. dan bakal ada anggota organisasi jubah hitam yang beraksi: Rum.
kasus kedua juga seru. melibatkan si Shukichi (pacar polisi Yumi), walau ada unsur permainan papan dari jepang yang gak saya ngerti, tapi tetep seru untuk diikuti. ada satu pertanyaan: kenapa Subaru perhatiin si Shukichi ini yak?

Deg-degan baca kasus yang pertama. Meskipun masih ada sedikit misteri tentang Amuro, tapi bisa dibilang kasus seri merah ini sudah selesai. Senang mengetahui kalau tokoh... errr ... yang itu dan yang satunya lagi baik-baik saja, baik secara sifat maupun keadaan :D
Kemudian ada kasus tentang polisi Yumi dan pacarnya. Saya rasa, seperti biasa, kisah cinta mereka berdua ini lucu.
Dan yang terakhir ada kasus yang melibatkan Sera dan saudarinya yang misterius itu. Bersambung tentu saja, dan bikin penasaran.
Secara keseluruhan, saya suka sekali dengan volume ini. Hanya saja ada beberapa halaman yang terlepas. Hedeh, merusak suasana saja. Tapi itu cuma derita saya aj kali ya.
Ya sudahlah, yang penting saya masih suka dengan cerita detektif Conan. Kasih 5 bintang lagi, tentu saja :D
Kemudian ada kasus tentang polisi Yumi dan pacarnya. Saya rasa, seperti biasa, kisah cinta mereka berdua ini lucu.
Dan yang terakhir ada kasus yang melibatkan Sera dan saudarinya yang misterius itu. Bersambung tentu saja, dan bikin penasaran.

Setelah sekian lama, akhirnya ada kemajuan juga di cerita Conan.
Seri kasus merah darah tentang Amuro dan Akai cukup seru. Kasus lain tentang Taiko Meijin juga bagus, plot ceritanya lebih bagus dari biasanya, dan tampaknya yang akan dibahas di buku berikutnya adalah tentang adiknya Sera.
Akhirnya ada lagi alasan untuk saya menunggu dan menantikan komik ini. Semoga di buku-buku berikutnya ada lagi rahasia yang terkuak tentang organisasi jubah hitam, dan Aoyama Gosho-sensei tidak membiarkan pembaca menunggu terlalu lama.

Aku kasih 4 bintang.
Ya ampun, seru banget!
Terutama yang seri merah darah itu!
Tegang, bikin penasaran, nggak nyangka, pokoknya seru banget!
Cerita lain tentang Yumi dan pacarnya terus mayat tenggelam itu juga seru banget.
Dan adik Sera itu lho bikin penasaran juga.
Ah.. Setelah sekian lama sok sibuk, akhirnya kebaca juga seri ini.

“Tu sei il nemico dei cattivi, vero?”
Prima storia eccezionale, tante conferme e qualche bel colpo di scena.
Peccato che per leggere questi file a tema organizzazione in nero/fbi/... bisogna sempre aspettare un bel po’ di volumi.
Seconda storia con il ritorno dello shogista, gran bella storia però se non si conosce lo shogi è piuttosto complicata da capire appieno.
Ultima storia con un gran trucco usato dall’omicida. Quando ne sapremo di più della sorella(?) di Sera?
